Give Crowded House a call, they should be able to pack the van and get across to the track to keep the crowd entertained.....whatabout free booze and sangers as a goodwill gesture due to the debacle?....NOT for the jockeys though, they can eat cake.

We have our own troubles here with Gundagai now in jeopardy.......to be a steward you need half a brain, apparently, the track was under water and although they have run the first, they knew full well there was a massive problem with horses pulling up. What is it with these guys, they pull on a suit and any common sense flies out the window....

All you have to do now then is teach Kiwi's how to drive! The fucking behaviour I saw on the roads left me gobslmaked and nearly dead once.......tailgated buy a fucking logging truck at 100km per hour.......the A40 in the UK or the M1 here in QLD has nothing on SH1 in NZ....

I'll tell you a little story, WD Skelton, IMO the best barrier jock I rode against, one day he drew next to me in 2, a field of about 24, he's got a bumper [cig] in his mouth, we spoke about nothing important if I remember but a little natter, as the last one came in he stubbed the cig out, wiped his mouth and the stater called out, ''all clear''....and we were off.......all clear.......Bill was very laid back, as was Bob.......but calling out all clear meant action time boys.....no gals back then.......somethings changed, as it does......I have no idea......literally.......Pam might ask her ex, he would know more I suspect.

Ok, thanks Curious, I do feel though, that ride did deserve a tad more than a ' scolding by Noel', anyone with a decent wager on that steed would be more than pissed.

On reflection, that young lady would have been sent to the bush to ride for a month here....once the stewards had studied the betting moves!......A jockey should not ride their mounts as to bring into question the integrity of such.......sadly that didn't happen with that ride.

Was she referred to the riding master? or riding panel? if not, why not?.......she's only going to improve with tuition and criticism as per your comment........I watched the replay, boy, that ride would have copped her a rebuke by the stipes here.....what a difference 2000km of ocean makes.

Sadly, many [thousands] of Saffies use NZ as the means to reach Oz, they stay, get their residency and flee the coup, we have so many live near us and are quite open about it, Oz was always the target, NZ need to close the loophole NM, the immigration laws are flawed. Then again, even if they only stay for as long as it takes, it's better than status quo, the money here is only going to get better racing wise it must be a real carrot. Barend Forster is the latest arrival, but the fella that won on ours a few weeks back is a Gr1 winning jock too, soon there will be no-one left in ZA.
