  1. That's classic viewing, probably never ever happen again, the pilot certainly never gave up and goes to show what tenacity means........last 600 in 51, thats probably a track record ?
  2. It may as well be, you know what they use for Fert up there Huey don't you?
  3. That should read ..Repat.....as in Repatriation...!
  4. There is a clause in the sale contracts now, a repeat clause, they used to end up inside the lions at the zoo [fact] same as Singapore, the expat trainers looked the other way as the lifestyle was too good.......a horrible end for the noble animal shamefully, Korea and Macau are terrible places for a horse to end up, but hey that's life, who gives a fuck.
  5. He is limited to 60 horses, a huge difference training in the big city, no paddocks? whoa, I've never met him, I wish him well, but HK to me is a poisoned chalice, it wasn't once, but it is now!
  6. Has he ever been sighted wandering amongst the great unwashed canvassing their thoughts?
  7. Will Bernard be there?
  8. You can hardly blame the fella for looking at fresh fields, however HK has a very dodgy future, why wouldn't TA have set up in Oz? Like Moroney did, Sarge did, and of course Waller did, why is Big Dave reluctant, a venture as big as TA needs to the best for their thousands of clients, running around for K12 is not a ROI.......there must be more to it, I just can't see it......
  9. Whoda thought it......Walker back to NZ........might regret it young fella, when China takes Taiwan.........ducking and diving then.
  10. Where there's a pulse there's always hope.......
  11. But they'll still respect you in the morning.
  12. I can't believe that, Oh....yes I can.
  13. He's had so many death threats he lives inland from Cairns as far as I know, he's quite open about the death threats, his first love is the red hots, and I'm in no way defending him, I'm saying generally where there is smoke there is fire, he's been on the money with some revelations and he's chucked about so many that it's a wonder he's not been stopped by the Feds.......or sued. Whatever happened to the 'cease and desist'? How he gets his info on NZ is beyond me, but someone is feeding him and the NZ feds need to do something as if it's not true it's defaming to the highest order.
  14. The talent pool in that joint would dwarf the Mariana Trench.........
  15. Here in QLD we can't attend the races from the 17th Dec, licensed persons included, however our State Members of Parliament are NOT required to be vaccinated........how does that work? Queen Palachook is not of our intellect and has surrounded herself with even less gifted persons.......clever bugger our Queen, but deeply flawed also. I see many trainers strapping their own at the races, not to save money, but because they have to........God, what will become of us, this is sheer madness, and NO-ONE will answer you re why the MP's are exempt.
  16. Imagine the picturesque imagery of horses galloping into the sunset! Oh hallelujah ......if only they carried Saundry and a few of his mates from Petone as jockeys.........I'd pay a kings ransom to see that.
  17. Do you struggle doing both at the same time?
  18. I think you've excessively imbibed Curious, ''yes ocifer I've had a drink''.
  19. Back in the day over here we had , maiden, improvers 1 and 2, progressive, intermediate, and encourage. Then Welters, flying welters, flying hcp's and then open, WFA. Then we went to maiden, class 1, class 2 up to class 6.......then open company, WTF happened? it all worked terrific, it was easy peasy, you would ring up the handicapper if you had a blue, he would generally have his say [we'd win] but it was honkey dorey.......along comes the new gen, gen X I suspect and cocked it all up......the benchmark disease spread quicker than a Covid variant and NZ caught the thing, change for the better? Those of you old enough to remember Shelley Burford, Triton, New Moon, Mix, Blue Moon, Cantostan, Copper Belt and so many more they all went through their grades and graduated into open co on the minimum.........Then, all was well with the world......IMO.
  20. Here's something to ponder NM, we agist our filly at a reputable property run by expat Kiwi's up in the Northern Rivers for less than 20 bucks a day!!!!!........lots of grass, one feed a day, great fencing and people on site 24/7. 6 years ago we approached a Wairarapa breeder to inquire rates to agist a 2yo filly, the answer was 28 bucks a day ++ and she had to share with 1 other, maybe 2.......the gauging in NZ is endemic and a blight on the decent hardworking people that charge reasonable rates, they are hard to find, they're there, but almost invisible. Through circumstances we relocated most of our mares to the Waikato, and yet still had to find 25 bucks a day, no discount for numbers.....until that mentality is destroyed the road to the cliff will be well patronised.......Pabulum...... = food for thought.
  21. Riddle me this, how does a business pay it's executives mega salaries and yet offer it's goods at bargain basement cost? If you talk volume, you might have an argument, but the prize money on offer does not correlate to the salarymen/women at NZTR........are South Islanders lesser people? are the tracks and the horses inferior? did Saundry have a horrific experience in the SI? Purcell before him? Jackson and co, all, whoever took a set against the south really has a case to answer. The good burghers of SI racing who at least carry clout in the South should have stood up and the populace should have followed them and screamed the house down.........there are some great tracks down south, always have been, but unless there is upheaval the coming generations will not see what we saw. The SI has produced champion jockeys, trainers and horses, the equal at least of the north, there is toxic and malice thinking at head office directed at the SI, it may be subliminal, but it's there, and how disturbing is that? In recent times here in QLD a deputation of trainers with the backing of their owners approached Queensland Racing with several issues, there was an ultimatum put, it was accepted, back in the day at Flemington the trainers called a meeting, CS Hayes, JB Cummings, J Meagher, Tom Hughes Snr, Terry Millard, some famous names, some voted by proxy, but it was a united front. I only had a small team and a small voice, but a voice nevertheless, and the VRC committee were put on notice, it worked, the point........a united front, there is a very well known trainer at Riccarton who carries clout, he should be the first onside regarding change to programming, he might not be totally onside but he's no fool, to maintain owners and for the SI to go ahead change is needed, the entire training centre in alignment with those further south, have to enforce change. We don't have horses in work there now, but we did, if we did so now, we'd support our trainer with any action needed to bring Petone to the table.
  22. ajbutterflyracing. that's his twitter handle, he's still going at it on twitter, he's determined I'll give him that, he has attacked several thoroughbred people over the years but by gee he's into the AKL trotting club at the moment. Off piste a tad, however, he was molested as a kid at school and I seriously believe that's why he is the way he is.......and for that I shall forgive his foibles........
