  1. Thanks NM.
  2. Go for it. look forward to that.
  3. Do you remember Noir Filou and Fair Law winning the legs of the DD? Thats what kicked me off, you were too young probably, 1966/7 I can't remember when.......back home to Titahi Bay........fish and chips from Porirua and a taxi home......
  4. Whats going on? We're getting no info over here, whats that matter with the track?
  5. Geez, Otaki has lot it's allure/mojo........when I lived there instead of 'dating' the Hotwire we all went down to Kere's restaurant for a fish and chip feed.....and kicked on at the Jube playing pool,......now that was living.....
  6. Sorry Huey, pressed the wrong button.........
  7. Pitman and I have had some heated stoushes in many issues, however I agree with him wholeheartedly re Trentham, it's not easy getting to Trentham from Mexico City, and his owners paid dearly for sheer incompetence ..........so too did MP, at least he said something, and loudly, the noise from north of the border was barely audible.
  8. Jesus H Christ, those figures are impressive, what does that tell you about grassroots, that's what's so sad, no, infuriating......Petone just doesn't get it, it's a culture thing now and that's passed Petone by, big city NZ has no romance with the turf, going to the races, watching the horses, mixing with family and mates, sharing a chardy, or a beer or 3, and knowing every year you can replicate a super day......Ellerslie's day in the sun has set.....well and truly, the flagship has sunk, and Trentham other than one or two days will go same way.......but the committee will still piss up as if there's no tomorrow and Petone will do the 'ostrich thing'.........congratulations to Reefton, and their brilliant committee for keeping grass roots racing front and centre!
  9. For sure! The breeders aren't stupid, they know if they earmark this sale they get the best return........in general. SYD summer is a buyers sale, good horses at generally good prices, something for everyone, it escapes the hype and media saturation MM gets......you should see all the b grade celebrities up here for the Polo and sales/races........so many locals aren't going Sat, many unvaxxed, and many just over the bullshit.......gimme Cox Plate, Derby Day, any day!
  10. There were some lovely horses go through, but anyone paying more than a couple of hundred grand for a horse needs a lobotomy. The Sydney Summer shits all over this sale for value for money, buy a real racehorse in SYD, without the trumpets and marching band not to mention the booze of this horse dispersal sale.......inflated prices brought on by hype....... Sydney Easter is the blue ribbon sale, always will be, even after the move to the burbs........Gerry Harvey is always giggling, not hard to work out why.
  11. Well Ms Neasham did work for him, so collectively it's now a wankfest.......
  12. Well he was disqualified and fined 75K for training horses for one of Australia's most wanted, notorious conman Peter Foster, that qualifies for a wanker medal does it not......paying a kings ransom for a horse? that's sheer lunacy.
  13. I guess that makes Maher a wanker then....
  14. I't's really the chicken and the egg isn't it?
  15. Cmon down Mr Rutten......you've been outed!
  16. Look fella's, gals, it's pretty easy to pick a good horse when you're splashing megabucks about, you've gotta be pretty unlucky if you spend a couple of mil, 10 mil in some cases and not get a good horse......having said that, Nomates is right of course, you only hear about the 'lucky ones'......the ROI for most would be abysmal. The car park is chockers! You can pick the bloodstock agents cars a mile off, now aint that strange.
  17. ''I'll have what she's having''
  18. I've said it before and I'll say it again.......MM is schoolies for adults, if you don't know what schoolies is, google it!......the booze has kicked in now, mines bigger than yours. MM is a giant wank, the real sale is Sydney summer, where all the smart money goes, the Autumn sale is just a pedigree page fest.......Interestingly Mark Walker/Ellis bought Lot 9, Exceed and Excel colt. it's only 5min from me, but I'm not there.......no room for the unvaxxed......so my millions will be saved for Karaka [just kidding].
  19. Absolutely agree, I won a few races at Hawkesbury, there was a jockeys prize, a set of golf clubs worth more than a grand, a trainers prize also, nada, zilch for the owners, the people that put on the show, as without them the jocks especially would have to pack shelves or drive Ubers........the owner is much neglected, more so in NZ......but, if they wont stand up and be counted they deserve every kick in the guts they get.......stand up and shout FFS.......
  20. No capital gains tax in NZ.......YET........there is here, so they are staying put, trading horses to Asia is where the big bucks are, nice little earn that, it should make you wonder why so many younger trainers are happy with their lot, but Benner summed it up, 'we sell.'.......so until Cinderella brings in the death, inheritance and capital gains taxes my guess is they will stay put.
  21. What were the whitebait fritters like?
  22. Touche!
  23. In other words NM, they're building a Casino where the grand old lady [stand] was/is.......I wish they wouldn't beat about the bush, just tell us, pokies, blackjack, roulette, yippee........Upper Hutt demographics maybe?
