  5. Great post MK, I can go back to 67, and you're spot on, we rode as tight back then, we had large fields too, but riding two notches lower helped, it helped a lot, and we didn't have horse breakers back then either, we, we were the breakers, the apprentices.......and we learnt to stay on......the tracks had great soles of grass, and we had just as many race meetings, I rode at Fielding on the Sat and again on the holiday Mon, and that happened a lot......good old days, with the emphasis on 'good'.......just saying.
  6. Ahh, bliss, Bernies salary is safe for at least another week

Hope you're right, a few years back one slipped and whoopee doo, all over rover, maybe if it's constant soaking rain it will just be an ''honest heavy''.........might be too big an ask for them to drive over the 'hill' early doors, where can you get a bacon and egg roll in Featherston 7am Sun morn?.....#nomaccasformiles
  8. They must be a tad nervous over at Tau? a downhill bend can get a bit slippery......
  9. You'll need your wetsuit then, a bit chilly in board shorts hanging 10 on the long board, being an old Bay Boy.
  10. Well I'll be.......did anyone walk the track? Stewards? jockeys? trainers? anyone?......two horses gallop at 6am maybe? sometimes races abandoned in QLD because torrential rain [like 70/90ml] in an hour or so, and water pooling on the track, QLD summer, but what happens in NZ is comical, except for the poor old owner and trainer that travels in some cases hundreds of kilometres only to be kicked in the guts, how many Petone suits travelled up? oh glory be, bring on a Royal commission, the queue would stretch from the Cape to the Bluff to give evidence and cry foul......you think?
  11. Well Well Well, look who's name has popped up in the wire taps, could there be some nervous people at the Blue Bin here in Oz? During the trial prosecutors also played an FBI wiretap in which Navarro was recorded speaking to Fishman. Another prominent name that emerged in court in one of the wiretaps was that of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and the owner of the international successful Godolphin racing stable. On the other end of the line in the 2019 call was Florida harness trainer Adrienne Hall, who testified Jan. 27 that Fishman put her on a program with his PEDs and that she administered the drugs to a horse that won a low-level claiming race. Hall agreed to testify in exchange for a non-prosecution agreement. On the wiretap Fishman appears to discuss a $2 million "program" that Dubai Equine, a veterinary hospital build by Sheikh Mohammed in 1995, devised for Thoroughbreds. A transcript of the wiretap obtained Monday begins with Fishman telling Hall that his program "is not instantaneous." "Right, so OK, because they are racing on Sunday—they are going to be in on Monday. I gave the other stuff today anyway," Hall says. Fishman then goes on to say that it takes one or two weeks to start things. "This is a program," he says. "This is a program that Dubai Equine spent probably $2 million devising for their Thoroughbreds, you know? It is part of a program that uh, you know…there's other stuff too." Fishman goes on to say that he was bringing Hall on slowly. Fishman adds, "This is what they do for all their horses and overall, they are very happy. Sheikh (sic) Mohammed Maktoum (sic) said the best three years, you know, in the 30 years he has been racing and they are very happy. So, I'm sharing stuff with you. But then again that's for Thoroughbreds so we just have to tweak some things out because some of the stuff I design for Standardbreds, they don't work. So that's why I'm charging you a fraction of what I normally charge so let's just go baby steps, and we will just start from there, alright." Godolphin representatives were not available for comment Monday evening. A tally shows the wiretap was one of 55 recordings the jury heard in the case. Almost all of them involved Fishman. The Thoroughbred industry's leading publications are working together to cover this key trial.
  12. Now I'm going for the rope, I just hope the branch can hold 115kg, I'm done.
  13. You'll have to excuse me, the paramedics have just left, they couldn't believe I'm still alive, apparently the bullets passed between the left and right ear without hitting anything, they were amazed, the only conclusion they could come to was, they asked if I was a contrIbutor on BOAY, when I answered yes, they looked at each other and shrugged, that must be it they said.... Re Hemoplex......as I mentioned before, a few posts back, Smith’s treatments of Iron Duke and Elaborate consisted of legal substances VAM and hemoplex, sourced from reputable supplier Garrards, in the form of a pre-mixed intravenous-drip. The record of treatments showed Smith would typically administer 30mls of each substance which equated to three times the manufacturer’s guideline of 10mls. Smith conceded that increased dosages of both substances could have affected cobalt levels in a horse but claimed the administration of the concoction was solely to “assist in recovery” – the same defence used by Victorian trainers Mark Kavanagh and Danny O’Brien in 2015.
  14. Please Chief, I'm going into the next room to shoot myself, I've put two shots into the chamber in case I miss the first time.....please read below and leave me alone. 18 months ago Darren Smith's horse training operation was shut down by Racing New South Wales stewards. He was found guilty of using cobalt chloride on his runners and given a 15-year ban. He lost an appeal to the Racing Appeals Panel and then also the Racing Appeals Tribunal.16 Aug 2015 Horse trainer Darren Smith fails to reduce his 15-year ban for ... https://www.abc.net.au › news › horse-trainer-darren-smit...
  15. Trainer Darren Smith has been banned for 15-years by Racing NSW Stewards on Friday for 42 charges relating to cobalt use. Racing NSW Stewards say Smith had purchased a product from disqualified Harness Racing identity Shannon Wonson and embarked on an admitted course of conduct to inject multiple horses in his stable. The Newcastle trainer admitted injecting horses with a substance given to him by a disqualified harness racing trainer and which he understood to be a blood booster, after initially denying he had administered cobalt. Stewards handed down the heavy penalty citing Smith's previous poor record of drug-related offences. It was Smith's tenth offence regarding prohibited substances since 1989.Earlier this month Stewards found Smith guilty on charges relating to 21 positive samples. He had been charged under three different rules for each of the offences, but after finding him guilty of two, found it was unnecessary to rule on the third.A total of 17 runners from 20 race starts returned positive samples for cobalt for races between February and May in 2014.
  16. Smith's legal counsel, which was making submissions on the length of penalty, argued there was no threshold for cobalt in place when his offences were alleged to have occurred, including Testarhythm returning a reading in excess of 6000 micrograms per litre of urine after his win in the Ortensia Stakes at Scone last year. NSW adopted the national rule of 200 micrograms per litre of urine on January 1.
  17. I've pasted an exert from the hearing against Smith below, to avoid confusion....Thanks.... In O’Sullivan’s preliminary statement, he said the defence would not contest the scientific findings but challenged the notion that his client’s intention was to “enhance performance”. Smith’s treatments of Iron Duke and Elaborate consisted of legal substances VAM and hemoplex, sourced from reputable supplier Garrards, in the form of a pre-mixed intravenous-drip.
  18. If you google Darren Smith the complete story is there, refer to the Testarythm example, that reading was why RNSW bought in the 200mg limit Curious, anything around the readings Smith and Kavanagh S had were toxic........if I remember correctly the readings Katrina and Terry recorded were similar and they copped a massive holiday also.
  19. I've never taken a blood, .......to ascertain how my horse was doing and to see if there's anything wrong that I hadn't picked up.......you'll find lots of old timers like moi that have/had the same MO.......many trainers rely on their vet, and a haematology report , that's their business and to each his own, I adhere to ''if I can't tell there's something wrong with my horse I shouldn't have a licence''.......silly old fart aren't I?.....the feed bin/water bucket tells lots of stories, you just need to be able to read it.
  20. No not all, I mean any iron iv will effect a blood profile, to get a 6000mg read out it had to be intentional......
  21. Google it, see how many administrations Smith was guilty of, he did it, he knowingly did it, the other two you mentioned had a rogue vet [they claim] and it's before the courts in a damages action, they claimed they had no idea what the vet was putting into their horses, and if you've ever given one a hemoplex iv and I bet you haven't , or any iron supplement you know what id does to a blood count, but we've been down this road before and I'm not going there, good on Ray Murrihy, and the luckiest bloke in racing is Sam Kavanagh, he broke down and pleaded guilty, his case is sad reading to boot...it all is......
  22. It's only Monday morning, you might improve by Friday, you can do better surely.........Peter had a rogue/ignorant stable hand, he put his hand up, in a one off, this low life Smith had 10 cases before stewards leading up to the Testarythm case, that poor bugger had 6000mg in his system, the limit NSW racing bought in was 200mg, there are a lot more, so I urge anyone interested to just google Darren Smith disqualification and I congratulate Mr Murrihy for his stand.....we don't want cruel bastards in our industry, and anyone, anyone who sanctions behaviour like this is a sick prick....end of.
  23. I'm sure it's not the Aussie version KK, he's not allowed anywhere near a racecourse and he's poison anywhere near a racehorse, what he did? If I owned one of his that was tanked up on the shit he hit them with he'd have copped a 'visit' and I make no bones on that......his friends could fit into a red telephone box, even with social distancing.
  24. And Craig Grylls needs a compass as well, never a run where he went in the Thorndon, what a huge run.
