You should be over here Mr T, there are a few 'old' callers on their last legs, with your talent you'd be a shoe-in, Oz gain NZ loss, but they'd get what they deserve.
-
Now there's a thought.
-
WTF? Even back to early 80's when I trained at Flemington we had a trained first aid officer and a fully compliant emergency vehicle stationed at the track from 4am until close of track work. Now, most of the metro tracks here have a paramedic on hand and no track work begins until said person is in place. That's not good enough Freda, I can't believe the jocks that ride there allow this to happen, wouldn't happen here, no-one would ride, full stop.

Drug Testing Conducted At Cambridge JC by the RIB.
Joe Bloggs replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Sadly any dope testing should begin just north of Wellington and south of Lower Hutt.......sadly. -
Thanks Reefton, I forgot CJC didn't have to cough for the track, lets see how history remembers it, it's easy to blame Gen X and Millennials for the woes of today, but by gee we Boomers have caused some Kuk have we not. Winston is a leading stupid old fart, and is not Robinson Crusoe. However, so many Boomers are responsible for so many poor, questionable decisions, many at Club level, some at HQ, ah well, there's always Golf, and the Spring horses will be back in shortly. #glasshalffull

BUT, no-one answered my questions of many months gone, did anyone from CJC contact Geelong or Toowoomba to ascertain WTF happened to these tracks . It's no secret one fell apart and was not viable to repair, the other [QLD] was a joke, and no one would race on it except for the needy and the greedy, the simple fact it allegedly didn't go out to tender should ring alarm bells, why was that exactly? Someone with a hundred horses will always find 20 that good on it, a behemoth stable near us supports the AWT with horses that couldn't win a race down a well, and whoa and behold, find a few that can handle it and put off the sacking process, but as for it being gods gift to trainers as a training aid? some are easily pleased as thats NOT a consensus here by a country mile. Might I add, the stakes on our AWT are double NZ, and in MEL many are for $K 35, not the disgusting, insulting offensive K 12 that they are racing for in NZ on those wonderful industry days, you know, those days that the suited wonders on fat cat salaries throw the industry Hoi poloi a bone.....IMO and just saying.....
-
And no questions asked.......FFS, is that acceptable?
-
Did the AWT construction go out to tender? Just asking.
-
There's an AWT going in here on the coast, work on the track has already begun, it's going to be a dogs breakfast as lights are going in also,, two of the biggest stables in the country are now here, they will support the track when we have torrential rain, no doubt, when you have 300 horses on your books and one stable has 480, you have to race them, sometimes 6-7 in one race, so those stables will prop up numbers, but in general the consensus is, it's a last resort, and you only have to look at the rabble on the Sunny coast, where many of the fields are spread out over a furlong, and the kick back has become terrible. At least it gives some horses longevity, as a winning trainer said recently, ''Wont go an inch on grass, but grows an extra leg on the AWT'' I bet his owners have a grin from ear to ear.

We!...not why......over here the coverage was spectacular ........you poor sods cop it all the time, time to revolt.
-
Why enjoyed massive coverage all night including the pre race and although red eyed now, it was a great night, race went as expected, roll on Sat night as NS might have some serious opposition over that extra 200m, especially from the Freedman camp.........that extra 200m always finds them out, especially the horses backing up. No one was going to beat NS over the short course, the bookies got hammered........luv that.
-
Honest answer please team? How many horses does Mills race?
-
Just another kick in the guts, or another mistake, lets see. In the meantime Howie Mathews is returning to public training as he's so chuffed re the stakes increases? Hello, Howie, how many races have been canned to accommodate the new increases? I'm dumbfounded, or maybe just plain dumb, what am I missing here? Will Freda get an answer to her alarm or will NZTR roll out the spin, it's going to split this industry eventually, the gifted salary people wont care, that haven't cared since Moses played fullback for Papanui/Merivale......FFS.
-
Who appoints these people NM? are they deaf, dumb, blind?......most importantly are they accountable......?........No, I thought so.

One of the saddest days for NZ racing was when Saundry got off the plane, ''the fixer'' yeah right, Saundry will fit right in back in Woke Victoria, although he might be a tad nervous awaiting the outcome of Kate Goodrich's court action. NZ deserved better, much better, or did it? I'll let you lot decide that.

Can anyone tell me why so few women hold positions of influence and responsibility in racing NZ? Maybe with a few fairer sex executives in management there might be less boys club behaviour. It works in the corporate world, but Planet Racing NZ style is a rarified and sacred space it appears........lets leave Glenda out of it, that was a biggggggg mistake, or was it? At least learn from it, there are talented women out there, with so much racing expertise, all it takes is a will, and of course some willing women.....
-
How many less races are being run now compared to say 5 years ago?.........the industry is in such a precarious position wouldn't it be more prudent [and fair] to increase maidens and R65/74 by 5k, and then divvy up what's left to the high profile racing.......
-
One rabble to another really, they've forgotten grass roots again, either that or they have complete disdain for them. That vertically challenged chap on the other channel seems to think Saundry did a good job, therein lays a real problem as he had a bit of support, with intellect like that, racing has no chance.

INCA Case Finally Dropped Against X, Y and Z

Do you have Royal Commissions in NZ? If not, get with the program, this needs QC's and SC's and total transparency, only a Royal Commission delivers that. -
Soft 7 and yet they ran 1-33+ in the 1600 first race? were the stalls in the right place?

Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry is no more!

The deal we did with India secured a future for many industries, coal, gas and Iron ore used to depend on China, not any more......when we go nuclear, and it will happen, we have what the rest of the world dreams about, uranium in mega tons, and that is the only way we will go green and cut emissions, successfully that is..... .Hydrogen wont power industry, even Labor acknowledges the need for nuclear, the reactor at Lucas Heights in SYD only services the health industry, the Greens don't want a bar of Nuclear, and they want NO horse racing and NO horse exports, or live cattle/sheep export, so something has to give or the grandkids of boomers will starve to death......Labor needs the Greens to get anything through the Senate, they have majority in the lower house only, so carnage is brewing. .I wont be here to see the aftermath, but fear for the young gen in the years to come....... -

You're spot on, we copped plenty when the CCP imposed all those tariff's on us, wine industry, seafood ind, etc etc, what it did do though, was it made those effected most get off their collective arses and seek out fresh fields/markets, they're out there those markets as we've found. Although we have a new Gov, our economy is the strongest in the 1st world, we have developed and strengthened markets like India, Europe. Britain, USA and Latin America, China for NZ is huge, so if I was an exporter in NZ I wouldn't be waiting for the inevitable embargo's to emerge, I'd be at all the trade shows and industry exhibitions around the globe and I'd be canvassing the Trade office for assistance, if China says to Fonterra, '' your Gov has been naughty and disparaging to the mighty CCP so now you can cop a 40% tariff'' then the proverbial shit hit's the fan. Having said that, China needs milk powder and infant formula, and with Oz out of the mix NZ has a stranglehold, but with USA asking for help, it might just be time for NZ to cut the trade umbilical cord with the Giant Panda, and think outside the box, and do it quickly. -

I raised this potential outcome a while ago, plenty of horse meat and black bean, now, or sate, I wonder what horse meat tastes like? Guess what, I'll never know.......fucking atrocious outcome for those poor animals, it was always going to happen, I bet a lot will look the other way, .....move on, nothing to see here....yeah, we know.....it's how it goes. They'll suffer the same indignity that those poor greyhounds that go to Macau suffer, .........no words for this......
