  1. Ah Chief, Chief, Chief, what can I say, the mighty Gate Crash, Rock Up's full bro won [impressively] at Sandown earlier, out to 4-20.......GC could win a major in the Spring, he's a mighty talent, Roc de Cambes just keeps on keeping on. Great judge, Jenny from the paddock, reaping huge rewards with Patrick Payne. Thats 2 full bros winning in OZ within a few days of each other.......outstanding.
  2. Rorts are part and parcel of our industry, bending the rules are still part and parcel, and fiscal tweaking is still alive and well, creative accounting is an art form, some are better at it than others, one thing though is for sure, where money is involved and credit is omnipresent, agreements beyond the norm are enacted, I bet London to a brick on that the leading syndicators have agreements Joe Public could never achieve, that's just good business, not illegal, and the sales couldn't happen if credit agreements weren't reached beforehand. Longtime since I brought at auction, and it will never happen again, for me, might have, if the industry had a bright future, but like Reefton, we are aware enough to see the inevitable, good luck to TA, he doesn't hold a gun to anyones head, if you read a prospectus and agree with it's criteria, then good on you......#eyeswideopen
  3. Absolute champion post......I saw first hand the machination of financing when two NZ/OZ studs tried to merge and a well know finance house got involved as an equity partner back in the 80's......it ended in tears, two behemoths and a massive finance house.........My missus was a victim, had to sue the finance house for 12 weeks wages, the deals that went on behind the scenes in that debacle, involving some of the biggest name trainers demanding 'deals' before buying the prospective yearlings, free services, long term payment arrangements, all done with the knowledge of the auction houses........different auction house now, but do you think it's a different MO? Reefton is %100 correct, and anyone wants to argue that, come see me.......with your cheque book.
  4. FFS, those trainer charges are more than most charge here on the coast? I know costs are out of control, on the coast [Goldie] they range from $85 to &120, the name trainers are upper end, but by gee there are many good older experienced trainers charging lower level.......and we race for $K75 one hour away up in BNE and $K24 here on Sat and $K35 midweek, how on earth NZ racing has got to where it has in mind numbing. Costs at Petone and salaries are almost same as here?????? No wonder Saundry crossed the ditch, no wonder Purcell crossed the ditch, and no wonder George is giggling this side of the ditch, when there is no transparency or due diligence and TAB was guilty of the behaviour they exhibited is it any wonder it's come to this. I know many CD trainers are charging less than 60 bucks a day, to do that you have to cut corners, even riding work yourself only saves so much, peace of mind mainly, so, if the brain donors at the Trainers Association think the owners will cop those fees, well not everyone is a Lindsay, or a Karaman......syndicates might absorb a tad more, but the look is insulting.....racing for bags of Kumaras as Wightman pointed out a decade back is now a reality, transport costs are out of control, so float fees are through the roof, a monopoly doesn't help either, but an AWT may fix that, race day in and day out, only problem, that will soon thin out the quadruped population as it did in Toowoomba and we see with the size of the fields on the Sunshine Coast. Once the capital gains tax hits town that will kill off the trainer/trader/dealer and bring another downward spiral. The gambling dollar can only stretch so far, relying on sports betting to inflate the tote revenue streams wont cut the mustard, once the rugby season is over that stream dries up too, how many professional punters live in NZ and bet on domestic racing? I would say zero, zilch, nada.......maybe on Oz racing, but not the domestic product. Management failed the industry, big time, nothing worse than a midget in a monkey suit and a bullshit bag strutting around blowing their trumpet when everyone knows the industry is laying in ruins......I'll say it how it is, it's fucking disgraceful and heads should roll......
  5. I have a vague recollection of LP riding at Waverley? If anyone would know, you would......is it vague? or a recollection?
  6. Hope you got on NM, 2-40 into 1-40 in places, huge day for the Payne stable, I think 5 winners from 7 ........Rock Up maybe not as good as his full bro Gate Stop, but barring injury he'll win plenty for Jenny and Price Bloodstock.
  7. Agree with you on all the above, except the dating, I'm too old for you and the same sex, and live KM3,000 from your Dude ranch, but then again, I know in NZ the sheep get nervous on pay night, so date night Kiwi style has several different connotations......I do think ESP has surfaced here though, shares in BOAY have gone through the roof apparently, the reemergence of two intellectuals with gravitas has stirred the stockholders into action.....the Chief must be chuffed.
  8. Ah, but he is NZ bred and sold to Japan, he was the best horse in Japan in 2007, Like Iffraaj and Showcasing he was overlooked by NZ breeders, he's a stunning looking fella and a great pedigree, if he got black type mares I have no doubt he could have been anything, Not Dick Karaman's fault.
  9. LOL, I'll stick around as long as the medication and shock treatment keeps working NM, If only for the sake of the good buggers on here, I can cope with the drugs, the voltage is hard to cop, thankfully they put a rubber stopper in my mouth to bite on. ,,, and to be truthful, my hairs grown back and you can't see any sign at all of the lobotomy scar, so the chicks still dig me. See ya round, like a wheel......
  10. Full Bro to the mighty Gate Crash having first start in Oz on Sunday, Mildura, P Payne and Billy Egan, get on, you've been warned......never underestimate the Payne factor, Roc de Cambes, they sprint, stay, jump........if only he got half the mares Savabeel got........#wastedtalent.
  11. By making assumptions like that you're a bottom feeder, so on that note after some very pleasant years on these forums I'm a goner, to all those good buggers out there and there a good lot of you, I wish you all ciao, and goodbye.....and good luck.
  12. Don't drag us down to your level.......please......I'll only ask once.
  13. Ok
  14. POC tax, the messiah, the salvation, the QLD TAB pools are sometimes lower than yours, thank F for the corporate bookmakers........the only positive is they are distributing the 'windfall' to raise stakes....a tiny wee bit, across the border they are going gangbusters........this Gov will implode should the integrity commission broaden it's powers and scope.
  15. May I add, the GM Racing BRC , is none other than Matt Rudolph, who was disqualified by our leading racing body ATC and yet is employed by the BRC.......that tells you a lot.
  16. Reefton, where do I start? There's been a succession of racing ministers here with no clue, nada, zilch, the admin at Racing Queensland is abysmal, BRC not much better, look at the Eagle Farm fiasco, when a deputation of trainers have to shirtfront management, all the indicators are there. QTAB holds are terrible, so the POC tax is the only thing holding it all together, the promises of GOV grants have been gong on for ever and a day......Labour has been in power for almost 30 years except for one term. Grace Grace is completely out of her depth, I bet she hasn't got a TAB account, the figures the GOV bleat don't add up, I'd love BDL to get hold of the figures, yes we are better off than you, but not by much, staying races are almost non-existent, if you look at the scratchings race morning, fields can be decimated, and it' doesn't take rain to do that. Cameron Partington as head of the QLD ATA is very proactive, but he's also a jockey agent? Having said that, Richard Calendar the NSW ATA head, is a self confessed fraudster, [remember the Waller/owners deception] but back to QLD, there are so many agendas on the table here it's mind blowing.....blame shifting is a state sport, cue the QLD integrity commission inquiry. On a personal note, we laid a complaint with the FED Police, it involved a massive cover up, it involved a bio-security breach, it was shut down, it cost us more than sixty five thousand dollars, it needed an official in-depth investigation, being QLD we heard from the vet, nothing from the stewards, nothing from the Police or Government......it was at the start of the winter Carnival, it would have meant a close down for a week at least, nothing happened......I offered to give evidence in exchange for a subpoena ......as it would have cost certain people their business and compromised their professional integrity........we have questions that involve NZ MAF, and I reiterate, we are very happy to stand before an inquiry/commission and offer under oath all the info we have on record, will it happen, not under this Government, nor yours I would imagine, our only hope is our local member who is in opposition and the shadow racing minister, and/or if indeed this current commission is interested in our story......should we wear bullet proof vests , could well be!!!
  17. You could be right Doomed, the Chamberlain's came from Chch......I bet Lindy wishes she never left.
  18. I see the BHA has opened an official inquiry into Marks whipping Chief. Did he raise his arm above shoulder height? 2YO the video, is it on VHS?
  19. Waller closing QLD stable? It's more than a rumour apparently, even I've heard the rumblings, the prize money here in relation to the other states is terrible, the pre-race swabbing is almost non existent [just like NZ] and the integrity commission is in meltdown with all the corruption within the ruling party and it's Monarch will not answer questions. We must remember, Hawkes couldn't make it work and they were a massive op with stables in 3 states, QLD is morphing into NZ, there's not much difference, except we have warmer weather [much] and snakes, plenty of snakes, some with two legs. It wouldn't surprise to hear a statement shortly from the Foxton maestro either confirming or putting a firehose on the sparks that are itching to become flames..... As a footnote, Brian Guy, a great trainer for many decades pulled up stumps last week, sold his house and stables and almost disappeared overnight, an honest and reputable man and a terrible loss to our industry. The great state of QLD is going back to the bad old days when Joh from Chch ran QLD like a Fiefdom......we wait with baited breath.....
  20. Typo Chief, typo, it's Agistment, and how the hell did you get hold of that, it's on private property, Ive been violated.
  21. Speaking of consecutive strikes, anyone seen the video of Sir Mark flogging the horse teaching it to jump puddles? I'm not posting it, but its there, even on the front page of this mornings ''Express' in the UK, and it's going off on twitter. He's offered a feeble apology, but I fear it's going to escalate.........
  22. Are you still pissed?
  23. Unfortunately Rogie ended up with heaps of them, thus, end of........lovely horse, great pedigree, well performed in Japan, and got a Gr1 2400 horse and a fast Gr1 miler, are there better stallions, of course, but he is/was great value.......
  24. They have a knack of failing upwards NM, funny that.
