Yeah Steve sadly missed (bloody stingray) amongst some fine Aussie lads that do a lot to put Oz on the map. Warnie pretty handy with his balls in his day too, had a big send-off last night at MCG with 60,000 attending. In the harness world we lost Gavin Lang and Vinnie Knight much too young.

I don't know Michael House Brodster ,, but I Love him !! lol....... anyone that does something pro-active to keep harness racing alive anywhere (including Manawatu where I haven't been actually) is a 'Gun' 'Top' bloke IMO, like Steve Irwin lol. And I know a lot here hate Auckland trots etc, but shouldn't wish it closed ....there's great tradition involved ,what a track it's been, wrong way round and all !!!!! Surely some 'Ingenious kiwis' are plotting how to keep it going ? Can we get Michael House to campaign some teams up there ?? what a legend.. wishing him (MH) many a winner chicken dinner !! (and yourself too of course)
-
Stake money Manawatu looked similar to South Islands tracks. 5,000-5,500 for maidens, then 6,000-7,000 as you step up a notch and so on. Bit better than Queensland actually.

Grimson and Trainor horses were 'locked up' in the retention barn a year ago for about a month . The stewards ( and everyone ) were wondering about the dramatic Improvement they get with every runner. (And even won the Interdominion with a claimer horse in Dec lol.....) They kept observation for a month but found nothing .... horses kept racing well. I'm gunna call it now !!! . that ex-pat kiwi Jack Trainor will WIN 'the RACE' when he turns up at Cambridge with STYLISH MEMPHIS in a week or two. There ya go .. there's one for you . she's flying at present.
-
His property in a low lying area too,, so probably copped flooding as soon as he moved in . Albion Park nearly repaired now, all resurfaced and about to let rip. She's a great track to drive on. Was thinking of asking Tim for a job and making a comeback lol.... young Riley seems to drive good , and love the kiwi horses.

So the theory is , for punters , you want them to hope the horses they haven't got on their tickets gallop out the back ? That is ONE harsh betting strategy. ...... Punters that desparate they need the opponents to make mistakes to win anything . what has the sport become. ? good grief. What goes round , comes round. I could never wish bad luck/manners/ starts on the opposition. You don't want your horse galloping out the back so why wish it on opponents?. for the sake of a few dollars ? what ? Whether I'm betting, driving in the race or whatever, That would be almost like wishing injuries to your opponents in a footy match. just not right somehow. competitive playing field for all (and FAIR start for all runners in any event makes it a BETTER SPECTACLE ) As a harness fan I'm much more keen to see the 'whole' field race togeather and NOT see the good ones (e.g like Muscle Mountain lately) or even the dodgey ones (like Silver Linings today) gallop out the back , whether I'm betting or not.
-
Fact of the matter is I watched the Video. ....SilverLinings trotted away 9th . It was a 9 horse field. All 9 horses handicap was off the front. All 9 trotted off the mark . 4 x Facts for you. Any advantage you think he had or got at the start is In Your Head. probably After slandering him with this thread ?? asking him to be banned/ barred you're just reacting because he trotted away and Won. The world isn't ending mate because you're wrong. Congrats to the horses connections , and well done Mr Starter !!!!! great to see the whole field trot away well. Bad Luck with your call of Silverlinings Mr Brodster. Better Luck next time. When you get some gallopers maybe.

They walk forward in the NZ Cup the last few years , rather than have a heap of them miss away , how good ??? yes indeed. Horses don't like standing still for an extended period of time. You ALL know that too ?? I drove about 250 stand races. We had to park our horses head over the tape nearly , so the back row horses were not 'Too Far Back' from us at the tape release moment. way harder than anything you see these days. It's a TRICKY BUSINESS , you have shorteners on the hopples and all sorts of things to worry about, as you get going. The race today you complain about IMO , was SUPER super super good. Better than those big fields with them all cannoning in to each other and that sort of thing. You complain today ? you'd complain about anything ?? oh ...wait on ..... lol........
-
Wasn't it Excellent !!!! ALL 9 trotters trotting away compared to the normal shambles you get from the stupid stands they persist with , when there's a perfectly good mobile barrier parked nearby. They're all trotting away in this Waimate race !! excellent !! . and you guys still complain . hehehehe
-
Horse trotted away 9th . there was 9 runners. No advantage gained. 1 horse broke after 100m which was the first one it passed. Was Nothing wrong with the start as per my previous post above.
-
I disagree. Sure the horse was walking forward and being steered around the outside horse in that front row at a fast walk up. But it was a GREAT START for all the 9 horses who ALL trotted away , and a great display by the starter and ALL the drivers . Excellent stuff. no interference to anyone or anything. Great lot of drivers in Race 4 Waimate today. They put up a good showing on average class trotters. very good racing. !!

Com'on Forbs, he's just having a dig at people's tips. not personal. I thought it was quite funny. You know how people say you put the 'Moz' on something by tipping them, etc.. just a public forum for a bit of fun. Good on ya for backing a winner ! the other thread I tried to help Brodster with a Group 1 quaddie but ended up 2 win, 1 x 2nd , 1 x 3rd but ya gotta be in-it to win-it . keep up the good work son !lol. go go anamoe I say lol.....

Put a leftover $1 on the Group 1 multi at Bathurst tonight then. Gold Crown/Tiara/Chalice/Bracelet finals. Winning combo of 7 -3 - 12 - 4 (races 5 to 😎😎 8 ) gets you a carton and the 'fish and chups' for the weekend at 80-1. nice.

A "new" RIB Charge - Duelling! What a nonsense!
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
Brodster is known for duelling with the TAB as well. Wonder if he has sharpened his sword yet ? Brodie would be right into duelling if he was a race driver too, unable to work out those mile races for starters, seems he might 'take off' / or 'go off' a bit too early ? -

Agree with all said here. Whats wrong with a bit of a challenge.? Pure Steel and Gammalite and others were up the leader for the rent 2 laps out at times. made for good exciting racing. Brad and Tim got their wires crossed, so 'both horses' chances were diminished in the race out-lined . (It takes 2 to Tango) Last Sunday John Dunn , a first class driver like Tim and Brad ,wasn't gunna hand up the lead on a heavily backed runner THE HORNET in race 8 , no matter what. Wouldn't take a trail on the favourite CARANA (John Hay) when heavily challenged. Carana won still (as very game horse) and John ran no-where with The Hornet ??? same as Tim Williams in this case then ? in my book ................ both wouldn't accept a trail ?, even though it was an 'ability' horse take them on. Chances of win diminished .. -
Sarah O'Reilly could follow some of those Victorian Lass'es as a great race driver and be inspired too. Today at Charlton in country Victoria the lady driver's drove the quinella in the G2 Charlton Trotters Cup (Kerryn Manning (4000+ winning drives) with victory and Kate Gath 2nd with the ex-NZer trotter 'HaveHorseWillTravel' and just now,, Jackie Barker and Jodi Quinlan quinella'ed the Group 3 Charlton Pacing Cup on 2 Emma Stewart runners , with good race driving as well. The girls are kicking butt lol...

Wow I remember Kevin's dad 'Doody' Townley. What a horseman !!!! winning Interdoms driving Robin Dundee (dead-heat) and Stella Frost (promoted) and driving trotters too. Drove Sir Castleton at Moonee Valley to beat Scotch Notch on her own turf. !! I thought of Doody as the NZ version of Graeme Lang. great with both pacer and trotter. wonderful families. And I had a special spot for 'Hano Direct' , as she won the 1980 Sydney Interdominion trot final for Doody Townley, and i looked after her for a few days as a young teen when she was sold and waiting in Auckland for the plane to America by John Devlin. That was a bit of a thrill at the time lol. Kevin raced with 'Sundon's Luck' in Aus that I remember. am sure he must of had good pacers too

Hey that is amazing you Won so much !! great return !! ANAMOE won by several lengths jogging too, so you are on the money like Brodster. (he was de-throned a while back by TAB and vaccines anyway) so you are the NEW money man , and on the money lol...... I did come out in front punt yesterday, as took the 'FIREBURN' saver in the Golden Slipper at good odds as he had beaten She's Extreme on a Heavy track 2 starts back , so looked a solid chance. What a great ride to win. Do you remember FIRE FOX racing there ? only just sold to Oz recently. Cleared out by 7 lengths in 1.49.6 mile last night at $1.50 in first Aussie run. Interdominion winning trainer Jason GRIMSON 'On the money' like Forb's with that one !!! lol.... scintillating performance by the ex-pat NZer

FORBIDDEN LOVE in the George Ryder R7 is a superior mudder. 4 out of 5 on the heavy shite, and fully fit now too, makes her a 80% certainty lol...... -

A Verry Elleegant sort of track today for the Ranvet. No lottery, just another easy win ... -
The Golden Slipper is on the cards for Linda Meech today , riding Lady Laguna at 40-1 in the Royal Randwick mud. still raining Sydney. was surprised Linda came back riding after having a baby 2 years ago. such a dangerous profession is race riding. many a lady jock has met with tragedy riding in Aus races (and training riders) Sarah O'Reilly, Nat and the many girls in harness racing around Aus and NZ are certainly much safer with slower speeds and closer to the ground and the sulky to protect them a wee bit. SHE's EXTREME and Brett Prebble are great chance of being the Golden Slipper winners today. fantastic last 2 runs in the wet and is primed for big Payday with the rain still keeping it wet. $2,800,000 for the slipper winner today. wow.....

Yes The old TERROR TO LOVE goes down as a NZ Cup superstar in the 3 wins in the great race. What a marvel. Nah wasn't having a go at Ricky. He drove a great race to win the trot and was only a 'menace' to my betting tickets by knocking me off into 2nd place lol.... he does very well. Yes the MUSCLE MOUNTAIN is being a bad boy from the stands . being costly for himself and punters a few times now. Sundee was Strutting his stuff Very well again though ? 3rd Rowe Cup (off front mark with no handicap) a mere formality for the great horse ?? Now a millionaire after tonights Win !!! congrats to Team 'Diamonds" !!
