Well when you look at it , nothing new. When Horse trainers are disqualified for a term , a foreman or relative or even farrier, takes up the stable Trainers name (like kiwi Craig Cross did for a term at Oz winning most stable McCarthy's.) 16 x group 1 trainer, Gary Hall Snr (WA) still listed as Trainer, even though his horse involvement is tiny these days. Not sure why Gary Hall Jnr never wanted a trainers gig, probably like Pete McMullen and Shane Graham and Luke McCarthy and Chris Alford,(Who all train Through/Under their Partners name) they can All take 'Outside their Stable' drives whenever they want. Pete does this regularly. and it's Not a 'good look' really. NZ more honest it seems ,in listing actual Trainers ,Like Barry Purdon , on again off again with Phelan. I guess Nat should just stay off the Training ticket and get Outside Drives too, BUT would miss the BIG 'training percentages ' that the Premier stable earns.

I don't know what the stipes decision is on this occasion?. Yours is quite outrageous really. A non-interference causing drive. Would be a joke if all drivers making a change of direction got three months minimum you called him out for, if got held up afterwards.? IMO Olivia Thornley got 2 month suspension for actually causing interference a while back, and I think that achieves absolutely nothing either. crossed over to lead when insufficiently clear . Ant's only got a month, in the group 1 cleaning up KING of SWING in Brisbane. Big money up for grabs ?? and you want Ross to get 3 months for a non-Interference drive that got unlucky. Fairyland indeed.

Yes that is true , as far as 'a Penalty' goes........ I only commented on the subsequent 3rd and 1st placings by SAGINAW in 2 starts since, for 3 important 'non-official' reasons. I call it making up for your mistakes. >>>>> 1/ It showed that Mr Cameron and horse have plenty of ability. 2/ The punters that did bet on them Sept 3rd had a subsequent opportunity to recover their money (and even make profit , the name of the game !!) a Good thing ! And which they wouldn't be able to do If the Driver Cameron was penalised (suspended) from the 'Non -interference' causing error in question from Sept 3rd. 3/ Mr Cameron helped compensate the owners with 2 subsequent 'good' drives, earning good prizemoney. You must agree these 3 things are ALL positive outcomes????? and better than say a silly JTeaz 3 months off.

all good. I wouldn't go out of my way to put a Barnes on. nothing particular , but yeah someone has to be also rans . I like the Nz driving (ant's and mark P proving to be near worlds best) even though you would of had Mark out for Amazing Dream defeat by 'Beyond Words' late last year lol........ (tongue in cheek) can't win em all lol...... I would say in 15 years of harness racing, did something with them 7 days a week. was racing only 4 days though , and never on Sundays. I think the hardy NZ harness racing folk are working 7 days as well. As you quoted 6 days , but still gotta do something with them. Exactly as you say a lifestyle gig , and you're doing your hobby as a living . (like a week-end golfer ) not really a lot of money involved , (unless you are ALLStars of course) just a love of the game and joy of competing. (and try and get the dollar for your owners)

Horses are difficult to drive. They are going flat out near the race end, and your intention is to keep em' going exactly that. they don't want to sometimes. The 'circumstances' of Krug and Saginsaw were VERY similar in the 2 races , both sat one-one in the running nearly the whole way, both switched to the inside coming up the home straight ...... Why should one driver be penalised and not the other. ? (or horse) . are You and JTeaz saying Ross was trying to lose ? no intent on winning? showed he had intent all three starts past 2 weeks if you ask me. Had no luck where he went on 3rd Sept though . a mistake. wasn't lack of intent of winning ? anyway SAGINSAW is collecting his rent nicely now , and good luck to the connections. (and Krugs too)
-
I agree with all that . fine. Every race virtually , someone gets held up at some stage??? whats new about that. JTeaz wants three months for an obvious mistake (Orange did same with Krug with more punters money on it) jockeys do it all the time too. everyone has some sort of tactic . usually in an attempt to get a win or best possible position. ?? most of time this doesn't come off either. but YOU DID WHAT YOU THOUGHT was best at that moment in time!! 3 months ?? pffffhh JTeaz should sit out 3 months and see if that fixes anything.

How to get on-course participation back FULL at Alex Park
Gammalite replied to Karrotsisback's topic in Trotting Chat
It's a race track. Have some Match races. A thoroughbred at the 1200m start v a pacer 1 lap from the winning post. Would attract a lot of attention , easy to organise , just average galloper and pacer needed for a small prize. run between races . plenty of room for chariots and the like as well. No one puts in effort to get interesting thins happening is the problem. -
Yes , As we all saw JTeaz jumped straight in looking for 3 months. He is an experienced Harness racing person too. I commented a few posts back that was very 'Agressive' for a mistake. Personality shite not much to do with anything. I like everyones comments personally . It's a forum. Whether you like it or not, You wanted some Penalty ?? opening this thread >??? I disagree IMO. bloke made a mistake and has made up for it as far as i'm concerned anyway. Chief probably thought the same. nothing to see here. just an error on the day. I still say horse contributed as well (like Krug in Sires)

Com'on Karrots ! that's a complement , and meant no harm. Recognising your support for the place. ... We swapped Russell Rabbitoh for her. Noooooooooo!! hehehe ...thats a raw deal!!!! , although Rusty a great chance of nabbing the NRL title this year , so he's not complaining. -

What the ?/# kiwi chick ?? hehehe you might like to claim her , but she's a QLDer through and through. Karrot's Park did see the great BLACKS A FAKE promoted to 2nd Interdominion 2011. behind I'm TheMightyQuinn after Smokin Up from Oz, was disqualified trying to sneak in over the kiwi stewards . The last Interdominion was of course won by the amazing Nat !! Ultimate Sniper at Karrots Park 2019 .. !!! perhaps Grant D could get Nat (his ex missus) to drive COLT THIRTY ONE at menangle Interdominion this year and grab the Win? his new missus Trista Dixon probably a bit cranky with him if he does that though lol........... -

Hey , maybe that's LUCKY CREED ? a worthy nomination for great QLDer ever . (possibly number 3 after a great Miracle Mile Win) but here's the undisputed number one. !!!!! a familiar winning face in Nz too.? lol........ -
just finished some gardening , very overated in 30 degrees today. Mr galah you were looking for a rolling head when this thread started , so no good blaming Chief if that didn't happen. What do you REALLY think Mr Cameron deserved then ? if you were a stipe (and what did he actually get as a sanction ???)

Just looking at Sarah's win in the Junior driving race yesterday Methven Race 6. Here is DENY EVERYTHING (sitting last in the back straight from 13 Barrier draw, in the Yellow Colours) What a completely Amazing Training effort. First up since a win 2 years ago in 2019 , circles the field from this point, 3 wide last bend pressing forward . (No One Could even track it up in fast 55.7 last half mile) and he runs down the Hot pot fav SOCRATES who had blazed out the 1.57 mile rate , (2.55.5 for 2400m incredible) now Mark JONES should take a Bow for that wonderful training performance! , as much as Sarah getting credit. Must be a Seriously GOOD horse that bloke. This frame photo down the back 1000m out gives me a real fright, as the 'death-seat' horse TETRICK number 8, gets head very low , without a head check . must be pretty scary for young Dalgety driving that one ???? crazy.

BlairO had 35 drives! past 2 weeks at the 4 meetings Addington/Ashburton for 2 Wins .oh dear. $1.40 for Sugar Me . $2.00 win div for Talent Agent . rest of the drivers have 'rounded him up' lol... Great to see the in-form Junior Sarah O'Reilly take over and get the win last Friday. (on Sugar Me) Driving very well Forb's !! BUT don't forget his 'Victor' in the NZ Junior driving Championship . John placed 2nd to SARAH O'REILLY , who smashed out 2 WINS and a 2nd Methven meeting yesterday . to beat John on aggregate lol... one was an unruly horse off 10m in a HUGE field standing start too. !!!! Great driving Sarah !! fabulous young drivers going around in NZ . who needs Blair lol......

JTeaz immeadiately called for 3 months minimum suspension . (for the Cameron drive 3rd Sept )at start of this thread . Now That is very aggressive !!! lol........ Since then Ross has steered the horse brilliantly tactically (twice) . for a third and a WIN on 5th and 10th Sept. Does those good 'steers' counteract the 'mistake' steer. I say yes . Jockeys run into pockets all the time at Royal Randwick for example with 100,000's dollars invested on their runners. They bounce back the next race ok. Mistakes tactically happen time to time . 3 months suspension won't help anyone ONE BIT . I Wonder if Ross got a suspension/sanction at all for the Sept 3rd drive?? (held up behind Sugar Me)

Put some entertainment on the track too Karrots. If the racing is boring like Brodster says you still need some sort of spectacle that involves horses. The EKKA here (brisbane Show) had all sorts of horses, as well as the standardbreds, to entertain. (stock horses, Police horses , even Chariot horses. The Chariots could do a lap or 2 of the track, and look quite spectacular !! here's team Gammalite -

I think hard to win anywhere. COLT THIRTY ONE (the 2nd best QLDer ever) hasn't even been able to win this year. Even harder in NZ. Look at the size of those Methven/Ashburton fields? is like a lottery winning those. More good news for Sweet Lou's !! MIGHTY LOOEE , formerly of Dunns, a fav horse of Karrots , had first Menangle run last night. Sat last until home turn , then cruised past them like they were tied to the fence. to win very easiliy . Go Louee's !! -
Fine NZer TRIPLE EIGHT was air-bourne tonight taking out the Caduceus Classic Group 1 at Bendigo. for new trainer Jess Tubbs. smashing em' in 1.51.6 knocking off 2 high profile local Vic's in General Dodge and Out to Play. Must be HUGE Victoria Cup chance now in 4 weeks time. ?? 4th win now in 10 Aussie starts this year since leaving NZ in January. At Brisbane they were going like 'Scorched Banana's tonight " in the fast class , and 'Leader Peter' cut loose with Will The Wizard 1.50.6 !!!!! 1.50.6 is going crazy stuff for Albion Park. ( that's like a 1.48.6 Menangle equal) with your Ray Green horse TOMMY LINCOLN 2nd and another old kiwi 'Northview Hustler' 3rd. How fast Can they go ??? TRIPLE EIGHT flying at Bendigo too.

The Group 1 Australasian Trotting Championship just hit the line . Seemingly without a kiwi entrant. But on closer look we find MAORI LAW , even though bred in Australia, has a great kiwi name and trained by ex-pat kiwi Richard Brosnan ! (and son Emmett partner) Richard now 72 and still a group 1 up his sleeve. !!! what a legend. a real loss to Nz trotting. And driven by another ex-Pat ANTHONY BUTT !! driven to absolute perfection as per usual. month off not stopping Ant's That's as good as an actual NZ training /driving win anyway. (another sign of the times? for Nz harness)

Countries Leading Trainers ? can't get a horse to tag on even a lap out ? One of the worst performances I've ever seen from any horse, let alone a Dunn horse. we used to have a bloke turn up at Albion Park each Saturday night with an open back truck. If you wandered out there half way through the program , you would see 3-4 horses on there munching on a hay slice looking about. that were kindly given to this man for a few dollars as you arrived at the course . sort of the uncompetitive horses having a gathering!!! guess where that truck was heading the next day . starting with M.?. I'd keep a place reserved for NED KELLY on that ride.
