  2. That is sharp improvement alright by Global Flight. Narissa McMullen a very good horseperson from a family that is just as good as the Rasmussen Clan in Queensland. and you've seen in NZ how good a Rasmussen can be. Narissa would get a lot of help from brother Pete. Pete has some of the best results with trotters. Pete Won last Tuesday with his newbie from kiwiland KING OF THE NORTH in 1.57 odd. Funny thing is they had a huge Plonk on the horse every run since end of June, and only 2nd first 2 Aussie starts but won the other 2 starts during the past 10 days ok , so they have got a little bit back at least lol . He is gunna be a good one here. This QLD CUP trot has another ex-pat kiwi WEE MAN TROUBLE in too on Saturday night , so a sneaky chance for Blackie , following through behind DOFF YOUR CAP. but lovely if Brittany's trotter takes it out...
  3. Race 4 sees the trotters go round, and we can see why it's Best to race your trotter in Australia rather than NZ>>> Examples DOFF YOUR CAP . last year racing in South Island NZ had 15 starts for 1 win and $20,000. then This year in Aus has had 8 starts for 4 wins and $43,000 in prizemoney. CREDIT MASTER , last year in North Island NZ had 10 starts for 1 win and $16,000. This year in Aus has had 6 starts for 3 wins and $64,000. And they look the Quinella chance in this race ?? 4. Paleface Adios likes the Hewitt's so can have the Alley 12 in the BOAY championship. This get 's their fast horse ROCKIN MARTY in the big race, and old Bob Butt trotter LOTAMUSCLE in race 4.
  5. Race 3 on the card will be for the mares and The Galah might be on song here with Australia's leading stable now looking after the Great NZ north Island mare THE HONEY QUEEN , from the 6 Alley. owned in Auckland by John and Trish Green and the Hughes es . 9. Possibly Better Eclipse to win ? racing well and drawn 8 behind the 'Bunny' stable-mate ,old kiwi horse Triple Eight , which might be sacrificed and hold the lead at all costs. over 2680m this time round, the outside runners would be mad to go full gas early on you would think.

  11. The big night Saturday Night of the year at Albion , and to celebrate the Grand Circuit Event the Group 1 The Blacks A Fake, here's a small comp for some Fun .. The 'front' row Barrier draw has been done for the 'Stalwarts' of BOAY harness racing. The second row still has vacancies for those that might like a number. RULES. a/ players have the same horse number , every race, from race No 1 through to Race 8 The Blacks A Fake Grand circuit event. (so a max of 8 horses) b/ Points given each race 8 pts for 1st placing, 6 pts for 2nd, 4 pts for 3rd, 3 pts for 4th, 2 pts for 5th, 1 pt for 6th. c/ The winning BOAY poster will be the player with the most points after race 8 Saturday night at Albion Park Brisbane. and wins the Barrier Draw (you have the same horse number every race ) Number 1's DAVIS , Davis kicks off in race 1 with one of his favourites in 'Captain Crusader' (a huge chance) and 'Triple Eight' in the feature race. Number 2's RANGATIRA , Ranga has a fine selection of 2's including kiwi trainer Nathan Purdon with his fine filly 'Amore Vita' in the QLD Oaks. Number 3's HUNTERthePUNTER, Hunter has a great show with 'Credit Master' in the trotters Cup and kiwi 'Spirit of St Louis' in the feature race too. Number 4's CHIEF STIPE, the Chief in with a rough chance , and could be 'Kashed Up' after the first race. 'A G's White Socks' carrys kiwi hope for him as well. Number 5's GAMMALITE , drawn out a bit so will be under pressure, but if 'Ronaldo' wins the first race it could be Goal ! goal! goal ! lol. Number 6's THE GALAH, caught wide out The Galah will have to 'Turn It Up' in the big race to take victory. He is a real Raconteur though.! so might win Race 1. Number 7's BRODIE, the Brodster virtually No chance from this alley, but is does go off 'Like A Wildfire' so gets him in the Big race, and he's 'Rockin With Elvis' in race 2 so can't half be bad Brodster !! he might put you back 'In the Ghetto or 'Heartbreak Hotel though .....lol.... The second row draws of numbers 8 to 13 are still open for any interested players ??? (some good horses drawn there too) pick your number and join up ?? @Blackie? , @Greyhound?, @Walt? @Mikey? @Happy Sunrise? ..anyone? just let us know here.... if you're interested
  12. Mango had a few whip indescretions that were dealt with .and McKendry too? also in the opposite boat to what you are talking ? He didn't get lenient treatment for a drive recently where copped a severe penalty for a race mistake tactic ?. So feel you are being harsh with 'Preferential treatment ' by Northern stewards accusation.? Personally, I would of penalised AGH for the Krug drive that sent a couple of runners galloping madly at the first turn last year (which I think you pointed out at the time) so seemingly he got off on that occasion because of reputation , when another junior or less experienced driver or whatever, would of had the book thrown at him/her. so yes , some merit in your thoughts there I guess.
  13. Think you have Ice in your veins Mr Galah , as this harness racing great keeps on bringing em' home . Bolting with Brilliance is young Tony. A very cold drive you are saying?
  14. What's going on ? The poms just beat the Wallabies 2-1 here in Oz as well as the Irish winning there ? I blame covid lol.... f..ed everything else up 😉. One Fan on side-line here, blamed the England coach Eddie Jones (former Oz coach) for being a traitor straight after the match , and security was needed to keep them apart ! lol... at least there was something funny happening 😂
  15. No , you didn't miss it afterall !! Glenbogle of course his travelling stable-mate for big long time with Kevin Fairbairn. Glenbogle was 4th in Interdominion trot Grand final 2005 Auckland, and Whatsundermykilt 3rd in 2006 Moonee Valley, 3rd in 2007 South Aus, 4th in 2008 Moonee Valley, 3rd in 2009 Moonee Valley Interdominion Trot Grand Finals.
  16. yep , the old boy got in the road a bit of Maori's Idol when that trotter was going for the record sequence of 25 wins in a row in a Moonee Valley Interdominion Final . Maori's Idol finishing 3rd to Derby Royale. Ranga , you missed this one , but when I give you a ONE word Clue , you (or anyone) will get it Instantly lol.... CLUE word = Glenbogle
  17. Last today at start 342. The driver lost control of his glasses or something down the back straight, hit a wheel and galloped out the back. more great Amateur Driver action. How they have that as tote races is a mystery.
  18. A is for 'Alexy at Addington' in NZ . just went around again today. A for average as well lol. 'W' could be a better lot of horses for the Quiz. Can anyone pick these W ones from the Clues? Q1/ This horse for Mr W .Butt, started favourite in a Big Adddington race after winning his heats. Battled into 4th in the Grand-Final. Q2/ A horse that raced in the Top class before his trainer was DQed, and had a few cracks in Aussie as well , with a big 2nd to the Natalie Rasmussen Champ a big feather in his cap. Q3/ A trotter with a Maori name raced for many seasons with distinction , even taking on Maori's Idol in Australia without success, but won quite a few in his day. Q4/ Another trotter with the most un-usual name,(and he's not Scottish either) made the Grand Finals at times too like Quiz horse 3 performing very well in the placings. and any 'W' Aussies in NZ ? Q5/ This horse, one of the greats of the track , made his way to Addington and made it three out of three with a margin of 15 lengths combined over the locals ... wow what a motor... Q6/ This great little Queenslander also took it up to the locals at Auckland with some great heat wins but succumbed to the might of Gammalite at the Big moment , and his driver bailed out on the home bend.
  19. Fields are smaller Oz usually so positions are taken quickly after the start. races much shorter too is a factor. so not usually a problem anytime. In the case you out-lined in the large trot field , it is an interesting case. Butcher obviously not wanting to be trapped 3 wide with 2 laps to go, was keen to get in the running line. also They are trotters (in this case) so can get off balance easier than pacers, a horse galloped so Punters are affected by that as well. and an experienced horseman fined for just trying to hold his spot. There's Not really an easy answer to this problem .....
  20. Yep ..... great work Ranga . Q1 Young Quinn clean sweep of Interdominion at Auckland in Q2 horse Yulestar in photo with his trainer the late Lorraine Nolan, first lady trainer to win NZ Cup. Yulestar also won the Interdominion in Brissy storming home from 4 back on fence at the 1/4. to beat Courage Under Fire and co. Q3/ Mark Purdon winning plenty with Young Rufus. The Q4 Aussie Young Mister Charles running 3rd at Addington GF to Golden Reign then DQ afterwards. Gets the Ultimate revenge by WINNING the Grand Final in Perth a year later !!! (hope they swabbed him again lol........)
  21. sorry Mr Galah, have to disagree with that . 2 laps to go in race 6 and when the good Dr's horse galloped , the 2 sulkies were exactly alongside each other. Dr Chin had his horses head turning to the left trying to hold the back of the grey horse , and was off balance so went off-stride. there was nothing inside him along the inside , so his horse natural instinct would want to see him trot in 'room' and not rub shoulders with another runner ( Zac driving Mr Muscle.) I do concede that the $300 fine to Dr Chin was un-necessary. He has every right to hold position you would think. In this case it was to his detriment.
  22. Well I don't know 'Y'..... but we better throw in a couple of NZ champions that both won the biggest race title there is going along with an Aussie who came up with the same massive accomplishment. Have a crack at naming these three 'Y' horses. Q1/ This bloke took on the World and even won a Miracle Mile from the outside gate at Harold Park. (a feat matched by Locarno for NZ as well ) Q2/ Photo Clue ....... seen here with his trainer after yet another Big win. Q3/ Young Mark once had a young horse who beat the quiz question horse 2 on a few occasions. and in true Mark legend style won the Derby, Messenger and Auckland Cup along the way AND the Aussie to have a crack at glory in NZ... Q4/ This bloke tried to be an Interdominon winner in NZ as per Gammalite style, but was beaten in the Grand Final by another Aussie into 3rd place. Then he was later embarassingly disqualified from that spot with a positive swab.
  23. A star of the show is Tony. Always has been. Fancy beating one of the best staying trotters ever like he did in the Rowe Cup. simply outstanding trotting. in time of 4 minutes. most pacers can't do that John Dunn might get more sights of Tony going past as well , when Highgrove and Double Delight meet in future clashes. Highgrove a fine Trotting Derby win recently but Tony wasn't far away with the filly. look out John.. lol. And don't back maidens . TROT TO CHEVRON for the leading Dunn barn, looked the goods in the first race tonight at Addington , but threw it all away late. That's too hard for Punters to take IMO. back to the gallops ... lol
  24. Yes in the early 2000's the large city 's of Cairns and Townsville closed due to lack of funding and not many trainers left racing in those areas as costs 'sky-rocketed' for 'everything' at the turn of this century. The 'travesty of Harness tracks' to me was the Closing of the Gold Coast track 2010. It was state of the art only 20 years old opening in 1990 and brilliant to drive on . Was the best , and in a growing city. The State government took it over at Parklands to build the Athletes Village for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the site. I still near 'throw up' as I drive past it these days when going to GC , seeing a heap of buildings mostly unused on that great racecourse. Albion Park and Redcliffe would of both 'been in bother' many times but Benefactors millionaires Kevin Seymour and Chris Garrard (horse and hound) have poured Bucket-loads in to keeping them both running. They have done an amazing job keeping the industry going bless em', and can only wish them a Champion each as reward. Kevin has raced Colt Thirty One to about 50 Albion wins and now has LEAP TO FAME , who could be better still.....
