  1. I know you have long felt apocalyptic opinion regarding your nation and trotting Brodster , but chin Up mate. No feature race is a farce (Yole loads Tas trotting fields with 10 runners sometimes , Now That's a Farce !! lol..) Maybe the fillies should of gone in with colts ??? 12 horse field then . And a good race. Still there were plenty at the yearling sales shelling out Big bucks. NOT just Allstars clients. Herlihy did well the other night and won the time-honoured Rowe Cup. and spends up. His lovely wife Suzanne gets her girl-friends involved and they all race horses in shares togeather and have FUN. Think she is still in old Temporale too ?. So get a mogb togeather like that, and you can race one . easy peesey. $9k races are FINE. as long as your trainer good enough to keep running placings. More chance if only 7 in it too lol... (any race ) I'd be quite happy to be racing one or 2 in Auckland these days with the smaller fields. Bound to get in the money rather than those horrid 14 horse fields that were the norm for a long time? . (AND were Extremely hard to Win ) (unless you are Gammalite😉)
  2. Well it seems they are not driving this Sunday either. That Gives the rivals heaps of chance to win then in my book ? surely the rivals fancy out-driving Cox (recently beaten on many ,many Allstars runners and the junior Olivia T on others ?. Allstars (Mark and Nat ) appear to be giving rivals ample chance to beat them ? and yet you still grizzle.... oh well....
  3. Catch up Brodster. They turn 3 for racing purposes at January 1st. you not on the money again ???? The big November Carnival will host great 2 year old races this year in all likelihood.???? AND why is Olivia driving these 2 year olds on Sunday ? and Not Nat ? are Allstars trying to get beat ?? lol.......
  4. Well Dunns did a good job dominating trots past couple of years . Sundee and Highgrove winning all sorts of things (Oscar did win a group 1 though for Allstars, so Mark didn'rt miss out altogeather) Hope stable trotters in turn taking it up to Sundee with Muscle Mountain , etc. so all good ??? Pacers section saw Ray Green with Copy That knocking off Allstars champion in the NZ Cup ??? American Dealer went ok as well. all good ?? .... Krug took the Derby double last season. So My Half Brain tells me the other Trainers are doing Fine !!! lol......
  5. Well the performance lifts as well. so nothing will change except Aus folk will look for more of em " TOWN ECHO has the picket fence of wins . 5 from 5. Blazing out 1.52 miles every time in April/ May. Not sure if she counts as a 'good' mare or not in NZ as just had the 1 Win this campaign from 12 starts , and that was with Newman at Rangiora junior drivers race ( moderate form while being raced at the leading Dunn stable? ) TOWN ECHO's new trainer, Jack Trainor is proving a 'Grand Trainer ' indeed . and Hart exceptional driver too. Awesome result in THE RACE and Messenger too when visited Nz recently.
  6. I'll watch out for that one. THE HONEY QUEEN is already winning for Team McCarthy and Aucklanders the Green family in some mares races at Menangle . Another former Aucklander mare PEARL HARBOUR runs a place every week there as well. What happened to LA ROSA ? she pushed champ 3 year old filly Bettor Twist to a couple of nose photos last season in some features. for Mark Jones and Sam Ottley. thought she would be pummeling some wins this year. Jones and Ottley would push hard at Dunns, Allstars and Telfers in better class races, if someone would give them some horses to work with ........
  7. Bit of a site for Zombies ya reckon lol.... hahahaha..... now thats funny lol. also mean same as this , I just had 50 on MARCOLT at 10-1, because you guys were talking Pat Payne runners , and it just ran 2nd to Vituvius at Sandown (who i had riding on the quaddie final leg a month ago for a huge collect, when beaten a head by Sir Davy). Vitruvius back from the dead to haunt me again....lol. wish he had an undertaker hahahe
  8. Great win by Gate Crash today !!!. Patrick Payne runners 10 wins since last Sunday. Good for the wallet. Excellent Trainer. and Mickey Dee one of the best too. Also excellent to see Joe and Nomates posting again instead of blaming Chief for everything lol...... No good being big sooks like the Doubting Thomass and Not posting . Doesn't achieve anything lol......
  9. The kiwis are smacking the local champ COLT THIRTYONE to pieces. Alas Mach Shard has turned up and Albion are running 2600m stands like NZ or something . 😩. Mach Shard cleaning up last week , and even with the addition of former Aucklnad Cup winner TURN IT UP , looks set for victory again . Turn It Up now leased by Vicki (Nat's sister) and going like a bomb. Mach Shard still raced for the 3 kiwis including Katrina (Barry Purdon's wife)... 20m won't stop em. !!!! Mach Shard was 2nd last turning for home last week , And Then Still WON. He's a beauty. Kiwibreds to get all 3 placings again this week ?? GO COLT !!! (wishful thinking ?? lol).... 7:46pm THE FLASHING RED DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP (G3) 2647M $32,376 No NR. Discretionary Handicap. RBD. 10. More kiwi losses. But the Bromace continues.
  11. Great effort Chief. Did a bit on the the other kiwi which looked a special, but got Destroyed lol. Great win and plunge on the kiwi winner too. well done Nz !!!
  12. Fixed win I believe Mikey. The TAB are paying out up to $2000 with one win bet. (should be able to put $1000 on a 2-1 shot it seems. ) I do remember a couple of $1000 bets I had a while back . both on a 2-1 on shot (won $500 both times with easy leader NZ bred horse ) They just about have to be past the post propositions before i'd risk a grand on them. lol.... otherwise you lose the enjoyment of the racing and just worry about the money instead . thats not much fun at all. $2000 seems a nice collect. would do me for a month.
  13. Australia voted yesterday and the Greens got a heap of votes too. A New Government of LABOR is coming in after 10 years in opposition. That'll please Brodster ? to see some more Labor geography around the place lol.... Wonder if Aus goes the same way as NZ now ? apparently 'Climate Change ' is the chief reason for change of government . What a dumb mob lol... It's still heavy rain in Qld today (been a lot this year) Can't see the Labor Party stopping it for some reason. weather is weather, climate is climate hahahaha, the rediculous 'Covid' rules put the pressure on people everywhere, and That is the reason people are struggling and Wanted a change. fricken flu. Worst named NZ horse today at Rangiora after all that ??? must be 'LooksLikeATrixter' in race 6.
  14. Was asking as last year Classie Brigade had the trail behind Copy That in the NZ Cup and couldn't take advantage. STEEL THE SHOW (who trailed 3 back the fence) ran past him into 4th for the 'Diamond Dunn' team and wasn't too. far from the top ones in Self Assured and South Coast Arden who filled the placings. Good picking tonight then Walt ! you're on a winner. As for the Cup , he'd have to be HANDS DOWN like to qualify from loose class in Autumn to get in the Cup and win in the Spring. Hand's Down only one I can think of who did it .
  15. Com, on Walt ?? You are seriously picking something obscure to stop the ALLSTARS NZ Cup winning streak. ?? Zip, Zero, Nought, Buckleys and almost none I rate your chance . Granted I got surprised by ' Copy That' did stop the brilliant run of 6 Allstars wins in a row, last year 2021 , so I lost my little investment. SELF ASSURED a clear 2nd on that occasion (thought he was a certainty) as defending Champion without a handicap. (unlikely to happen again.. lol very likely SA win this year.) SPANKEM 2nd for the previous 2 years has come back in good order . Hope he goes close as always gives his best. My question for you (Brodie, Ranga or other) is " Why hasn't NZ's leading Stable got any chances in this race ?? The NZ Cup. Classie Brigade still there ? as (Dunn;'s) best ? as a 9 year old ? after running 3rd in 2019 . Now 50-1 ??? lol.... Where are their Up and Comers ? Or do they just do 'Big Trots' these days and leave the Pacing to Nat and Mark to keep gathering the wins ?
  16. What a great win there for Westburn Grant in this above race. There's Vinny Knight pouring on the pressure with SINBAD BAY , who was nearly the best Tassie racer since HALWES , who won a Miracle Mile in the 60's. There's also the Interdominion flavour of some famous NZ silks running too. The Diamonds of Dunns and the famous Blue Spots of Roy and Barry Purdon . Roy and Barry WON 5 of the next 10 Miracle Miles after this Vic Frost one to round out the century !! incredible !!
  17. Fantastic NZ TROTTER summary there Walt !!!!!!!! loved it, remembering some Greats. I came in to harness, just after Easton Light so missed seeing him. YES indeed, ..... "Sundees Son" has lifted the bar into the Stratosphere ! nobody is beating him at all, trotting 2 miles in 3.56. whatta superstar. AND to give the Aussies a plug , Maori's Idol raced against Pacers many times like Scotch Tar did in NZ, and had a 2nd to Rip Van Winkle In a Group 1 in Brisbane. quite an astonishing achievement . Also won 24 odd races on the 'trot' (great Pun fully intended lol ) The late great Graeme Lang swept the floor with "Scotch Notch" for a few seasons , winning the Interdominion in Auckland along the way against Jenner and Sir Castleton. and to add to your list we saw a few great mares always straining everything in chasing some of your list of greats and getting the money too on occasion, "Framalda," "Thriller Dee", "Special Pride" "About Now" and more.............
  18. Does seem a tough ask as she gets late on in her career. Fellow mares Black Caviar and Miss Andretti did the UK trip but as fine Sprinters they could strut their stuff and win there with natural raw ability (as Sprinters so often do ) whereas Verry Elleegant has a lot of tuning and luck needed for the longer distance contests, making the task a whole lot harder. Is very sad the original owners are 'getting out' instead of biting the bullet and going with the ownership majority decision. The Best way to handle the 'requests ' of large ownership groups is by ballot and majority rules. just have to suck it up if minority request, or buy into them (horses) with less partners. Even racing with 3 others in quarter shares has 'issues' . People always want different things like favourite courses, distances , jockeys (even trainers get discussed vigourously at times) Everyone is different. Overall though , Bless the horse that she stays safe and runs well , esp. with VE being a magnificent Melbourne Cup Winner . What a ripper she is.
  19. Made me laugh Brodster. you are proven on the money with this one !! lol.. as many drivers in Queensland left the industry in the 90's when stewards 'pursued' whip rules with great vigour. many left the industry including self . They all wanted to win races. And a couple of drivers did Indeed tell the stewards to stick the whip rules up their arse as you suggested , lol. And then they both promptly got 3 month suspended !! hahaha
  20. think the Tassie harness racing scene, has a few issues regarding racing stock that are not that great. stuff to Great to see Natalie winning some amongst the fab Canterbury trainers NZ. Her sister Vicki Rasmussen is still doing exceptionally well in Queensland. Won again last week with old kiwi horse she leased , Auckland Cup winner TURN IT UP. 4th win this year in the open class ranks. still running 1.54 odd.
  21. Why Brodster ? didn't she win 2 out of 2 last time ? shes the bees knees. Blacks A fake rules !!! lol... Dis I say great response to Nina mate ? I f not , well done . Good to see you with great post there lol.....
  22. If only that was true.!!! Not sure why you attack Chief for expressing an opinion on platform that he puts there for you to denounce harness racing (yet again) Your scenarios are actually very rare. I do remember the Galah pointing out a Rogerson one (your scenario 2) which happened a year or two ago . which was pretty accurate 'MeetMeIn Serrento' the benificiary. Happy Sunrise actually accused Blair Orange of killing a horse (total rubbish , not his doing at all) on another site that completely stopped all comment there , which really sucks . but why are so people so mean ? How about you post your favourite horse and driver (s) to get a Positive vibe going ?????????????????? I'll lead out with " i'm in love with Nat " lol..... can anyone there beat the fine QLD lass ??
  23. You sure sleep alot Mikey lol. Michael House 10 starters for 1 win, 2 x 2nds, 2 x 3rds, ... smack on the law of averages from weight of numbers. nothing to see there.
  24. Is why you need just mile and mile and a quarter racing . More of an even pattern emerges (based on barrier draw) Is why you Don't need just mile and mile and a quarter racing. Gets boring like Menangle , Brisbane , America etc ...... The NZ racing is so much more 'Interesting' to view , with the out-dated standing starts, grass, long distance racing and all that sort of stuff. Criticise it , yet still enjoy it !!! lol..... Here here Mr Galah, Cannot wish this guy enough winners , with what he does around the nation , not only helping young drivers become good ones, helping owners place horses where they can win And supporting clubs like Manawatu to keep going . MH the modern legend. Also admire the great results of the HOPE team. what a sterling job they are doing as mentioned above by many posters. Did you enjoy the Aussie raider taking Messenger Mr Galah?? what a ripper. Hope someone has a crack at Auckland Cup from Aussie in true GAMMALITE style !!! (He knocked off Bonnie's Chance to win one lol....)
