That horse piece of crap . took a lot of peoples money . bad for harnessracing. needs a cup or three of coffee maybe.
-
Well don't ever bet NED KELLY again. couldn't keep up down the backstraight? . countries Leading trainers ? with top driver. oh dear. I'm not having another bet after losing $20 on that and I am a fan of NZ harness racing !!! imagine how part time supporters feel with that horse in from $6 to $3.80 fav on Sportsbet. Am Just wait for Flemington tomorrow when more competitive lol..... no wonder harness support is fading. .
-
Well there goes the first . ELOEL looked to be cruising home turn (then only 4th) , but ALL the Blair Orange fans got the bickies instead. what is all that about? Oh dear. com'on John !! 4th is not gunna pay the bills ! lol......
-
Had a crack on ARAWA park Rotorua once . thought was gunna die, and horse would gallop for sure ! hitting like 50cm+ holes and all. Had to hook foot right through the sulky stirrup so didn't bounce out of cart. truly scary experience really lol. ran 2nd by some miracle after all that , albeit 4 lengths from winner lol.....
-
and enjoying with fathers day camembert and a lovely 28 degree Qld day , now ready for some winners !!! Has Brodster Ever tipped winners here ? can't recall any. High strike rate from Gamma with both QLD derbies Kukeracha galloping and American Dealer pacing tipped , along the AMAZING dream . how can you lose with experts like this around the place.?lol Thanks Forbs !!! i'll be on the quinella with Big bad John on NED KELLY , in that case .
-
Well John Dunn won big for me last week and with Classie Brigade from the pole , should nearly win again. Surprised Sundees Son beaten last week ?? maybe get beat again then ? John owes me for NED KELLY in the 3rd race. drove it colder than a freezer last week . home he goes today? Davis (a good judge) and others tipped Sod's Law last week. good 2nd . Wins this week ??
-
With Whippy around you need it !!!!!!!!!! and I'll raise you 2 bottles of bubbley for the day and only 2 pm here . where is the Addington tips to help me along ??? Just doing Flemington form instead . TOFANE my best , she's a sweety, and has got me buckets in past races. lol

just a minor correction . It was the 1971 Interdominion at Addington that Junior's Image won from the 'promoted ' winner STELLA FROST . a worthy winner anyway off handicap 24yards. 1974 saw Phil Coulsons sentence reduced by 2 years 10 months , (as probably feeling guilty about the absolute SEVERITY of it all) , getting the biggest NZ DQ ever handed out. But the damage was done , Phil had gone 'fishing' and never recovered from the nobbling of his horse ,such a sad thing. How lucky were the Dunn's then ?

If you are being honourable why bring up something that happened 8 years ago? hahaha i bring up stuff from 30 years ago all the time, must be Disgracefully dishonourable ? lol.... Things have been going on for years Chief, don't have to sweep under the rug. Nz trainers are fairly honest , horses get swabbed ,etc ? that's the proof you need. I'm still having difficulty believing the Dunn's got off in 2017 with a fine and having horses disqualified for Caffeine ?? meanwhile the Australian Coulson winning the 1972 Interdominion with Junior's Image got SEVEN years disqualified for caffeine ? OMG i've gone back near fifty years now !!! must be condemned , raving loony , dishonourable now lol...........

You don't let up do you?! The case in 2013 was environmental contamination The Galah would be an awesome Stipe as you know Chief , attention to detail won't get past him. drivers would have No chance with him on the panel !! lol..... Funny you should mention that Karrots as was just looking at MIKE BERGER training record . seems fairly moderate for such an experienced trainer . (150 wins past decade from 2000 starters odd) racing in slower grades mainly too. I was surprised , as he did have fine youngsters one after another in the 80's . being an excellent horseman. Mike did the initial work with LIGHTNING BLUE . He won first up for Mike in a 2 year old race Cambridge summer 1985 a night I was attending , BLUE sold for $40k straight after that win, and I was on plane with Blue flying out shortly after as it panned . Wonder what Mike was thinking when exactly 2 years later (as MY LIGHTNING BLUE) then flew back in to Addington and won the Interdominion Grand Final 87 !!!!!!! and later that year the NZ CUP 87 !!! Yet another fine horseman that prepared horses for someone else to get all the glory. so many NZ trainers have suffered that fate.

Just looking at results tonight and the races were won by Barry Purdon (with 3 winners) and David Butcher along with Telfers partnership as well. Some of the best horsepeople in the country with amazing training and/or driving records. The other winners were Mike Berger, Dr Luk Chin and roger Villiger who have all been training winners for absolute decades , and supporting the industry well . Congrats to them all on some more winners!!!!!! Where is the sad bit ?. Very high quality horsepeople getting good results.

Hey we had the big Plunge this week at Albion. The 2 new kiwi horses were in action ALTA SENSATION and HECTOR . you would know them if follow Nz form. Hector from Barry Purdons the other bloke South Island. Anyway ALTA SENSATION cruised in at $1.40 with everyone on it apparently , AND all and sundry had backed HECTOR in from $3.40 to $1.70 , and then it got Run Down by a head ,on the line. !! Who plans theses things ???? fail...... so bit of a plunge into the toilet !! lol instead of a holiday pool at the resort we were planning !! lol...... -

Thanks for that result ! didn't think Captain Lee would of won it , as would of remembered. Interesting Clive Herbert horse 4th there in GN Derby , we liked , and chatted to Clive to go to Oz with it, REDCLIFFE PASS ,but Not for Sale (as Clive pretty wealthy) he had a 2nd with Metal Mickey a few years before that, in the GN Derby with that 3 yearold too. man i'd be like a Pig in Mud to wallow through your cartons of harness stuff. lol... hours (days/weeks) of fun lol..... just had in another quick funny NZ experience now that was thinking of Jim Smith and Captain Lee. One year early 80's ,Jim got this horse from the South Island and I was on high-school holidays . So Jim says to me , come down NewPlymouth and we'll win with this filly and make a quid and have couple of great days away. SILKY SUE . what a hoot it turned. Silky Sue form in South Island at Dalzell's was 00000 in the racebook!! from memory, so we were thinking 20-1 and the likes . Sue gets the Win ok, down at Taranaki there ok,,,,, BUT someone let the cat was out of the bag . I laughed for days as she paid $2 w / $1 pl , I think. hahahaha -

Congrats on the win TW !! great job. ! sorry I can't remember THE SICILIAN , but probably raced against him at times, back in the ruck somewhere lol...... Do remember your winner on Punt though. The very last time I went to Alex Park I flew over to look at a horse, and went along on GN Derby prelude night with trainer Jim Smith . His fine 3 year-old CAPTAIN LEE won this night too, (had won a few in a row) and might have been favourite for the Derby the following week. (Way too expensive for me to buy lol.....) Here is a very old racebook page I have, with I have noted Little Buckaroo trained by Roy and Barry ,still driven by Tony too, running 2nd to no less than INKY LORD !!! who went on to Win the NZ Cup later that year !! wow! (guess he won the GN Derby then ??) I returned to Oz before the GN Derby final so missed it. Maybe Little Buckeroo won it. -

And Nice Win !!! no surprise with the track dirt. Qld sees you get a bucket of 'horse sweat' in your face and colours during every race with the warmer weather lol..... used to enjoy washing horse after so could have a rinse off yourself sometimes lol. -

Well if Taupo didn't get the kiwi punters a winner some great racing at Sandown today to get rich. My mate Matty Cartwright already plucking the 3rd race at 8-1 with his claim. wahoo. Plenty of good claiming riders to get on today .Guinea's runner in the second last as well CAMBOURNE will be hardToBeat ! -
and you are all pondering which is faster now? African Bush Elephant can get to 40 km/h , but White Rhinoceros can hit 50km/h if cut loose !! hahaha...
-
Well the ELEPHANT from NZ might of gone under by a nose/head in the Group 2 Feehan Stakes at Moonee Valley last Sat, But stable-mate RHINOCEROS won today at Sandown by 3 lengths at $4 odds. !! very nice. For Emma Lee and David Browne. I imagine they are kiwi trainers? how did they go in NZ ? going pretty well over here in Oz

Your first success always stick with you as a great experience i guess. Knocking off a childhood hero (the countries leading trainer Barry Purdon) with very first horse leased at your very first drive was a bit of a thrill. -
Finally a reason NOT to emigrate to Australia!
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Yes , that is fair enough Chief. It's the carrier issue that is pressing as well as 'self preservation' . My kids are older and working in the city, so had vaccine. I can't be bothered at present, but they keep insisting "Go Get it." lol.. In the future , when a large actually really dangerous virus occurs , a huge chunk of people will be wiped out , like a bigger scale Spanish Flu that killed millions a century ago , with people of all ages. I'm not anti-vax or Pro vax. I gave the kids Menningoccal vacine when high-schools issued it . Another nasty thing that is best to avoid. Polio vaccines are great ! saved thousands from lifetimes of suffering . But make no mistake VACCINES are poison. some will react to it. It kills cells. Chlorine in the water supply destroys cells too. It is a Poison . But you could stop your kids swimming for a while I guess (to avoid injesting Chlorine, and drink distilled water instead of tap-water poison. Not worth worrying about !!! The kids ten step outside and start sucking in the TRAFFIC fumes in the air anyway . another 50 toxins the body has to deal with. then they start drinking alcohol and killing a few Brain cells . Worry about a pitiful little vaccine after that ??? Naaaahhhhh. pass. -

Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
take whooping cough for example. A vaccination is given three times to infants in their first year. A Whooping cough epidemic breaks out every 3-4 years in Australia now as people Scared off from vaccines these days. (rate of immunisation dropped from 95% to 90% recent times) All ages can catch this contagious respiratory disease. It is Particularly Nasty. 1 in 100 babies die when they contract the disease . It is brutal. Doctors that treat these tiny victims say this >>>.>>> "100% of those that didn't vaccinate, WISH they did , once they see their baby in the throngs of not being able to breathe , and the terror that goes with it" -
Yes those boys train out of the same track barn at Menangle and work their horses togeather. Very busy with a full team as getting great results. Young kiwi lad Jack Trainor might be a threat to the McCarthy domination. Funny things happen in NSW . A decade ago the states leading driver GREG BENNETT, and one of the Fitzpatrick trainers were warned off. for paying a NSW steward off , to Not swab certain winning horses at certain venues. crazy stuff. I believe Greg has served his time and applied for a licence again a year or 2 back , but was refused at that time, not sure if he has tried since. Trainer Cameron Fitzpatrick still with 2 years to go of his 12 year Disqualification. As for the steward , don't know. Probably left the country and officiating in NZ somewhere ???? lol......
