  2. Try and pick the card and get this Weeks TOP TIPPER crown !!! 3 pts for 1st places, 2 pts for 2nds, 1 point for thirds. Last week at Cambridge scores were Roman , Milo and Karrots got 18 points each ,, Chief 16 points, ,, Ritchie and Gammalite 14 points. ANYONE CAN JOIN IN , and have a crack ! Pop your tips on this thread before race 1 Thursday Waikato Bay of Plenty meeting . Good Luck to All.
  3. You have got to head Roman off yet to get a prize Karrots. The oz racing pretty ordinary to pick/bet on at the trots. So is a No Go zone. heheh Cambridge Corners !!! that's what we need. !! and Roman and Milo need to hold you off. !!! You're yapping at their heals like a little Maltese Terrier. lol....
  4. Love the junior drivers races too Karrots !! usually some fun tactics lol... Tony Herlihy mopped the floor with these in his day. This of course has to be the next 'Meeting' for your championship ! Gammalite is getting a kicked ass , and needs to toughen up a bit ... heheh surely can get at least 2 points from Demolition Man !! lol. BRODIE is in Race 2 !! good to see him having a go just like Gammalite (90 wins). could be win Number 1. for him and he is on his way to catching up . lol. and my pick last week sounds like a good Queenslander ! and finished hard late. HEZACROCWATCHER !! he should get me points this week.??
  5. , I would think that it is hard to remove posts that are fiction and/or cause offence to some as would not be much left. after the fact The lead Headlines on this thread were very harsh against a young driver , and insulting to various groups as expressed after. Many expressed their displeasure at this , INCLUDING yourself. so that very well counteracts you saying the site could be a haven for that behaviour. So all is good. My thoughts are it was a GREAT Ben Hope drive !!, and he did everything but win the race. ! (He was 1 length in front 100 out after charging to the lead turning for home) retarded driver was given a warning by Chief and asked to take it somewhere else , rather than post like that. No reflection on the site at all.
  6. Just as in STAR WARS , with the evil 'Emporor Palpatine' and Alter Ego 'Supreme Leader Snoke' (pictured) trying to take down the heroes Skywalker and Han Solo, you have 'Forbury' and his Alter Ego 'Retarded Driver' trying to destroy and eliminate Mark Purdon, Ben Hope and anyone else from this Rebel 'Driving 'Alliance of NZ Harness racing not worthy of being in their Empire !!!!
  7. Vic Frost 80 this year, living legend. still training winners out of his Westburn Grant broodmare Frostiness each month, Hunter , your kiwi mate Frank Bennett Won the trot on Friday at Albion.!! driving still in his 70's. Amazing man ! wife still training 4 trotters. Frank started out in 60's and left NZ 2010.
  8. Wow ! I just tuned in for the one race at Nelson / richmond today and just have to say what a perfect 10/10 drive from one of your best TIM WILLIAMS , from the outside gate with OFF N GONE just now. !!! No doubt helped by the very pro-active drive by May on BOOM , but still, what a great effort from Horse and driver.! Have to get going early in those 1 mile races, so very tricky as you say. Even in the regional area's the driving standard is exceptional. !! (less Forbury watching HOPE in action)
  9. hahah Yes, I lost the Cambridge tipping Last night too, !!! lol. nearly picked CRAZY though...... lol Just so people know that YOU are a VERY hard Marker . (on man and beast for some reason) here's what happened ................(Hey I do know something afterall !) EXPENSIVE EGO drew 10 near the outside, was 3 wide for 1/2 lap , to the death seat , then beaten 1/2 a Snotter right on the line (by the 1 x 1 trail horse) coming home in a blistering 54.3 seconds . 1.50.9 mile. A BLOODY BRILLIANT losing effort Forb's . Once again , being $1.30 (1.20 QLD) fav Does NOT mean you automatically win.
  10. And with the Sweet Lou winner 'THEE OLD BOMB ' winning for you too. You are THE BOMB Karrots !!!
  11. Hey Brodster, must tell you all in case you didn't realise (and others), And Hope NZ follows suit. THIS VERY Racing SEASON changed in Australia Harness, to be the NEW SEASON literally starting January 1st. We now run on the Calender year as the Harness racing Season. So on JAN 1st all the yearlings foaled in late 2018 have now just turned 2. And are actually 2 . SO The past season the 2 year olds raced from Sept 1st 2019 right up to DEC 31st 2020 (16 months) They turned three from Jan 1st just gone. This year they will have trials for 'Yearlings' towards the end of year , so READY TO RACE this time next year as brand New 2 year olds (that get the Bonus of being Able to race the whole year as a 2 year old now instead of just the 8 months) from now on.
  12. Hahahaha your Mr BOOMBastic mr bean dance moves Karrots , to celebrate the win. !! well done.
  13. Yes I finally yield and have to agree, great to see them AS 'back with the field ' for good racing's sake . (Those two LA ROSA G1 races were great at Auckland as she tried to hold ALLstars out, narrowly missing Dec. Today Didn't the old FIXER go well too, and 'Copy That ' easy in the end and very well deserved as you said.
  14. Yes a very unusual driving engagement on Italian Lad for a driver with only 200 odd drives, made by Cullen ? Allstars ? somebody ? lol. Mark Purdon had All sorts of difficulties 2 starts ago driving that horse and had to make excuses to the stipes at Auckland. Pulled hard last start too for McKendry. Not a great drive for the young lass. Maybe stable losing the Plot ??? lol.....
  15. A few of the 501's coming home to NZ, helped form the Comancheros. Nat was rejected as had wrong 'colours' of Blue and silver.
  16. A very slow start to the transition it seems. New trainer not present for kickoff of the new set-up opening night. Gone 'home' early , not a lot of big race-night mentoring at this stage. ??
  17. Yes , I was a huge Allstars Fan , as their results terrific (Interdominions, NZ Cups and Auckland Cups all over the place) But those colours were Nats and Marks colours. Where are Cullen's? . some owners have their own colours like at the Gallops. Grant Dixon has a major owner of dozen or more of his team so wears those owner silks often, while his wife drives in their Dixon colours, (they often have 2 horses in the one race) The Allstar colours aren't the owners, so why Cullen not having his own ? and Why did they send him home ? poor bugger. The promise of so much , but 2 stabs already..... poorbugger. Hope you win our Bet tonight then Karrots ! lol and Allstars miss out
  18. Thank you for the explanation. I have just finished looking up what SAFE is, the world does need Animal Rights Groups for sure. I guess what Brodie is saying (and myself) was that taking a hand off a rein in a race , is so 'Minor" in the great scheme of things. So PEDANTIC is indeed what I was thinking , so apologies for any offending comments. You are saying it is infringing the 'Rules' and should be sanctioned, hence your report of un-penalised Drivers. FAIR enough I spose. Stewards/stipes actions are ALWAYS debateable , Just look through the threads BOAY and you can see. !! hehehe The whip debate continues, AND you are correct , Manydrivers don't learn actually, I wrote somewhere about how many jocks and drivers 'retired' due to Whip rules changes. I finished a race with the reins in one hand 90% of the time, same as others in the 90's. Hard to change to some pansy rules they brought in and that ended careers. so a touchy subject with me sorry. Animal Activists have been helping Oz recently!!, The Big Abbotoir at Brisbane had people charged with animal creulty and horses are being 'Homed 'now after retirement from racing , rather than being 'Dogged" Horrid shit place in the world that abbotoir is. Animal Activists should take a look at the Grand National at Aintree, absolutely Jaw Dropping those videos, wow!! makes taking one hand off the rein so petty to me, (And Brodie, who says more important human issues to worry about he could tell you about)
  19. Yeah , bit of a tragedy that Cullen can't get some glory. Maybe they can mix the numbers up in the feature race tonight on the three runners , (like amatuer stablehands), and then the Trainer woud have to stay from then on, and get things done properly.
  20. Not normal. Bloke Shoud have his Own colours as a Trainer. Very strange that Mark and Nats colours still going on horses . Interestingly Karrots , in Brisbane the DRIVERS (about 20 regulars) who go around in most races , just keep their own colours on for the day's racing , that are a good fit and comfortable . (some even with short sleeves here in warm Brisbane) Makes perfect sense. Of course an occasional OWNER (like at the gallops) wants to see his colours go around , so they will do that for him/her too.
  21. I was excited for him too !! as never heard of him but Training a Big Race winner is a great honour. Now he is sent Packing BEFORE a defining moment ?? Musn't be the new Head of things at all, Just another Worker.
  22. Well that is just plain ridiculous. Cullen Was actually IN THE NORTH , looking after those Waikato racing horses, and flew out today Before the race??, that could be his First GROUP 2 as a Trainer ??? to work Babies?? , why not work them at the weekend then. Enjoy the Friday Race Moment surely?. That is just Gob-Smacking. Surely he needs to be there to dish out the Driving Instructions ? (tongue in cheek) the staff left at home must be shit, can't look after the "babies' extra couple of days. Good grief.
  23. R1 Storms Acoming R2 Dixie Reign R3 Isaac H R4 Kowhai Park R5 Sunny Petite R6 Ruby Mach R7 Majestic Man R8 New York Minute R9 Self Assured ( Spankem 2nd (or 1st) ) hard to know which one. R10 HezaCrocwatcher R11 Sweet Treat (for all the' Sweet Lou' fan's in town! ) R12 Phoebe Imperial
  24. Albion Park Sat night ? hehehe (just kidding) Gammalite always looking for an edge on rivals hehehe
  25. Good Work Basil Indeed......hahaha You're not becoming UNHINGED on this topic are you ??? either A / the stewards aren't 'doing the job' to your satisfaction B/ Heaps of drivers don't drive as well as you like with the whip rules (and have learning difficulties) C/ Whip work is your favourite subject (and I can see from your 'research' and the posts here is a BUGBEAR topic.) D/ All of the above. D is the answer !!! Gammalite says If you ban whips, deafeners, yelling, (anything that makes the horse Go Forward when you want it to,) the races will not be viable. i.e NO PUNTER will back anything that doesn't at least' look like' they are trying to Win . These Drivers are amazing mate and doing the very Best they can ? (for a living and your entertainment) they don't deserve your criticism . (sorry,.... but GAMMALITE is Always on the Drivers side hehe) I agree that the stewards are STUFFING UP with the penalties.....lol . Fancy suspending and fining Sam O and Tim Williams (2 of your very best) in that Dec 11 th Group 1 race. What a lot of BOLLOCKS !!!!! lol.
