  1. On the Hrnz website...Guerin talking to Nat Rasmussen about the plans for the horse ....will run in the Kaikoura cup, but only if it's held at Addington.
  2. The prospect of the Kaikoura Cup,,,,at Addington!!!. Well I hope some common sense prevails.
  3. Is this a recruitment drive for a desperately sad, tired old site?
  4. Keep on posting. Arden needs to be put in the spotlight.
  5. One of the most dreadful sports announcers ever.
  6. I've got to wonder why it took until 9.45p.m to post the stewards report from the meeting. It's not the biggest document in the world. Perhaps happy hour intervened?
  7. Ludwig has much bigger fish to catch. some computer science nonces have attempted to complete my unfinished 10th symphony and I'm on the warpath.
  8. At one stage there was talk of racing Tuapeka at Oamaru. Just crazy. I wonder if they know where any of these places are Assuming that the Tuapeka club still has local committee involvement, the best places to race would be Roxburgh or even Wingatui. But going all the way to Invercargil? How many Tuapeka locals will turn up?
  9. Last week the Gore gallops were held at, of all places, Gore. This week, the Gore harness races are at Wyndham. I know the powers that be have decreed this, but why?
  10. As someone who has spent many years in this sort of work, I welcome even the smallest step
  11. Thanks. I see my mistakes. The troops are very patient with my culinary disasters, but this may lead to a change of fortune
  12. I agree entirely re a Timaru meeting. One meeting in Gore on Friday is hardly enough at this time of year, for the whole of the South Island.
  13. The rivers south of Oamaru are particularly plentiful at the moment. Sadly my attempt at fritters the other day was less successful.

    Hutt park

Wow. Thanks for that. It's so before my memory period. I remember being dragged down there as a kid because some top horse was racing. But all I was interested in was the hot dog stand, and races up and down the steps . I was the problem child, so I probably was there for some of those horses.
  15. Now that both harness and gallops race meetings have moved away from the course, has anyone hear about the future of the site?

Best horse you can recall doing the rounds of Hutt Park
  18. What an excellent thread. Got through it without anyone letting rip at me.
  19. Ludwig, getting a complement?? Shock, horror...I must be good more often
  20. What an excellent days racing. Hope you all made a wee bit. I've even made enough to feed the whanau. I like Winton, a good big roomy track which gives all runners a chance.
  21. Was there any thought of moving to Omoto or was that not an option?
  22. Yes they are good fields . My strategy is simple ... follow the Williamson's.
  23. Thanks for the pics. I certainly remember those tight bends. Oh for the days when you could get a crowd that size
  24. Do you know if any horses are still trained there?
  25. That's sad, because for some reason I enjoyed the races from there. Not sure if it was the hair raising bends, or listening to Ian Chambers sneeze mid commentary.
