  1. Great work today on calling such a big card. And best of all, not one mention of the Chief, the Iceman or any of those other tiresome nicknames.
  2. At least that's been allocated to Addington and not Cambridge, as some of our greedy northern friends were hoping
  3. And I'm sure much credit must also go to Bev.
  4. How many times are they going to move the Auckland Cup?
  5. A revamped jewels at Addington in December.
  6. Jewels, revamped , are at Addington in December.
  7. Agree. And good call by Matty to put him on his horse. That must do wonders for the young guys confidence.
  8. Well done to Kaleb on his first winning drive. He's copped some flak for earlier drives, but well done to him. And credit to Phil W for sticking by the lad.
  9. So, Invercargills cup is to go up to $100,000. I'm pleased for them as they're one of the anchor places in the country for harness racing. But Cambridge gets $500,000 on a race, because?????
  10. Hrnz, judging by the 2022 calendar outlined today, seem more interested in pouring buckets of money into the flagging Auckland/Cambridge scene . A half million dollar race for Cambridge in April . How exactly does that boost numbers at grassroots??
  11. You mean, you want them to show leadership, intelligence, initiative??
  12. I often wonder why the Interdoms are still being run. Thirty or so years ago, they were a big deal, now they seem like another meeting squeezed into the calendar.
  13. I agree. I thought the houses were more obvious than usual. I suppose I kept fearing that some poor soul would step out on to the deck of their place in the all together, and that would be a new meaning to the term, " racing handicap".
  14. It looks like Matty has got a good one with Minnie McGoogan. Nice win.
  15. I notice that Wilson House is appearing as a junior driver at Manawatu on Tuesday. This continues a trend of most of the junior drivers coming from established racing families. e.g Sarah O'Reilly, Carter Dalgety, the Tomlinson's, Ellie Barron, Ben Hope, to name just a few. Just curious as to how hard it is for someone from a non racing family to get a start, and are there any of the current or recent junior drivers who fit that category??
  16. Well, I suppose something good had to. Unlike the planners who planned the new subdivision on the old course land. How many people per square inch have they tried to shove in there?
  17. I've been giving this some serious thought while I dozed. I think it's the legacy of that ill fated Roman agriculturalist, Muchus Controllicus.
  18. It looked a pretty decent track today, with winners coming from all over. The Te Akau three year old looked particularly smart and I wonder who is being targeted to ride him in the guineas. It certainly makes a difference having quality riders like Lisa Allpress and Kozzi Assano there.
  19. I take it Mr Brodie, that you're not the sponsor of race 4at Manawatu on Tuesday??
  20. My sport is tennis. In a word, I would describe Sky's coverage as hopeless. If they have the rights to the tournament, then show it, not just endless replays of the same match.
  21. It doesn't take much to confuse me, but the current situation with drivers and masks is baffling . Some have full masks on, like a bank robber...others have them under their chin, and others have nothing. This is during prelims and races. What is the policy? Is there one? Are they required to wear them? If so, why as they're outside?
  22. How long is self isolation going to last? I don't notice anyone bleating that you are hijacking "their" thread.
  23. I hope one of the powers that be could explain the reasoning for this?. Is this what the club wanted, is it what Invercargill wanted, or is it the decision of some numpties with darts and a map of the South?
  24. I've just moved to a place which has Sky TV. The first thing I saw as I switched on was Guerin. I Found the off button very quickly.
  25. No. I can't think of anyone who needs winding up
