    Blenheim

Can someone please explain.? Blenheim has an All weather track, but it's recent harness meetings were held on the grass . What is the point then of having an All weather track if it's not going to be used?
  2. How did the meeting with Bernard and co go? Did you get any progress?
  3. Try and discuss the issue, not just get nasty.
  4. Every time I read this headline, I keep thinking, why does Reefton need a greyhound track?
  5. So the decision has been made that Dunedin gets no new harness venue. No plans to move in at wingatui, no plans for a new venue. But with most of the chattels sold, and still the land and buildings to be sold, we are talking big money. Who's going to get the money? Try reading through all the waffle and good intentions, my cynical nature smells something rotten.
  6. Well I do think that those in officialdom who want Kumara and other Coast tracks to be raced on the AwT at Riccarton, should identify themselves. Why would anyone who supposedly cares about racing, want to destroy such iconic venues and racing?

  8. To be fair to Mr Rodley, he is incredibly skilled at putting me to sleep .
  9. Is the return of Mr Pitman to Greymouth a sign of an improvement in his relations with the club?
  10. It feels like a genuine race meeting, and not some PR event orchestrated for TV

    Kango??

Don't know where Omakau is? Just the nightlife capital of NZ.
  12. It looked a cracker.i couldn't see you in the tug of war.
  13. I hear it's been very good for stocktaking the grog, and thus seeing what supplies need to be ordered

    Reefton

Great track, facilities look in top order, the crossing seems to be giving no issues. And no need for a silly $900,000 race to try and persuade people to get on track. Come on the North, lift ya game.

  15. Missing your besties??
  16. And if we do have a race for such a stake, then I'm in favour of it going to a decent, roomy track like Winton or Wyndham.
  17. Agree totally. The Gore one was a shocker, and several horses I backed took a gallop. The crossings are very poor.
  18. Secretly, I believe Mr Brodie is a key member of Cindy's cabinet. Nanaia Mahuta, perhaps, or possibly Kelvin Davis?
  19. Like the Village People?
  20. I still don't understand, what exactly is a tosser rider?
  21. No thx. He was dreadful. Even my marble race commentaries were of a higher quality.
  22. I agree that new commentators like Messer's Teaz and Wood should have been looked after much better. Obviously with modern technology, the commentator is much more under the microscope than in the days of the legendary Bill Cherry , when there were no TV cameras to confirm his call. On a different note, whenever I attend Oamaru racecourse, I never sit directly under the commentators box____at some point in the distant past the floor/ceiling gave way. I've never found out the details, but I like to think that maybe it was a primitive form of commentator disposal seat. Perhaps we could reactivate.?
  23. I grew up in Palmy, so I remember Alan Bright. He lived very much in the shadow of Peter Kelly, who was the one I based my childhood marble commentaries upon.
  24. I like how he could put as much energy and enthusiasm into a maiden trot, as he did for the big races. A bit off subject but I hope Reon Murtha is happy and well in his retirement.
  25. I hope they make it a condition of the race that the clown, Aaron white, is not allowed to make one reference to the Wizard, the Magic Man, or any other of his pet names for his boys, but just try and commentate a race.
