  1. One gallops meeting, and wow, the trackside presentation is,,,,,"inspiring"....like listening to a Mahler symphony.
  2. Calling Bradley W a chump? He's anything but.
  3. The problem doesn't seem to be affecting harness drivers in the same way?
  4. Re Wingatui, is that the dual code meeting on Anniversary Day? If so, the harness have half the card.
  5. The big question which has not yet been addressed___in what way is the virus and the vaccine responsible for the early appearance of my spring freesias ?. I sense there is a conspiracy.
  6. It was at the start of the stewards report for the next Southland meeting___under the heading of follow up action. I read the report on the Hrnz website.
  7. In your view, what is the agenda of this fella? If he's too busy to do his job of calling trials, what's he still doing in the industry?
  8. I have to confess to being totally baffled as to the logic behind this weekends 2 Auckland meetings. The Auckland cup used to be New Year's Day, then it moved to midweek in March, now it's on a Sunday in March. I know I am slow, but where's it headed next? What's the reasoning behind all the moves?
  9. I would alter the title of the thread to ,"there's too much racing at Addington and Riccarton." Plenty of demand at other venues in both codes. Perfectly good venues and tracks sitting under utilised. And plenty of good holes in the fence for me to climb through, to avoid the vaccine pass police.
  10. Even the Oamaru harness trials, which aren't the most prestigious meeting, manage to get a commentator_and does a good job.
  11. I thought the spoons had all moved to another site .
  12. It's sad to see that Oamaru's new juvenile race on Wednesday, has been canned with only two nominations. It was a good stake, but it seems that programming races with the new birthdates is proving challenging. Let's hope it gets rescheduled for later on.
  13. Yet a couple of the crappy cafes in town, which really need a new lease of life, keep on going. Funny old world.
  14. Well the poor guy has spent his whole life in Oamaru. Enough said.
  15. The purple parsnip still going strong??
  16. I think the problems of driving tactics in Southland haven't really changed much. Certain drivers with the right horse will challenge and make a race of it. For many of the others it's simply a procession at leisurely pace until the home straight. At times, very disappointing.
  17. I see that Brad gets put out for 8 days for that drive. He admitted to the charge . I am still curious as to what was behind his drive.
  18. I think the mute button is mandatory for the whole trackside "experience". Something like needing the mute button when watching the golf to avoid listening to dumb Americans yelling "Get in the hole".
  19. Agree. There's a big difference between commentators giving their own tips and preferences,,,,as opposed to them being in the first line of tipsters for each race, as Trackside uses them
  20. I do agree. I don't understand why Brad preserved with such tactics.
  21. Callers of old e.g. PeterKelly were callers first of all . Now they are callers and tipsters. At what point did this change, and which role is more important?
  22. I know I am being a smart arse...again. but all the two year olds who run around and frequent my favourite cafe are all missing. Wonderful. Long may it last.
  23. It's all highly disappointing. To hear that senior callers have their own agendas!!!____i thought naively that the growth and health of the industry should be their objective.
  24. What happened to the plan to use you as the on course caller for Manawatu harness?
  25. Do you , as a club, get any say in who does the commentating, or are you just told to obey orders from above?
