I know it's a few years since Greymouth raced at Victoria Park . Does anyone know what happened to the club and its assets. ? Did it fold, did they try and race at Omoto? Or did it all just conk out?

I think it's great there are a good number of promising young female drivers. Along with the two you mention, they go with Sarah O'Reilly and Kerry Tomlinson.

Perhaps the Dunn's have got the right idea. Have the main stable in the south, and a co stable in the north to take advantage of features.

Interesting fields for tomorrow. Each race seems to have one or two clear favourites. Does anyone see a horse or two for longer odds, to try and spice things up a bit?

A number of new drivers in the junior ranks this season. I don't see much of them. Any suggestions as to which ones may have more than average ability?

The nominations for Methven and now Mot show that there is oodles of demand for grass track racing. Leaving it until there is a brief fling over summer seems to me, too little. Have another mini circuit. And as for the north, surely one well supported race meeting a week is better than 2 pretty feeble efforts

Freda, do you know how long Ray Coupland is tied in with the C0uplands Mile? ... Especially if it's on a threatened downgrade list?

Nothing to do with the Hannon, but in Oamaru, if you call the local taxi company, your call is answered by a call centre in Malaysia.

Agree. I believe that meetings should be reallocated to where there is demand. The top of the South and the West Coast would attract more than 50. Let's call it as it is... feeble.

Very nice. But that's not the answer to the question I asked. What's the minimum number, if any ,for a meeting to proceed?

I see Cambridge has got just 50 horses going around in 7 races . I was wondering, is there a minimum number of horses that are required for a meeting to go ahead? Even Forbury park could do better in its twilight years.

I've found Oamaru to be a backrunners course. My horses tend to run at the back and stay there.

It's alarming when riders are saying the track is "hard, rough and full of holes". How does this give owners and trainers any confidence to send valuable horses and riders to a course where this is being expressed? Surely someone in the hierarchy of command must intervene?

Just trying to think of the last top line horses that came out of Timaru. There was Murray Tapper's top line trotter from 10 years ago. And there was dear old Eastwood Jaunty, but nothing else springs to mind

Excellent result for the Dunn's. Also please to see the 3Southland horse's doing well. Hopefully one or two of them can pick up a decent race in coming weeks.

Perhaps he'll get more opportunities down here to show what he's got as a driver . That's why I was interested to see him get the drive on the first starter. Good win by Majestic Lavros. It's been a good day by and large for the favourites.

I say good luck to them. It's their decision and it's a good incentive for others to aim high. It's just like Ludwig.... composed the best and it's for others to aspire to attain something similar.
