The Southern surge has got good numbers, surprisingly but the weather has been kind there this Winter that helps.

Brodie I wouldn't worry about things, if the stakes are reduced then the stakes are reduced, it would be a learning curve, Iive within your means, shame they ain't doing that now but it's not sustainable based on the income,(turnover) but at present with small fields and good stakes the few left racing horses are probably doing very well, but nothing last forever. The 2 meetings up North is not sustainable every week, I think they are starting to see that, they survive nicely at the other end of the country with 1 day, I don't even think they want any more days, just make use of the ones they have. Same things happening to some of our sport, the Netballers are slowly dieing off and unless the Rugby union can move Sky on the NPC then many in that will be taking a pay cut too, Moana Pacifica is another example, money's not plentiful for many of us, fact.

Yes but the info there you could punt on TAB with it, now the in play info is so far behind, maybe they will update, maybe not, it's the fact we've seen what others sites are like to be able to see how far our mobs set up is.

Judging by the tote pools for first 2 races the Southern Surge hasn't happened to betting, maybe things will pick up, maybe not. At least bumping stakes up they may all be trying instead of manipulating the ratings system.

Was just reading with only one meet in the North through June weekly and 2 fortnightly, some common sense there, 12 races on Friday nights at Auckland, why not one Friday night meeting, and Nelson get their 2 days in June back, maybe tieing in with Blenhiem, just a thought....Oamaru took over Forburys date in january and have another before Xmas, the real problem club is Kapiti, last January they were on a hiding to nothing racing same day as Blenhiem, I thought it was stupid , turned out it was. Southland stay the same, don't need anymore. Canterbury have plenty but whether they subsidise northern racing, that's up for debate.
