Be nice to know,we never get to see what the gallops turnover is.Westport on Boxing Day does about 1.8million in turnover making them about the fourth or fifth biggest meeting on the calander ,I'm guessing that they ain't getting their full cut of the take,must be going to someone else,I wonder who that might be.

I see some of the harness racing hierarchy are going to be at Forbury tonight,never there normally in all probability,must be money floating around or something or are they just there to celebrate the closure of another course?

Jason Pine seems a pretty reasonable sort of guy and yet hes gone,strange indeed.

Not many fields are over 12 these days,maybe they have factored that in😀,smart thinkers.

Tuesday night trackside on senz sydney,dog racing from Gosford and Warragul,yet no harness from Menangle or Albion park or anywhere else for that matter. AWESOME,.......not.

I see one of senz new recruit has been sacked for a column he wrote on womens rugby and Jason Pine has resigned,hasn't even started yet and this,sadly I got my doubts about this lot,especially their idea of trackside radio.

I wonder what stakes the harness races are going to be.

I wonder when Jones will be back.

Like it or not the lack of easy access to radio coverage has probably turned off interest as well,since radio has gone I couldn't tell you what races are on in oz on any given day,I do know what's happening in NZ,we have all our flash devices bits it's not always convieniant,after a year or so now I dont really miss it now but it must have tainted a lot of interest. On another note I do think some of the scheduling can be made better,always tinkering from season to season and still not getting it right.

Probably find tomorrow will be the same here as today.

i think the southern area has enough meetings and probably in reality so does Canterbury. There was a spike in interest this time last year when racing resumed after coved, one wonders if a complete break for a few weeks would be a smart idea.

What's happened to Foxton?

No mates the other day I posted my experience of senz app and a certain smartarse told me to stop being a moaner on all things racing not that I care anyway but here's my ovservation Firstly they have a app that we in NZ can download,it contains trackside simulcast that the TAB run plus a few stations,one station is call sen track,racing but trackside radio on a saturday arvo consist of 4 guys sitting in a studio waffling about the race just been and the race coming up,no commentaries,no results,check it out for yourself,if they try to run that sort of shit here then it wont last long,however hopefully someone over here will do better,and you are right,1 till 5 ain't long and yes I'm not the only one who's stated that the real racing starts after 5,having said that it does emphasize what a good job they did do on TAB trackside,this new setup might do good for sport,as for racing I will and we all will wait and see.

Might be ok sports wise,as for racing,not so sure.

Be fair to say when Awapuni get AWT then Wanganui might lose days

Reasonable fields for both Timaru today and Riccarton saturday,despite some average weather so in reality there is room for both days yet Timaru lose this meeting next year to Oamaru who strangely lose their day from last week to the AWT,Timaru losing three days is a bit rough,Wyndham stood up for themselves to get their days back,maybe some common sense is needed.

One thing I dont think is good is the large number of Addington sunday meetings,they get the prime friday night,leave sundays for other clubs,southland should get the sundays in spring until the grass season kicks off in Canterbury and daylight saving starts,then southland can race midweek if it need be,at least in the north it's all pretty consistent,thursdays and fridays.only exception is CD racing. Sundays really should be for smaller centers,gallops and trots.

Forbury in particular in recent times has been having some very small fields and only 8 races,a sign of the times but not a good look.

Just at present I would say weather wise,not much difference between Southland and Canterbury.

Timaru,thursday,Riccarton,saturday,its going to be interesting seeing how things pan out.

Maybe just letting the form slip to better the odds for next time.

Am I correct that jimmies pies or some of them stopped being made for a while or have stopped completely?Some of them weren't in the shop for a time. Those Irvine big pies or whatever they call them are ok.

Maybe they should just plough the whole track up ,then they all pick their way around the best they can,the smartest ones get the loot😀
