Purdons are champions - I applaud them and they are totally professional and that's why they dominate - if you can't beat them join them comes to mind

I exited harness 10 years ago after reasonable involvement but with the racing today and the stakes would never go back - rather have my current 10% in gallopers in 0z going round for $130k each Saturday but that too is bloody hard - you need good animals, very good to crack it

For me the distance - not the all stars - just mile racing just doesn't do it for me - I once liked it but 10 years on I am left cold - just don't enjoy it anymore

Advocating the inverted triangle - info from the bottom up not the top down - culture The bodies could be Trainers, Jockeys, stable hands, Punters, Owners, TAB patrons, Racecourse attendees etc etc - none listens to these groups For me races should be run from 1pm to 4pm - 8 races 25 minutes apart - no way would I go for an 11.30 start and 5.00 finish - I gave grandkids who play cricket and hockey in the morning

Bruce used to run a "punters club" on Cup Day at Addington and always went well - can't recall but think it was $50 entry and drawn races
