Yes Keryns drive on Glenthorpe, was not that well thought out! yes it wouldnt go down as some of her better work, however nowhere near as bad as O’Connells for several reasons! The interesting thing is the fact that our Junior driver that won the inter island competition this year has not won a single race in 34 drives!! The same driver had his horse disqualified From a placing at Cromwell as he went up the passing lane with a round to go! Yes there are a enthusiasts that want to drive their horses on race day, and yes they are entitled to if they have a licenses! However, if their standards are not up to scratch, then they need to be stood down. On the roads, do you condone people that are dangerous to be able to drive just because they have a license?

I have just read the stewards report for today. The race in question the stewards did actually question Denis O’Connell as to why he gave Petes Dash no cover despite having the opportunity to on at least 2 occasions! It doesnt say what Mr O’Connells reason was which will be very interesting? The stewards have adjourned the matter till a later date! There is only one reason that he could have given, which is that I am nlt a very good driver! If there is any integrity whatsoever, there has to be a indefinite suspension to the license and back to the trials for 6 months at least!

Mikey, you couldnt call it very average! It was absolutely incompetent and I believe there is a rule in harness that says the driver has to give The horse its best opportunity! Ray Reekie an amateur got a long time in the stands for a poor drive a few years ago! This drive was twice as bad as that one!

Yeah amateurs can only drive in amateur races. What constitutes a graduation driver? Someone who can sit in a cart and not have any skill? How on earth has he graduated from any academy when he can not have passed anything, going by that ? That was one of the worst drives I have ever witnessed by a harness driver! I doubt whether you could have done any worse than that on Petes Dash, but to be fair it is not the first time!!!! You were in the trail and going to be following the pacemaker and yet you couldnt steer the horse and sat parked. When you couldve haded up and get a trail, you pressed on and were under the bat and driving hard a long way out!!! FFS, if the Stipes dont suspend Mr O’Connells license for a very long time after that shocking drive, then the RIU should all be sacked. That really was a shocker and harness deserve drivers on the track that have some sort of ability and Denis you fell well short of this again. Denis, have you not realised that your Horses go better when you arent on them?

Happy, the TAB would be happy just to have Gallops and Sports Betting. The gallops has all the extras and yes harness is the poor relation. I have been told several times from TAB employees that if harness didnt exist, then then the TAB would be better off! What this unnecessary extended lockdown is doing is keeping people away from racing and some may just never return to the course. Having a look at the last race at Addington tote pools and there is a combined total of $7k for the win and place pools! There is no way On earth that the NZ TAB can guarantee that stake money is not going to be reduced with this amount of punting!

I am not talking about Bookies, Greg!!!! I am talking about harness racing!! Harness racing is at a crossroads at the moment! If the TAB can not attract new punters, then there will not be the stake money to pay anything! If the stakes arent worth running for compared to owning, then there will be no new owners etc. The TAB does not give a rats about harness racing, in fact they would prefer not to have it!!! The tote pools are pathetic, the amount you can get on is pathetic and the thing that keeps the NZ TAB going is the sports punting!

I would be encouraging wagering and not trying to get rid of punters. If you are relying on losing punters to continue to offload, then racing is buggered. The NZ TAB need to be attracting new punters for racing to remain feasable. Unfortunately the industry is becoming less Popular and needs new blood coming thru!

Boobs, even if you get Covid19, it is not going to kill you, unless you are in very poor condition in the first place! Not a single death to anyone in NZ that didnt have poor health already! We can not continue to act with scant regard to healthy people to protect people in rest homes and people already with illness!

So Ardern is caring by enforcing everyone to stay at home so that people in dimentia rest homes are kept safe? If people feel vulnerable then damn well stay at home. And 80’s Ranga!, FFS there are over 100 die of other things in Nz every day and we dont close the country!!!! During level 4 lockdown they reckon over 200 females with breast cancer werent diagnosed due to there not being testing for that! Instead there is this ramming cotton buds up peoples snouts that were not even crook!!! We have approx. 1000 people in NZ die from influenza most years but no lets control these sheep! We have got far more people with depression and mental Illness now than ever due to financial and other issues! Thats right we have to be KIND!!! Reality is that this influenza they call Covid 19 is not going to be eradicated just like the common flu, but it is ok to stuff people so that they need to rely on the government!
