So the owners feel that Averos Spitfire is worth persevering with still? I am prepared to back myself, and say that this wont be their 3rd group 1 winner! As for being in the Black, wouldnt think so?
-
So on the basis that you dont think it is sensible, why on earth was I not allowed to question the logicality of it?
-
Whiplash, if anyone is being personal, it is you! There was never any intention whatsoever of offending anyone, whether it be Mr Faulks or the owners!
-
You what? Vegan my buttocks!!! Whiplash, so you are saying that you feel that it is sensible for someone to race a 46 start 7 year old gelding that has never run a dividend bearing placing?????
-
Whiplash, think you need to have a sleep and then consider what you are asking! If I had taken $100k off someone and returned them Zilch for their efforts, then I would call myself more than a thief without any second thoughts!!! If I was a trainer of a horse that had performed so poorly for so long, there would be no way whatsoever I would still be training that horse, and collecting training fees! There are so many more horses out there that would deserve to be geared up than a horse that has had 46 starts for next to no return!!!!
-
FFS, if it has upset them both, then I am indeed unbelievably apologetic. If people have got such thin skin, then that would be a major concern! I never called anyone mental?
-
Firstly, FFS if you can not see that it was”tongue in cheek” Then your life must be a wee bit boring Whiplash! Dont know Andrew or the owners, however Andrew Faulks is a hardworking harness enthusiast I would say! As for the owners, I reiterate There is no semi logical reason to be racing a horse that has such limited ability when they could be paying the same money in training for a horse that could win stake money. Whiplash, your perogative what you call anyone, providing it has accuracy, and has nothing at all whatsoever to do with the Privacy Act! Deluded Sxxxxxx dxxxxx Cxxxxxx? Can “The Brodster” take that as you being a fan?.
-
Mehe, you surely jest don’t you?
-
Can Averos Spitfire win a race? Of course it can?. 46 starts from a rising 7 year old gelding without running a dividend bearing place, including many starts at Forbury, and you are confident that it can win a race at Addington? My sole point was that here is a horse that must owe the owners at least $100,000 you would think, racing at Addington for winning stakes of less than 4k. The gelding has never run a place and in my opinion, spending a couple of thousand Of dollars each and every month on a horse that is always an also ran, defies any logic. If the owners enjoy watching it run and being uncompetitive, just imagine how much fun they would have if they raced a horse that was a winning horse!
-
Whiplash, no personal attack, but seriously think you need a bit of counselling! This is an open forum that discusses harness topics, and whether you agree or disagree is your perogative. When you are posting you should be putting your point of view across with an open mind. It is not a personal attack on any owner or trainer whatsoever! Yes of course if the owner wants to race the horse and pay the bills,,it is their right! Yes if Andrew wants to train a horse for many years without it ever running a place it is his right! You think it is an attack on them, well it isnt, rather just pointing out in my unbiased opinion that there doesnt appear to too much sense in it!!!!!! Finally, I am not a bloody Ginger, I suggest you go to Specsavers!!!!

Forget this rascism BS that is going on at the moment, a bigger issue for all New Zealanders is the victimisation of many punters by the NZ TAB! -
Mehe, why would it piss me off? I am not paying the training bill nor backing it!
-
Personally think there is an onus on Andrew Faulks to stop training the horse as it could be classed as theft! Maybe there is a story behind why Averos Spitfire is still racing, but would be interested to hear what it was?
-
Enough to eff racing in NZ!
-
So the TAB says they have made an error and cancel any bet they want without giving a reason! The punter decides that he has made an error! Does he reserve the right to cancel his bet and get their money back? Nah!!!!
-
Hunter, what will it win? Certainly wont be a tote race at Addington! Maybe a workout somewhere! Na, doubt it has ever looked like winning a workout, unless it was on Bruce Negus’s track?
-
Averos Spitfire didnt go that bad yesterday and actually beat several home. This was due mainly to the fact that the race was run at a pedestrian pace mostly! Reality is that the horse has had 46 starts and never run a dividend bearing place, so what is the actual reason that the owners are racing the horse??? Do they suddenly think that it is going to develop some more ability all of a sudden?? Seriously, who in their semi right mind would still be running a horse without running in to a dividend bearing placing in 46 starts???.
-
I have had bets cancelled as well after they have been accepted by the NZ TAB! You put the bet on in good faith and they accept it! This would be a contract in normal terms with offer and acceptance, however the NZ TAB have it in their rules that they have the right to cancel any bet they want to, however punters dont have the same luxury or rights!,
-
Yes the figures should be published every week, to show how racing is going. Supposedly the same distribution From this season is going to be made available for next season. It is going to be very interesting how this can actually be, as turnover on racing appears to be declining on the tote, so lets see what the fixed odds turnover is!! What I do know is that the AML act BS with the $1k limit without identification is costing them big time!
-
Totally agree Galah that Sunday meetings are far better punting proposition days over the Friday nights! The tote pools are rather small at the moment, is the NZ TAB prepared to publish the amount of fixed odds wagering on each race?
-
It was actually Kerryn! Mordecai is a plugger, but does go some very good races and was a cert beaten yesterday, for a place! She made a poor decision not to press on and get the front, but you get that! Her drive was just one of many poor drives yesterday, however nothing is ever said to them by the Stipes! They are far too busy with other things arent they? Is great though, to have the Sunday racing at Addington though!
-
Galah, personally think that the lead was always there, and that was shown by how easy it was given up by Ben Hope. Yes it is easy from the stand , but There was a lot of less than average drives yesterday.
-
The last race was one of many that was not run true to form. What is the point of sitting parked out without even having a crack for the lead, when the driver of the horse in front, clearly wants to hand up To anything and trail???? There was even a pacers race of race winners, that cane the last half in excess of a minute, which is ridiculous at Addington on a fast track nowadays!
-
Would be good if they would bring them out early on every race earlier than they do. Turnover would be far better for them as well. Believe that when they do bring them out, they should reduce their margin to encourage punters to offload earlier!
-
The last race was one of the races in question! Shocking run by Luella, went like a goat, bearing in mind Ben thought it was his best drive????
