Totally agree. Generally don’t bother at all on Premier Meetings, as fields always have too much form. Also, would rather offload on a maiden or loose class field! Punting on Premier meetings will send you broke long term, especially with the one stable dominating and there being such restricted odds, not worth offloading!

As we all know, but don’t all acknowledge, is that there are some blatantly stupid rules that have been brought in over the past few years, that need overturning! Yes, this blatantly stupid rule of being able to wipe out a field and then the checked horses having to prove that they would’ve beaten the horse that checked everything! Then as everyone knows is the so-called use of the whip more than the permitted amount of 10!!! Stipes too busy trying to count how many whip taps so they can fill their coffers! The Stipes and judiciary decided not to have enquiries nowadays as requires intelligence to sort out! When their is an enquirey, they tend to take ages to decide when in most cases it is pretty simple to decide! Anyway, they make stupid decisions as well, including that one of Tony Herlihy in Auckland taking a short cut.

Would’ve been a helluva lot more sires being bred from as well! Doubt there was the domination as well by one or two sides tht we have nowadays! Bettors Delight and to a lesser degree Art Major have been dominating for too long!

Great fields with plenty of chances, and no stable domination! Ahh the good days of Harness Racing, when crowds flocked to Addington to watch the racing! Stakes were good compared to what the money could buy back then!

The fact is that Yole may have 40 horses at the one meeting which is pretty staggering, but they are probably owned by many different owners. Michael House dominates Manawatu and the fact is that the horses are owned by many different owners, so money is shared around! The fact is that the major stake money that the AllStars plunder is a,ways going to the same owners and is not spread around, outside the AllStars stable, this is what the problem is!!!! Michael House is winning races for owners that have horses that are now battlers and are not competitive generally in the South Island

The fact is that most Harness Trainers and drivers are not that financially affluent, and this BS is going to set them back many years due to costs and reputation! Paleface Adios was certainly a champion and probably a better horse! However Destreos is still racing at a far older age and has had nearly double the number of starts that Paleface had!!

Yes Destreos does deserve a decent paddock, but while he is still winning, he must still be enjoying it! He is an exceptional athlete and there will never be another horse ever win as many races again and race over so many seasons again! He won a fair percentage of his wins at Albion Park and was extremely well placed a lot of the time, often racing substandard horses on a Tuesday afternoon for not a lot of money. Interesting that he has only won $800k from over 100 wins plus places shows that he won a lot of races with pretty low stakes! Destreos, certainly one of a kind!!

Good to have enthusiasts and some horses take time as trotters, but you would have to wonder why some bother with dogs? Sunny Sunny Day, must’ve thought is was a nice Sunny Sunny Day for a wee workout!

Joe Kidd, very well written, great minds think alike! I waiting for the Darksiders to come on And have a go at us! Thing is though, I am not even going to respond to them, and hopefully they will just get bored and piss off! I do know that Trackside could be just so much better for New Zealanders than what they are currently producing! There have been galloping races today from the U.S.A. That have next to nothing in the tote pools and yet we get to see this absolute crap with leadup BS! Trackside producers, what part of no one knows anything about these horses so they can bet on them , don’t you understand????

As you know any race that has so many AllStars horses in it, is going to be controversial! The TAB needs to sort out the racing timetable and screening of races on a busy night when there are 2 Harness meetings and a dogs meeting! We were told that we were going to get a better service when we had the 2 channels but that hasn’t occurred! we need to get these starts sorted and do we really give a rats if we don’t see greyhounds walking around to their starting boxes and having a dump?? If there are 2 Harness meetings then put them on the same channel and the dogs on the other channel, as I don’t beleive that harness enthusiasts want to see the dogs races, unless they are compulsive gamblers! Get rid of the racing from U.S.A. As well as not worth the time spent on it and no one knows the damn horses anyway!! Trackside needs to concentrate on the local product!

If you look at run up to the start, you will see that Copperfield goes into a gallop! He is clearly steered to go right so that it checks horses outside of him, so that he will get a false start!! The fact is that the 2 outside of Copperfield both get checked and Vergil despite urgings was never going to be in its right spot at despatch! Yes it should’ve been a false start but the fact that it was a AllStar affair I don’t beleive that Mr Lamb really cared! You will see it all the time, when a horse Gallops in the run up, the drivers steer the horse sideways so that they check another horse, therefore getting a false start! I believe this is a major issue that one day will ave a horse injured!!

Boring as hell race as could’ve been expected! Should have been a false start but who cares as they clean up,the stake money anyway! Someone had a big punt on the favourite and got beaten! Hopefully,it was stable money!

Looking at his UDR up until 2014 he was always over .2000 and been reducing since then and now so far this year .1300 so quite a difference He does seem to drive Bugalugs on the rails all the time, and often not getting much of a go!!

Yes totally agree, Peter Ferguson doesn’t drive anywhere near as well as he used to, although that can be said for quite a few that have been driving for many years! He doesn’t drive as much as he used to, and I think he trains greyhounds now, for some reason? It was a terribly weak field tonight that Bugalugs was in, and should’ve run a place in that field on ability! Didnt back it as I thought he would be 3 or 4 back on the fence, and nowadays you don’t see too many pushing off the fence at Cambridge for some reason?

The first race and first heat of the Garrards Sires Stakes to be run at Addington on Friday night for $22k has 6 starters! It is great to see that 5 of the 6 starters are from the AllStars stable and the only other Starter is from the Robert Dunn Stable! You would wonder where the other paid up horses are, or do not many pay up for this series anymore! It looks like it could well be another 2year olds season dominated by the same AllStars Stable, as this domination is great for harness racing as can be seen by the starters in this race!

Lack of evidence? Cases against defendants are extremely weak! Legal system in NZ is pathetic, is it any wonder our courts are so chocker when it takes so long to hear cases! If there is evidence against anyone have the hearing, and get on with life! Barrister are the ones who benefit as they just keep charging! Tick, Tick Tick

Bit Of A Yarn leaves the other site for dead, but recently we have had the Darksiders come over and just here to stir, because they can get away with it! As I say there are a few that never start blogs but just like to have the regular posters on, which is a clear sign that they are out to sabotage this site! Ranga, JJ/ Farty, Cross Codes are all out to destroy this site! We should just ignore every one of their posts and they will piss off I am sure!

Let’s call a truce, and stop arguing amongst ourselves. We came over from the Darkside to get away from that crap. The Darksiders have come across just to stir us up and they are starting to do that! We Wont let them get to us, what we should do is just not respond to JJ/Fart Too Much, Basil, Cross Dresser and the normal antagonists!
