  1. Didn’t have an investment at Forbury as odds were shite due to field sizes. Opening Odds are still pretty pathetic! Didnt even back a winner at Rangiora today!!!

Does Winchester still have the Rodeo around Xmas time?
  3. Personally, from a punting perspective, would rather see some maiden races and lower class horse races in Cup Day! Far easier to punt on, as I hate form races!!!
  4. All too short. Don’t buy money!!!
  5. Four of the five inside draws! What were the odds of that? Race will be a yawn going by that! Domination
  6. Geez I know the years go quicker as you get older but FFS 72?
  7. Why did he say good luck with Sheriff in the free for all then? Got nothing to do with me!
  8. You what? Who on earth is John Schreck??
  9. Always restrictions and as we are all getting to know it is difficult to get big bets on, if they don’t like them! To be honest I haven’t been too bothered in the past couple of months or so. Wasnt investing for the money really, it was more of the challenge of “you know the odds , now beat them” aw, , that’s right that was superseded with “Are you in?” Only in If you are allowed In !! You do get sick of being treated like you are a criminal by trying to invest on racing!!!!
  10. You would be a major mug punter betting so early into markets. There obviously are punters that do offload but doubt there is any value around. The Jewels Odds are brought out too early and the AllStars horses are always too short to offload!
  11. More money down the drain if you bet early on the Fixed. Chicago Bull now Ultimate Machete! Why would you bother. Was Monbet in the mRket for the Dominion?
  12. Better to sit the cup out and just watch. Gambling is so overrated! Far better to invest!
  13. Lazarus will sure more winners here than in the U.S. I believe he will be sent back here in the next couple of years! Yeeeeeenaaaaaagooooooooobooooooy etc. Owners Rights to sell him but personally thought that they would’ve made far more by standing him at stud here!!!!!

    Shut Up Greg

Personally think Greg does a really good job on Trackside. We are very lucky in Canterbury with Mark McNamara and Greg O’Connor as well as Matt Cross. They leave the North Island equivalents for dead!
  15. Charlie Wood was certainly one of his best and a bit of an ironhorse. Beleive he started out as a pacer and then trotted for many races. Dougs horses always just seemed to want to run as fast as they could for as long as they could! Remember him out the cart in the preliminaries most of the time lol
  16. It is sad news. One thing Doug will be remembered for was his horse in the bog at Reefton or Westport that was out by 200 metres or so and got beaten!!! Was it something like Surprise Warrior???
  17. Yes horrible thing to happen to any horse! Also gotta feel for the punters who offloaded big time on the “Fixed Odds”
  18. Lazarus has not done enough over there, for American breeders to flock to him in big numbers. Lazarus has been an amazing horse, as good as anything I have seen. I still beleive that he will be returned to NZ for breeding purposes at some stage! If he doesn’t come back, then I am not on the money, but then who would bet against “The Brodster” being right?
  19. What would a good miler here go for the Trittons then?
  20. As you know I am a huge fan of mile race lol. Just read that Bridget Blue Chip Who was trained by Robbie Holmes has won at Menangle over the mile in 151.7 mile after sitting parked! Bridget was a reasonable race horse but pretty one paced I thought, she never set the world on fire racing in Canterbury. Now trained by the Tritton’s who as we know can fire them up! Who would’ve thought this mare could run that time after a hard run in the open? Mile Racing is an anomaly, and I am sure that there have been heaps of horses that have been retired in NZ when they could’ve been extremely quick performers over the mile in Menangle or the states!!!!!
  21. Flagship, are you serious? Everyone knows that there is something not quite right there! He always brings us up, so if anyone is jealous it is him! Goooooooooboooooooyyyyyy yeeehaaaaaahaaaaaaa oooooooooh Yeah etc!!!!!
  22. If he has been retired it is a bit weird. Has the trainer said he is GONE. This after the trainer said how well he was? Will be interesting to see if he is sent back here, because I can’t see too many Yanks breeding to him despite his amazing race record here!
  23. Yes certainly was very poor! Unless he starts winning them in a row, I can see him being exported back to NZ like I said several months ago! He is not going to be very commercial in the United States by the way he is going at the moment. There will be a reason for his poor performance hopefully?
  24. In a 9 horse field you don’t need to go to the fence.
  25. Newmarket, certainly not following it at all! Looked a certainty last night in a 9 horse field with a driver with any ability on it and was overs on the place! It was chucked in in that field and I was worried about McLellan but god he is not flash!!!!!!!
