  1. Bollocks, the whip wasn’t excessive at all, Whiteman
  2. Natalie Rasmussen is one of the worst offenders when it comes to overuse of the whip! Next time she should get a 6 month suspension for not seeing the error of her ways!
  3. I note that Murray Howard driving the horse he trains was yesterday hammered with a $500 fine! He was fine for using his whip outside the whip regulation rule which I note they have once again renamed the offence!!!! Murray drives very infrequently and was heavily fined $500 for driving his horse to win! Gow dare he want to win a race by driving his horse out? If you watch the replay of race 5 At Waikouaiti Club that raced at Oamaru, it does not appear to have been an overly aggressive whip action from Murray Howard but yes over the last 400metres would’ve been more than 10. However, Murray did not whip the horse continuously at all, there was a long pause halfway up,the straight and then again when he felt he had a chance to actually win! What the eff was he meant to do, just sit there without using the whip? Yes the normal anti whip conglomerate will come on and say that he broke the rule! The reality is that most know that the rule is blatantly stupid and needs to go!!! Murray Howard, a very infrequent Driver has had a major part of his weekly income taken off him by HRNZ for trying to win a race and where he was overly vigorous on his own horse!!!!! Ridiculous HRNZ, Change the rule as you know you stuffed up majorly when you rushed it through without a great lot of thought or support!!!

Not sure where you get that I am sitting on the fence? What I am saying ismthat by raising hourly rates it is just not the lowest paid that will get a pay rise. I wouldn’t like to be an employer of a small business that needs to employ staff as their wages bill is going to increase substantially. The reality is that many business owners actually make a lot less than their employees do! Why would you bother owning a business when you can earn more being an employee and not have the hassles? Now this so-called government want to take even more off the business by way of CGT!!!

Newmarket, understand that people do need to be able to afford to buy things if they are working. Problem is that by raising the lower hourly rate, becomes a problem when the people who are on more than the minimum also want a pay rise as they think they are worth more than the minimum ones. This in turn forces prices up and makes many business’s not profitable, therefore many will fold, therefore more unemployed!!! Yes Jacinda is young and smiles like a laughing hyena, but that only goes so far and things will change as to the governments popularity as nothing they have campaigned on happens!

Newmarket, they ran the country successfully and NZ was the envy of most countries in the world, then clowns voted this mish mash of nillers in thru MMP! They have done absolutely nothing to increase productivity except give money away for people to have more kids, even if they can not afford them.

Don’t believe that this government is ill prepared at all! They are just blatantly incompetent but it is not their fault, they just have not got any idea on how to run a successful business as none of them ever have! Yes they will self destruct and I donot beleive that there could be possibly be that many that will see her as a success by the end of the year! MMP system is a total croc when 3 loser parties can amalgamate to form a government.
  8. Great to see result, money not going the same way as normal, worth celebrating!

CGT will not be in! No way that they will get back into government if one is brought in on property, shares, KiwiSaver etc. Affects everyone who works and anyone with half a brain can work out that this socialist bunch are an absolute nightmare that has no idea of being able to run a country.
  10. We were told, that a punter had 8k on at $2.20! Seems like a lot to put on drawn the second row with MM on nowadays. Yes, poor drive, punter will be spewing as Wainui Creek was c,early the best horse Iin The race, MM should’ve moved at the 1200m and got into the race, as no show at Auckland sitting back.
  11. Not abuse Ranga, stating fact as usual! I asked if someone could provide the costing from service fee to the sales ring!!!!! You are just here to try and have Brodie on, which gets rather tedious so I made a suggestion!

Let’s stop people wanting to be on welfare and make it harder to live on it so they want to work. Many get more for doing nothing than what many get from working, which is blatantly wrong. We need to change this generational welfare BS now, but this lot in power will only make things worse! They have no idea on how to run anythinG Shane Jones giving out millions to business’s that Banks won’t lend to, so that is saying something! Unbeleivable bunch ofxxxxx.

Landlords pay tax on their rental income surplus just like any business. If they sell a property and makes money then they normally reinvest in another property. The fact this this loser government wants to hammer landlords in this country is going to come back to bite them. The coalition government has not got anyone with any business success whatsoever and it clearly shows. They are going to be booted out big time next election as they are totally incompetent. As for CGT it is a dead duck, just like their KiwiBuild!
  14. FFS Ranga, you are an absolute plonker of the highest degree! Go play on the road!!
  15. JJ you need to change your name, as you are not flash, quite the opposite! You are on this Premier site to cause trouble anyone can see that as well as Ranga! Brodie is on the money with his comments, to be fair NZSB and NZBS can be easily misread as I thought it was the sales firm putting their point of view across. Brads posting was extremely good and it would be great if we could have his, postings instead of yours!!!! If that is the best you can come up with JJ then you might as well crawl back under your rock on the Darkside!
  16. Breeders have to be an optimistic lot dont they? What I do know is that the standard of mares being accepted into the sales has improved greatly over the years, although it is not that hard to get black print nowadays with the speed horses are going! Plenty of races to win and 2.0 min mile rates are so easy to get! Government guaranteed term deposit? That sounds like like exciting investing, far better things to invest in Ranga!
  17. Great to have your reply Brad, appreciated! Look, I am rapt that you are now holding the sale and by your account and some vendors it was a success! I hope the sale goes from strength for your company and the owners and trainers of harness racing! If the vendors are happy then that is what matters, and hopefully the buyers get plenty of wins from their buys. I have no personal vendetta and financial interest in the sales, and I follow them with interest and have bought from the sales previously. What I do know that there are vendors that I know that have lost money On their yearlings and are considering breeding from their mares going forward. Is breeding horses a profitable exercise in most cases, no, or more people would be doing it! Keep up the good work!
  18. You can’t have Hunter, everything was selling for good prices???
  19. One for you Ranga, Dick Head!!!!
  20. If you are happy with the sales results then good on you! If it is not all about the money then keep onbreeding as we need breeders to keep the industry going! If you are more interested in investing that is guaranteed without any risk there are far better ways!,, Brodie, always on the money !,
  21. Of course the major ones were happy because they prob didn’t pay the full Service fees like the average breeder! Anyway no point debating with you!
  22. Look, as I say if everyone is happy about the sales that is great. Have spoken to a few people and who were there and yes there were some excellent results but also not so good. The fact is that 30k is Bettors Delight’s service fee at the moment and there will be many that sold yearlings this year that will be questioning the rationale of spending that money to be lucky to get that back! You need to look at the bottom line of is there any profit for the average breeder nowadays! I would say that with a median of $30k there would be next to nothing for the average breeder! You can say what you want about Brodie, but he does say it the way it is! No I don’t breed horses nowadays, not worth my while and that is why I have been financially successful because I know what is a great investment and what is not!! Breeding harness horses is not a profitable business for almost all Involved!
  23. JJ, it is great that you think the sale was successful for the breeders, which means that the buyers will not be as happy! Seem you are this expert about sales yearlings can you kindly itemise the costs from the service fee, grazing and feeding, preparation costs and sales costs for a Bettors Delight yearliNg for the sales!
  24. Nowornever, not a negative spin at all! If the vendors are happy with what they achieved then I am pleased for them! If the vendors are happy to take home their yearlings That didn’t meet Reserve then that is great to. Median at 30k not that flash I would have thought Seem Bettors Delight stands at 30k and he dominated the no.s. There were a lot of Bettors Delight’s that didn’t get the service fee so how that is successful I am unsure! Does anyone know what the cost would have been up to the time the yearling sells including sales costs? Anyway, it the vendors Bank are happy with the result, then that is what matters most isn’t it? Hopefully the Sales Series goes from strength to strength.
  25. Christchurch second day sale I haven’t looked at the average or median yet, but did watch some of the live broadcast on the Webb until it broke down and kept going back to the same lot that sold. Yes there were some quite big sales which were bought by the normal big players! Yes there were too many Bettors Delight in the sale, and yes I know he is what buyers tend to be looking for but does mean that vendors do need a lot of money to cover their costs including the 30k service fee. There seemed to be many Bettors Delight That did not achieve their service fee, so vendors would be disappointed. The vendors that got plenty of course will be happy. As I have said I want the Sales series to be a huge success, and some will say it was! Call me negative call me what you like, but overall I believe that there will be many breeders who will be seriously considering whether it is worth the expenses of breeding in the future! You can not just go on averages, you need to look at the median and compare that to what it costs to breed a yearling to the sales stage to see if there is any profit in it! There were also quite a few vendors who had horses passed in as well that obviously didn’t achieve the price that they needed for their yearling!
