  1. Would be 4550 if he was working at the AllStars stable
  2. Reality is that Michael House does not perform outstandingly in Canterbury. The main reason that Michael House performs so well at Palmy is that the standard of horse racing up there is less than average! Any reasonable trainer in Canterbury that sends up an average horse to race up there, would also do very well! Yes we know there a few ardent supporters of the AllStars stable and we have to admire his dedication to his craft, hard work, selecting horses at sales, pillaging the best horses in work from other trainers etc. The biggest fan of the AllStars stable on the Darkside does not contribute a brass razoo to harness racing as he doesn’t own or punt etc. Yes Harness Racing will be dominated each and every year by the Allstars stable in NZ while they have horses racing here. It is not that they win plenty of races at all, it is the fact that they plunder the stakes of all the big stakes races and leaves a pittance to the rest of the owners and trainers in NZ! Will owners continue to want to breed, buy at sales or buy existing horses, paying big money to have horses trained for them in the hope that they get one good enough to hopefully pay for itself? No they won’t and the industry is going to continue to suffer! The TAB are aware that harness is struggling and not profitable for them, that is why they are wanting Sports betting to be their priority as it is profit making for them!
  3. Guarantee there will be some big bets on the 2 horses coming out of the stable! How could anyone punt either of them on their last start runs? We all know why don’t we? Think both horses would be better placed racing in Oz!
  4. NZ Harness Racing is looking up! If true it has made my Sunday!
  5. The very few young trainers that are coming through are all doing a great job. They are clearly dedicated and keen to do well! We need a lot more to replace the oldies who don’t train forever. The young ones need support from owners to keep going and probably doing a good job due to their keenness. It must be hard for the oldies to get out of bed early 7 days a week in all weathers and do the same thing everyday for not a helluva lot to show for it! Dedication!!
  6. Certainly doesn’t need your Fish and Chips, Ranga!
  7. Ranga, don’t really believe that is how our legal system works in Nz!
  8. Driving tactics! Thats not race fixing!
  9. Mountain out of a molehill! Is discussing driving tactics, race fixing???? Costing the racing industry plenty, costing the tax payer plenty! Who is the winners out of this? Yep, lawyers.
  10. Nat?
  11. JJ aint that flash, going by the way he has started on BOAY!
  12. Less of the idiot and more of the other!
  13. Take your blinkers off, and look at what is happening! The stakes races are never full Fields nowadays and always dominated by the one stable. Most owners and trainers hate this domination by the one stable, and why wouldn’t they? Very hard for trainers to attract new owners which is going to affect the industry in the coming years as the oldies move on! It can not continue the way it is!
  14. Greg, No they don’t win all the BIG races! They would win the majority of them that they compete in!!!! Very rarely do their horses get beaten in the big races and mostly fill the first few placings! We realise that you are a total supporter and that is your perogative, and I won’t knock that! What anyone with a vested interest in the game outside of the stable realise that the domination is not good, whether you like it or not!!!!
  15. It is always good when the stake money is shared around different stables! Domination of anything is never great! Would be great if the bigger stakes races in NZ this year has winners coming out of many stables! Itmisnt going to happen, we all know that, and so the deterioration in harness racing will continue unfortunately! Sad, but very true, and becomes a yawn fest to most except the very few AllStar flag bearers!!,
  16. CP, wasn’t going to debate about it with you, as I know you will be pretty busy! I realise that the TAB bought into this new platform to try and increase turnover thru increased sporting betting! It has been brought in and obviously has got teething problems that we would expect there to be some. However, you would have thought that many of the complaints about the system would have been addressed prior to it being rolled out? Hopefully the TAB improves things and retains its existing client base as well as attracting new punters whether it be racing or sports bettors!!!
  17. Raphoe!
  18. Counter Punch, don’t agree it is user friendly, but then again I haven’t slent hours trying to work it out! Apart from the TAB giving sports punters far more options, what do you see as being a positive for harness racing punters???
  19. Barry, much appreciated!! You would wonder why they don’t advertise on Trackside how to,use the new system?
  20. Newmarket, it does affect me! Yes over the past few months I have been pretty quiet on the punting as I have said! Havent been sitting on my wallet at all recently and doing pretty well! Newmarket, you didn’t respond to my answer to your posting in regards to the response from SAFE? Egg still on your face!
  21. You are definitely on the money! I don’t come on here to have to prove anything in regards to punting, and those that know me, know that I don’t tell porkies!!
  22. Ask where the FIXED ODDS NO.s show? They don’t show, and the agency operators are even pissed off with the new system! You would think tha the brains trust at the TAB would be able to have sorted, COBBER!
  23. Hilarious Tonkatime! Of course it is a valid point, all of my points are always valid! You would have thought that with all of the time that the TAB had to launch this new betting platform, simple things would be easy to implement? As for affecting Brodie, of course it affects me and everyone else that wants to bet the day before a race meeting! The reality is as I say, the NZ TAB does not give a rats about racing in NZ now! Australian Gallops they love because it doesn’t cost them much and SPORTS betting is where it is at for them! They wouldn’t care if racing in NZ didn’t exist and it shows! The fact now that live sports betting is what you now get first clearly show this!!!!
  24. You would have thought that with $40m being spent on this new TAB site, it would have had very few teething problems? The reality is that the TAB doesn’t give a rats arse about racing In NZ, they just want to scoop as much as they can from Sports Betting so they can Pay themseves a huge salary!!! Where on earth do you find the FIXED ODDS OPTION No. for the harness racing races? If you want to have a wager on a harness race for the next day, there is no option no. showing so you can go to a TAB agency and have a go!!!! The agencies do not have the fields up on their boards for the next day and so you have to go and ask them what the FIXED ODDS OPTION. Is!!!!!!! They then come up with some random no. Not aligned to anything whereas previous there was a consistency with win and place but not now!!!!! Whoever the whizz kids who made the decision to bring this system in, should fall on their swords!!!!! Blatant ridiculousness'!!
  25. Of course they will be back. Normal transmission will resume as soon as Purdon is back in the country.
