  1. You are right Whiteman! Imagine if leading Canterbury trainers took horses up there as well there would be absolutely no stake money for the the CD horses.
  2. Enjoying the fab racing from Auckland tonight, and the massive win divvies! $1.60 $1.80 $1.60 $3.40 $1.30 and $1.70 Gooooo yeeeeee haaaaa Go the mighty blue and silver, you are really inspirational and making everyone joyous about punting. This continuation of pathetic divvies and short Fixed Odds is doing nothing to retain punters let alone get increased turnover. This continues and South Island owners of Horses won’t bother sending their horses to Auckland due to having to run for a minor placing at best! As for a spectacle then the racing is so BORING! We know the odd one will be enjoying it but then he doesn’t even punt!!!!!
  3. No doubt we will get Ydgren on TV with his condescending voice trying to explain to the uneducated why the horse wasn’t disqualified! The horse didn’t receive any advantage and Mr Herlihy took all efforts blah blah blah!!!! Mr Ydgren you effed up majorly and we know you will never apologise because the Stipes never do and yet they display no commonsense or fairness in many cases! I could name many cases where they have got things so wrong! Just as well they aren’t in our justice system or murderers would walk free!!!!
  4. I know I probably shouldn’t say it, but I think I have to!! I believe that several of the Stipes In NZ are ex horsemen who could not make a go of a career in training or driving! So because of that Harness NZ has given them positions as stipendiary stewards, and after decisions like this tonight, some have failed at this as well! Whoever was the Stipes at Auckland tonight and made the decision to not disqualify Mr Yips should hang their heads in shame. Dont want to hear that they only followed the rules, which is absolute BS! That horse gained a damned advantage and if they couldn’t see this they shouldn’t be in the job!! Even Mickey Guerin and Whale beleived it was a bit of a no brainer that it had to go out! Auckland Stipes you showed the no brainer tonight with your decision!
  5. The Racing Integrity Unit is a load of bollocks!! How on earth can you have any confidence that there is integrity with shite decisions coming from the top. Why don’t horses take a sjlrtcut across the middle of the track, you could say it wasn’t gaining an advantage. RIU your decision making is farcical too often for anyone to have confidence in you!
  6. Pathetic performance by Chief Stipe Nick Ydgren at Auckland tonight! Mr Yips retained his first placing after going inside the marker pegs for at least 3 marker pegs and took another horses position! Anyone that defends this decision from the Stipes in Auckland need counselling! No, didn’t back anything, but a vote of no confidence in Ydgren is a must after that decision!!!! Did the Stipes know people who backed the horse??
  7. To be fair Nowornever, I have been pretty quiet and easy on the Bookies over the past few months! I like to help the TAB increase their turnover, however they clearly are not listening! Their loss, not mine!
  8. What the heck is that meant to mean. By offering odds less than they should be is stifling turnover, which stifles profit!!
  9. Brando, I don’t invest on gallopers or dogs!
  10. No such thing as being”fair” when it comes to the way the Bookmakers operate in Australasia. The limits that restricted punters have been given Is downright pathetic! Over the past 6 months or so I haven’t been very active on the punt as there is no real challenge for me due to the low amount being able to be collected and also the way less than fair opening odds on harness racing! Yes the TAB isn’t paying out as much to winning punters but I can almost guarantee it is costing them profit! The poor odds that are being offered is not enticing for either winning or losing punters to offload and how the TAB expects to increase turnover by doing this is baffling! Used to love the challenge with the Fixed Odds but now I have a look and most of the time I can’t be bothered! I also believe that the tote divs most of the time must also have punters questioning why they bother betting with the tote! No wonder the TAB agencies are being closed down!!!!
  11. Happy Ye you are right about the pot holes in the asphalt. What is doing there, you would think that they would want the place presentable. Dunedins drinking water has always been crap as well and I believe many trainers take their own from ChCh rather than giving the horses Dunedin shite!
  12. Just looked and Ben Hope is flying! 50 drives this season for 13 wins, 2 seconds and a 3rd! Major improvement since last season and has obviously matured. UDr of .3000 and I would think that 13 wins in 50 drives would have to be some record for Juniors!
  13. Went to Forbury Thursday night meeting about a year ago. Was not really a highlight of my racing attendances on race courses. very few people apart from trainers and drivers. Food was crap. Think only 2 betting windows and operators were not on the young side and one didn’t even seem to know how to take Fixed odd bets that well! Went to Forbury reasonably often many years ago and enjoyed it, but you can see why not many now go! Unfortunately, it looks like Forbury could well be on oxygen!
  14. I agree that it is always great for the owners to get a win with any horse! Point was that with the amount of turnover thru the punting compared to the stake money being paid, where does the money come from to be able to carry on racing? I believe that Forbury is pretty stuffed as well, owing plenty to the Dunedin Council etc.
  15. Globe, can not see how they can possibly carry on the way things appear? They tend to race on a Tuesday afternoon and then Thursday night for the second day! There was bugger all in the pools today to support running a meeting at Palmy. We don’t get Fixed Odds betting figures from Bookies on any of the meetings so don’t know whether anyone is betting on fixed either. The way these meetings are currently going, Michael House could well win the premiership lol!
  16. Happy, I have got no idea how they possibly can survive. The meetings are normally not on very good days of the week and the turnover is never flash! They surely must be losing money and totally be relying on being subsidised by other parts of the industry? Stake money of 9k and turnover win and place on average around 12k so the percentage the TAB would pay the club would be minimal then there is all the operating costs! Does anyone know how the Manawatu Harness is able to survive?
  17. Just looked at the results for today’s Palmerston North Harness! Stake money pretty good all things considered at nearly 9k per race. Fields were all reasonably small so good chance of picking up stake money. The winners were all less than average horses and wouldn’t have a dogs show of competing in either Christchurch or Auckland competitively! Michael House is cleaning up with horses that I wouldn’t like to be paying the training bills for, but their Racing life is being extended by being able to get easy wins against very poor horses from the central North Island. If it wasn’t for the South Island Horses going north to race at Palmy then I would say that the harness track would be sold off for housing! Not too sure how this club could possibly be running at any sort of profit going by the poor quality of horse that is racing there and the small fields????
  18. Ben Hope has improved immensely in the past few weeks. When he first started realistically his driving wasn’t that flash but due to driving good horses, he has improved out of sight! Being a lightweight helps and yes he does seem to be doing his homework! Good to see as we need to retain as many young drivers and trainers in the industry as we can otherwise??????
  19. I note that the free for all at Addington on Friday night only has 5 nominations. 2 from the AllStars, 2 from Robert Dunn and 1 from Greg and Nina Hope. The stake is just under $15k over 1980m Would doubt that they will run the race unless there are more starters, which begs the question where are all the other horses? Yes Auckland is on but seriously there is a shortage of good class horses around throughout most of the year! The dominance of one stable in all the classic races is coming home to roost and won’t get any better will this continues to occur. Why would you bother shelling out big money at the yearling sales when you know that you are never going to win enough money to make it pay? Yes I realise some will come on and say that it is up to all the other trainers to up their game, but we all know that it is not going to make much difference.
  20. Westview, wouldn’t take any notice of this clown as he has come across from the Darkside, to spread shite! You are correct that he or she shouldn’t be allowed to write this on here!
  21. The Interdominions are nothing like they used to be, where there were many chances in each heat. Not overly exciting when the same horses keep on filling the top spots is it? As long as the AllStars don’t win, most enthusiasts will be happy except Gooooyeeeeeeehaaaaa ooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiyeeeeeeeeeaah baby!!!,,, Iraklis, Yeah I am not the full quid
  22. The TAB would want everyone to take it. Pointless Odds! Interdominion awaste of time for punting over there!
  23. They certainly are doing some sort of baiting over there I would say. It is the only thing that is keeping their site going!
  24. Newmarket, to be fair I don’t really tip on here????? What tips have I given that have missed? Yes, I am absolutely useless so please have a word to the Bookies for me, so,that my restrictions can be lifted!!!!! I haven’t been doing a lot of investing over the past few months as the investment returns have just not been there, and the challenge isn’t really there for me at the moment!
  25. I note that the few Tosser still left on the Darkside are still booking on! They are trying to put “The Brodster” down for questioning a horse starting in the last race at Addington last night! They think they are clever by saying what they want about Brodie! If that is the best that they have got, then they aren’t that flash. Very easy to go on about a punter that has more ability than all of them put together, when he hasn’t got the option to reply isn’t it? Brodie certainly must have got to them by being so successful on the punting, that they still remember him long after they BANNED him! Brodie will remain in the minds of all of those Tossers long after the Darkside forum site has been disestablished!!!!!
