No, it is because the RIU know that the Dunn’s were not involved in giving the horses Coca Cola or a coffee before racing!

Major Hippie was with the AllStars. There were several on that other site that kept saying that he was going to be a champ. I said that he wasn’t and now he is in a claimer. Goes a bit rough at times and if it was going any good you wouldn’t honk it would be in a Forbury claimer and cheap.

You aren’t allowed to win big amounts on harness racing!! You win you get stopped,

Billy Klondike at 10k? Trainer will be taking it home with her!

Not sure about the AllStars doing the dirty on Matt or Blair, but what Imdo know is that they are both very very good drivers. Matt Anderson is the best junior in the country undoubtedly, and think he might’ve won about 3 today, so that is a pretty return for the today. He is a likeable young man who seems to be putting in the effort, and is donating half his driving income to a Ronald McDonald House. Good marketing by him but obviously serious about making a good career out of harness racing. Good on him,

Dunn’s are innocent, as I have said all along! They are not as stupid to give their horses Caffeine when it is so easily to test for, unlike some other substances that can be masked! Dunn’s also don’t need to give illegal substances so their horses can win at Nelson. Caffeine would have bugger all improving properties for a racehorse, as I doubt humans would be drinking plenty of coffee or Coca Cola prior to a sporting event. The reason this case took too so long is that the RIU know that the Dunn’s themselves did not give the Caffeine and were set up. Newmarket, why did they plead guilty when they were innocent? Because although they didn’t administer Caffeine themselves they presented a horse to race with a banned substance, hence they had to plead guilty. The person that did give the horses the Caffeine should get a life ban as well as anyone else that was in on it!!!

Personally like the passing lane because it opens up the field in the straight. Remember as a kid watching horses locked up in the trail never getting a run at Addington and nearly going over the hub rail. What I also liked back then was the push out rule I think being at any stage rather than the 1000m as it is now. I understand why we have it the way it is now but used to be good watching the oldies like Maurice Holmes able to get off the fence whenever he liked. With the speeds nowadays it would be dangerous if it was anytime as the drivers wouldn’t be expecting it the same as they do now!

Alexandra Park Racing is definitely boring racing compared to Addington as well!

Portfolio, what was wrong with Trev’s drive tonight?
-
Didn’t actually have an investment Happy, haven’t for approx. 4 weeks. Cant be bothered the same anymore! TAB losing their punters but that is probably what they want!
-
Didn’t have a go today, and haven’t for about 4 weeks or so, but 2of those weeks I was in Oz. Lost a fair bit of interest in punting recently. Odds are mostly unders and when the TAB restrict you to pathetic amounts for this day and age I can’t be bothered. Queensland is no better for NZ harness. The TAB wonder why they aren’t increasing their turnover? They are turning punters off that is why!!

Feel The Money is a really good filly. Ran 3rd behind Elle Mac and Bettors Joy at Addington one night after making a run out wide and parked. She ran against the best fillies in the country her previous 2 starts and came the quickest last half in the oaks. If she had a good draw and a decent run she would not be embarrassed in any fillies group race. She won today and went the quickest time of the day and won very easy. This filly has a pretty bright future as she has got quick speed and tries! She is one of the 3 Westview 17 Syndicate Horses and the other 2 have won as well with Tuapeka Trick continually to improve and has more wins in him still. I believe that Westview has another syndicate that has shares available in 3 horses purchased at this years sales available, that looks like it could be worth getting into.

Does anyone know why most drivers at Alexandra Park when they are back in the field just sit there and wait until into the straight before getting serious? Yes I know you will be wide out on that home bend, but why don’t they move earlier. You clearly have next to no show if you are past midfield turning for home so just seems pretty futile even hitting them. Addington Racing leaves it for dead as a spectacle and betting medium!!!!

Never said it isn’t a good horse, but it ain’t a NZ Cup winner As for homework, I dont bother with open class racing I prefer the lower class, has been more money to be made.
-
Newmarket, you are just trying to be arrogant now. There are horses that are good over a sprint and not as good over middle distance and you know it,. Just looked at Betfair Oz and next race at Redcliffe. No place betting at all being accepted on the race, so harness in NZ going to,be a battle. Pathetic amounts being offered as well. Anyway great debating with you, but you stubborn and “Brodie”on the money again! State of Origin on soon, so signing off for the night!

Newmarket, where did I say anything about open class horses? Read exactly what I said. A open class type horse is a good horse obviously so it could win over 2300. However, as I said just because a horse can run a quick mile at Menangle doesn’t mean it will win over 2300m That fast mare that Teaz trained and sent over to Menangle that Tritton trained, probably didn’t win over 2300m because it was a short course horse! Are you saying she would win the NZ Cup because she could run quick quarters? She was a quicker horse than MFM!
-
It got run down in the slowest mile rate for the night over a mile and it is some NZ Cup winner?

Newmarket, I have debated this Betfair Thing Previously. Are you saying that if I wanted to put 2k for a place on a NZ harness horse in a rating 40or 50 race, then I could get it on, no problem? I watched the site months ago and the amount being put on for NZ harness minor races was pretty pitiful. I can’t be bothered sitting there getting small amounts accepted and some not, not worth the effort. What I Want is to be able to put what I want on for fair or good odds during the day at my leisure rather than waiting till 2 minutes before a race! I spoke at length to another restricted punter here who also had accounts closed in Oz and he stated that Betfair does not work for large punters investing on NZ harness lower class racing with Betfair, but then you obviously know differently!
-
All I know is that I have had several Ozzie Agencies stop me from betting on harness racing. I have tried at Agencies in Queensland and bets are restricted on NZ harness to small amounts to win fixed odds! How would Betfair be any damn different. It takes a bit sometimes to open an Ozzie betting account but stop it really quick without needing to give any reason. It is worldwide from what I have read. people that know me, will vouch that I don’t need to give B.S.

You what? What BS? Have a look at the form Newmarket, not that hard.
-
Yes it could be when compared to the 2700m middle distance as they can’t have 2000m races due to the track size

Jamie has sent most of his racehorses to Michael House who campaigned them at Manawatu. It is extremely hard for young trainers to make a living in harness training horses when they have next to no chance of picking up major stakes for the reasons that we all know. It is going to be the death nail for many in Canterbury, although some think this domination is good, it damn well isn’t. Trainers don’t express it publicly for obvious reasons but I can tell you that they aren’t happy. Gow can any you g trainer justify an owner buying a yearling for say 30k, spending another 15 to 20k per year training and winning 5 to 10k per year if they are lucky? Look at the size of the Auckland fields on Friday night when the stakes are 12k and 17k!
-
I would say a sprint distance probably ends at say 2000m anything more than that a middle distance. middle distance anything more than 2000 up to probably 2600 Anything more is a longer distance. Some horses just like sprints but can go further depending on the speed of the longer races. With the aid of videos it wasn’t hard to make good money on harness racing. However nowadays the TAB offer under value odds and limit punters from what they can invest, so has been made difficult to make serious money now. I haven’t bothered to have a investment for approx. 4 weeks but was in OZ for 2 of those weeks. Didnt bother over there either as you can get less on over there now because they supposedly scared of money laundering LOL. Reality is that the TAB is under serious pressure at the moment to make sufficient money from NZ racing so that is why they have bought into that expensive new betting platform. This enables NZ punters to bet on the weight of Jacinda Arderns baby or 2 flies racing up a wall at Beaudesert and it costs them nothing to do this. Betting other than racing is where the NZ TAB sees its future profit lines!

A “sprinter”:is not a horsethat is known for only being capable of running a quick quarter or half at all!!! A “sprinter” is a horse more known for running better at the shorter distances rather than middle or long distance races!!!!!
