  1. Well happy, my tips on the harness have been shite for a while, so betting with others money I took the soft option, and note Aussie gallops where form seems to hold up ...unlike nz gallops!!! Will try and do some harness bets on my next punters club turn, if you let me back into the trot site ?
  2. Cheers Robert, I will put up my world cup selections tonight!
  3. i agree with your points Robert, Its just my overall view that standards have gone for cup races now and open class racing in nz attract really low numbers and good but not great quality horses. Just sad we have got to that point, from an outside looking in perspective.
  4. Funny, just looked at shitcafe and I see normal service resumed, "the dice man" has been posing a few questions in the blood topic that mirrors this one, and because he is NOT a sheep a major arse licker, or a certified vegetable, good old Scooby has stepped in and more or less labeled him a trouble maker and shit stirrer.........its time for your medicine iraklis..open wide here comes the train.. choo choo
  5. Its sad but true happy...also the fact that billy badger is going for the cup is also a reflection of how poor our open class stock is in nz now (no disrespect to the horse)
  6. Thanks chief, seems as if it is used now as a preventative treatment on some animals...which as you say does bring up ethical issues...
  7. I'm sayin nothin!!
  8. I see the village idiot still hasn't got the G fixed on his keyboard......
  9. Good stuff happy
  10. Roki warrior in the cup And bird of Paradise in the last race ..the kind of weak field she likes. Good luck today happy
  11. R7 Dachy $4.5 is my lot tonight!
  12. Hunter i see you have your own headlines on R.C or as its called now the "Titanic" site! I think they miss us FTM is getting cramp in his hand from having to do all the posting in the harness section....
  13. Was it the Beatles that sang "money can't buy me love"
  14. Thanks blossom, just memories as a kid....(should have gone to spec savers!!)
  15. Tuckers rule (docs tuck) was a fav of mine used to have good duels as a two year old with slugger and paleface tryax when they raced a 1609m for 2yos at Alex pk....can't think of many docs tuck horses
  16. Shylock was a nice trotter
  17. Im not 100% sure, but were either Gavin Hampton or henry skinner big boned? I have some vague memory as a kid seeing them when they ventured north to Alex park early 80's, but could have been puffy silks back then!
  18. Oh no, that's sad, thanks hunter, I sort have have missed 20 years of racing in nz having moved to the UK in 1993 and only returning to nz 4years ago. So my memories of shit loads of trainers, plenty with good horses was vaporized on my return...all the big stables in the south the de'fillipis, smolenskies, Carmichael's, robert cameron had all but disappeared and one stable domination reigned supreme!!
  19. Sometime in the early 80s I remember as a 10-12yr old watching the racing on channel 1, I think it was either the railway or the Concord sprint and I remember a horse breaking down (for some reason "sparkling time" is stuck in my head) anyway this horse broke down and they put the curtains around it...however I remember my dad reading in the Sunday paper the next day that the trainer wasn't having anything of having the horse euthanized and put him on the float and took him home. Can anyone remember this or am I dreaming!
  20. Thanks hunter, what happened to him? A lot of his horses were free legged weren't they?
  21. Was Edward cowie from mid canty? He had good horses like best dream, frees best and Hondo's dream
  22. You must have breached the arsehole defence system on boay!!!
  23. I think Steven john won the Westport, reefton, greymouth $10,000 bonus for winning 3 races over the Xmas carnival
  24. Thanks Robert, he was a top horse
  25. He ended up racing in the north island and I always had a $1 place on him as a kid ...pretty sure he was sold to the u.s
