Very isolated downpours, we had flooding on our road in the morning and we are about 20km from the track, I thought that there was no chance of racing. I drove into Pukekohe later and it was fine.
If the first 3 horses or dogs were tested every race & every meeting every time, surely that would prevent drug use on the animals, despite the cost involved for the RIU, would it give the punting public some confidence (and the breeding industry) ? Test before paying out the stakes money ! The Purdon stable earnt $20 million in stakes money the past 5 years.
I'd like to see the 1st 3 past the post tested, every race , every meeting to keep it honest. While there would be a cost to those involved, it would stop a lot of skullduggery in the thoroughbred industry.
I agree Jess but I don't see why syndicators should benefit as they are not selecting horses with future breeding in mind, they are set up for racing, does that not fall outside the guidelines ?
Unfortunately, unlike this coalition government, it's no joke, but by cutting beef numbers by 30% we will be able to increase the productivity of the dairy industry !
Tui have a new billboard, "I find it easy to get my fillies into the NZB premier sale"
You can see why they buy the weanlings in NZ form the Aussie sires,
- No worries with exchange rate,
- No expensive airfreight,
- Less stress on the animal,
- No temperature adjustment,
- No time delay in getting them to the farm.
........ and probably less competition in the sales ring
