  1. Agree, next few weeks will be interesting. Owners wont want horses getting beaten, pressure will be on Hayden. I see a few good ones going to Aus soon, which is surprising. With the covid situation, they wont come back.
  2. Oh dear, Craig Grylls on fire today. Its a real kiss of death when the TAB pick the Hot Jock😆😆
  3. Was always going to be same colours. Then when the dust settles, Hayden gives reigns back to Mark & Nat, then we are back to where we once was.
  4. Forgot Cran is also a doctor.
  5. ????? He sees an opening? For a moment, thought you were serious.
  6. But he stepped back, then his Mrs was in partnership with nathan. Then he left, now cran back in charge??? WTF
  7. Was quite bizarre? Usually those in harness racing give their licences up when they are being charged for something? What has happened here?
  8. Just to add, Bonus Bets? Seems the TAB are still offering them, not as much as 6 months ago, but still offering. I know from my betting, sometimes they do get money from me with their double up bonus bets, or bonus back for 2nd, 3rd & 4th. But it is only a couple of races each day. Compare that to Sportsbet today, they offer bonus bets back on every race to run 2nd & 3rd, at the 3 main meetings? You know where my aussie money is going
  9. Never saw the ad on TV, or maybe i blanked it out. Can anyone post it please?
  10. Craig Grylls turn today for hot jocks. Just look at those fixed odds prices on his runners, what a disgrace. Well unders on all of his runners. How does the NZ Tab get away with it? Other operators give specials on horses, but never screw the punter like the nz tab do. Just makes me not want to bet today on principle.
  11. Yep, your right.
  12. Oppie Bosson hot jock today. Rode some favs, but gone like crap. Odds were terrible too
  13. I suppose it was their last nite, so they made the most of it. The funny race was Aladins , seems the All Star drivers were all a little confused early in race, forgetting who was supposed to win, so changing positions several times. Cup was what expected, they all wanted to be on the rails, so set up all of their runners. This will be the last time we see this, thankfully it will be more fair racing from now on. Yay, must make other owners & trainers smile
  14. Yes, Arna doing well, as are some other small trainers.
  15. $5500??? FFS, your joking arent you? By the time you pay costs, you are well into the red. Not knocking the guy, and yes, others have said, his owners are not paying for much of costs, but usually most trainers take horses with a chance to be competitive, but as you say, its more of a sleepover trip. Well done, happy new year
  16. If he is having a punt, hope he gives his nags a swerve
  17. Trent Yesburg for one, Regan Todd, plenty of them. I think your an older type person that never thinks outside the square. Try it sometime, look at other options, you might surprise yourself
  18. I think Chris Waller does a great job. As for the Purdons, I sit on the fence. I used to think more of the stable until the spinning stories came out, that got a cross mark for me. But yes, I think it is positive for NZ harness when the stable departs, I am sure some of the horses will go to other stables, so it will make NZ racing more even. Auckland have had 6 races already, All Stars yet to salute, even with red hot favs. Maybe this will be the norm?
  19. Just to add, Dean Taylor is another one struggling. Although, with a better drive, Baileys Diamond should have won down south. I know that some of his owners have purchased horses for good money to give them a better show of winning, but certainly the results are not coming. Great to have loyal clients, but their comes a time when maybe you should try one of the many up and coming trainers, just my view
  20. Well, Wonder what to expect tonight? Runner in first race went poorly, could hardly pace, finished last? I suppose they will win the major races with so many runners, so team driving will be to the fore. I have heard that a few owners may be looking for other trainers, which to me would be a good thing. Anyway, whatever you think of the stable, an era is about to come to an end.
  21. Fair enough if that is the case. Its an expensive trip gambling and boozing, without taking nags for a ride. I know the coast caters for lower class racing, but looking at the last weeks racing, it is getting worse. As for the Hopes, yes they had poor circuit. Lets hope Bens neck is ok, he is looking begind him more than in front😳
  22. This guy must be a great salesman, to tell his owners the nags they own will be competitve on the coast. They all went crap, against piss poor opoosition?? What was he thinking, I would be disgusted if i was one of his owners. Keep those battlers at manawatu!!
  23. Starkers at $8-50 a good bet in race 3, i think its that race. Had no luck recently, good draw will see him handy, will run on good. Teds Legacy $10 and Daggy Lamb $21, well worth a few bucks, in same race, but both worth betting on.
  24. Nice that the TAB is running these. But come on, the fixed odds on these runners are well unders, around 30% to 40% what they should be? Bittersweet.
