Hopefully, over time, we will see a longer range become available. Yes you are correct, should have double checked. Data on the old site went back to the early 200's, so hopefully they will transfer it over
Gospel of Judas
Slowly warming to the new TAB site, seems it is just slow way doing things. Also say the cost of 50 million, seems to be about 30 million too much. Wonder if issues continue they will explore damages or have provisions in there service contract.

Its $50 million too much. A workable tote betting site can be put up for $50K That would exclude say Sports Betting and only one of tote betting or fixed odds. Also as historical horse data available on other sites no need for duplication. Shopping around perhaps the $50K could be reduced as well. However conditional on the backend infrastructure.

My son in Perth did it for me, and I'm sure Harewood on this site may have managed to do it as well. It was to technical for me but it can be done. Be interesting to know as each time I try the system blocks the IP address. I can get to a lot of sites but not TAB. Something to do with legality of betting offshore from Australia. Thomass
Wow...what a thread.... ...and what a giant balls up this has been.... Sad old Thaddeus Taylor praising John Boy as if he's the new messiah...as if he'd written the New Testament ...wtf...protecting his job perhaps? Earily then told Thad is was a 'dog' on the radio...to which Thad nearly choked on his wheeties... " oh well...we're open to constructive criticism though Pete" Holy f in underpants... Something new...so much slower Incredible

I just use an address from outside of NZ, currently using Germany and I can access the NZ TAB. Only use it for checking results/times etc. Works a treat.
The Centaur
I see there are OPEN SOURCE sportsbook websites available from $1000 which must mean fatcat outfits like Tabcorp, NZTAB, BetEasy, Paddy Power etc will be too top heavy to ward off lightweight startups. Punters themselves may endup owning the websites regardless of regulation.

Yeah I read that at the time and though it summed up how clueless a lot of their people are. 1

Hardly worth the NZ TAB applying for a license - "800 accounts generating $1 million in turnover." Says a lot about competitiveness.

I'd imagine there is more than that over here - the address on my account is still my NZ one so I never received any notification of the change as a result of that....own fault there. Anyone on holiday wouldn't change address either so in my opinion it is not an accurate statement they made. I move home at end of June so issue will go away. Tonkatime!
There is also a number of sports betting options available on the website that are not available on the self service machines which seems a bit silly to me. Also on the site there are no option numbers so you can’t manually fill out a form while getting the option numbers off your phone.
The Centaur
Something that hasn't been noted because back in November we did not know what systen NZTAB was going to hit us with. The OpenBet system with at least three bookmakers including Ladbrokes and Sportsbet crashed heavily in Australia before the Melbourne cup for about 1/2 hour causing chaos. The opposing bookmakers had a windfall signing up new customers at a frantic rate in that space of time. I have a theory that OpenBet were developing a new system for New Zealand but because of problems and delays have reverted to their old system hence the lack of NZ customization. Hedley
Another thing wrong with the new site is the lack of a Damsire notification as well as a lack of Lefthanded or Righthanded track stats info too. Tonkatime!
I did an account withdrawal direct to my bank account. Initially yesterday it wouldn’t work however today it did and the money was in my account within an hour or two.

Yes, i will say the withdraw system is working well, in fact, i probably will never have to walk into tab outlet again! I suppose that is what they want, get rid of more staff

Do they still charge to deposit?
