Did anyone have any issues making credit card deposits into their TAB a/c today?

I went to use the same credit card I always use and it wouldn't accept my deposit. I tried several times and then flagged it away.

Gee, your keen Joe. Most are still getting logged on!

I think it would be better if you could click on results and see the last 10 results as well as being able to select a meeting.

Agreed. Not having the latest results down the bottom of the page is an extra two clicks I now have to make. A good website is all about limiting clicks.

What do people think of the new website that appears when you go online to have a bet.   Personally im not impressed and actually find if rather annoying that they have complicated what used to be an easy enough process of putting a bet on and gathering information.. The colour is also off putting.  The emphasis on displaying sports betting is not good for me either as I have never had a sports bet, never will.

Every now and again I may spend a few dollars on the aussie dogs, I have a bet on the lower grade meetings at certain tracks if there is nothing on tv. Well while I was successful in my first 3  bets,i just found the website so off putting with its colour and the steps needed to get to certain information I just gave up .  To me it just makes the betting process a bit more tedious and complicated.

Transferred from other thread.

I find the blue on blue text hard to read, yet the white on blue stands out nicely, were they trying to make it difficult for the eyesight impaired among us ?

Really? didn't even know it existed.

The only thing I can see thats annoying is no scr or track info in the one spot, but hey I can live with it, its NOT earth shattering & the bonus of having quality online video in full screen far out weighs minor little issues for me.

Finally they have a decent platform that is similar to competitors.

You can't tell me you never noticed the latest results down the bottom?

I agree with the live stream, much better quality and it loads instantly.

My problem is that the TAB barely kept their budget site in order so how are they going to deal with the more complex issues this site will generate? People are already having problems placing bets, logging in, depositing etc etc. These should have been ironed out well in advance.

The release of Neds.com.au was a complete shambles, mostly because they did it at the busiest time of the year, but they responded by giving out free bets. This launch wasn't nearly as bad, but if they want to be on par with the offshore bookmakers, they better start offering a sign-up bonus of at least $100.

Another gripe of the TAB is that they won't become gambling affiliates. Many TAB workers didn't even know what a gambling affiliate was, which was shocking. Allowing websites to promote the TAB for a percentage of their customers deposits is the reason why offshore bookmakers are making a killing and the TAB.... well.... are not.

I would love nothing more than to advertise the TAB on my sites and keep the product locally, but that simply won't happen with the lack of brain power in charge.

Nope never noticed it & I cannot think why I would want too or need too, sounds like its the perfect thing for click and gamble people whom are desperate to know the result so they can continue gambling because there account is low on funds.

Great you are happy with one thing.

Most of the issues are self-created from what I have read.  Although you would have expected more beforehand videos of how to do so & so etc.

Are you farking for real quoting Neds?, the biggest farking joke of a bookie outside of Ladbrokes, I had 1 boost bet winner with Neds and they cut me to mid tote odds before I had even $4000 in my account.

Agreed, monopoly thinking from them.

I didn't really say anything too positive about Neds. They are rubbish, but they did "attempt" to make it up to their new customers.

I guess every bookmaker has their faults, it's just a pity the TAB are 10 years behind the competition - and I think for years they thought they had no competition because of their monopoly, but punters are smarter than that.

6.00pm Sunday night the TAB closes to relaunch their new 50+million dollar platform for NZ ONLY punters.

When will John Allen come out and tell us the true cost to date and what the on going yearly cost will be.

If you have got use to easy betting FF numbers that flow from race to race get ready for a disaster.

Life is going to get hard if you enjoy multi's at the same meeting

As John Allen has put the future of the TAB  into this will he resign if it fails

Are you serious about the cost of this new platform  Time? Could this be another Rort but on a greater scale like the launching a few years back of that Poker or Joker format that cost several millions to launch and it never reached base one. Is it Possible someone here has their retirement taken care of?

What’s so hard about putting multis on at the same meeting? If you bet online you don’t need option numbers, and if you bet in retail they are on the form guides.

Quite true, but i still think they missed a great chance by not having ew, win or place bets, fixed or tote, used in any combination.

Anyway, after a good nite sleep, i am now watching the cricket and darts on tv, so i have had another look at tab site.

If your a racing fan, apart from better viewing  of live racing, not a lot has changed. I have for the first time, set up bank account for withdrawels, it was easy to do, will see when i am lucky to withdraw! So that is a plus.

Also, they must have tweeked app, because now i can access pdf form on app. Sites are still bloody slow, but maybe that might improve in future.

I have noticed a few more sports options, both the cricket and darts this morning, tab had roughly same amount of options as beteasy had, so that is an improvement. Will be interesting to see feedback on cash out option, if option is not suspended too often like in the past, i think some punters would like this option.

Overall use of app is ok, just takes a bit of time getting used to. Still no game breaker, but i would have to say it was better than previous app.

I see somebody has posted that the new platform is for nz users only, is that just for fixed odds? Surely overseas punters will also be able to punt?

Never ceases to amaze me. Something that would have taken half a dozen clicks originally now takes twice as long.  I get this with set ups on gas equipment while commissioning. Every new and smart appliance has the need for some older customers to sit a degree in programming. Bullshit.

What happened the the Kiss formula.

I frankly think it will suit this generation of punting techs who grew up with it , but my generation may struggle and opt out, thereby restricting themselves to a trip to  a TAB counter somewhere.

Interesting comments so far.

G the same generation you suggest are struggling with this thought the same about changing from Cash to Eftpos, TVNZ to Sky, Manuals to Automatics, Wringers to Autos, Boil in the Jug to Cappucino, VCR to DVD, Film to Digital & so on.

Pretty sure age is no barrier or excuse, perseverance & time will see everyone an expert.

Everytime I buy some knew technology I get it home and then the swearing starts, "farking piece of shit, nowhere near as good as the old one" frustation for a week and then its a dream. We are all the same with change.

Fair call Barry. I have friends and family who are, should we say , scared of technology, and some who have embraced it. One gets left behind if not keeping up with it, but I do think we are being swamped by technological advances and to the detriment in some circumstances of society in general, with societal problems we have never had to deal with before.

Any way back to the Tab .

New technology it may be but is it a game changer?  Will it increase revenue and reduce costs?  I think not.

But from what I've seen this "new technology" has carried over many of the constraints from the previous system.

Thankfully Melbourne Cup day is wee way off.
