Newmarket
Amazing that they called off Addington tonight because of fog? Remember the old days, Reon calling a race from the mobile arm? Didnt seem too bad, getting soft i reckon.

globederby12
If you care to read the Stipes report, it states they consulted with senior drivers and management and they were all unanimous in their decision not to carry on. Call it soft or whatever.
Rusty
They wanted to consult with the owners and the bloody punters! Get out there and get on with it. 2

Happy Sunrise
You lot, apart from Globe, are hard to please. No wonder they called it off as there is more chance of race fixing in the fog...team driving....blood spinning.... more than 10 strikes of the whip.... a few quick party pills....and that is just in the back straight... ? 1

Brodie
The fog conditions last night were nowhere near as bad as other times when they have raced! Nowadays there is too much of this health and safety BS! Was there any real chance of anyone getting hurt had they continued to race? There was always a chance, but then again there is a chance when there is full daylight. I would say it is far more dangerous for the drivers, training horses on their own tracks with a bit of moisture on the track!!!

Or in real thick fog. Stopping and swopping drivers in carts.
Mardy
Hopefully the fog isn't as bad overnight as my girl In The Shadows will be trying take 2 too fly down to Christchurch in the early hours tomorrow. But at the moment by all reports she's still at home and pretty chilled out.

Those fog conditions are causing some angst among the Australian reps stuck in Auckland. Not ideal.

You would be tempted to go forward early with that draw if she has the speed , and not be left with an impossible job .Hope she goes well Mardy, its always a buzz at the Jewels. Thats what Im hoping they do with Wee Man Trouble in ours, and we get a drag into it early. We groaned after the draws came out, but after watching WMT winning easily at Rangiora it gives us some hope as he showed considerable speed. Its going to be the charge of the light brigade at the beginning Im guessing, so we are looking for some luck. We certainly have the horse to do it, so if he pulls it off we will be tearing down the rafters. Jewels Day, yah cant beat it. Eh Brodie.
Mardy
Yea she can get off the gate not too bad,she might even be able to beat her stablemate out.Wouldn't surprise me if she even led early then possibly handed up too something, guess that will be dictated by how she gets out of the gate and then what the Wizard decides to do.Indy and her stablemate Baquero both arrived this morning...and we running around a paddock in Leeston this arvo.Hopefully George can do it for ya Rees, yes if they go crazy up front he'd be the one that i'd want to be on to bury them late.
