He has shown no remorse, he maintains his innocence. I am surprised that you find doping a horse worse than a male attacking a woman kicking her in the head and attempting to strangle her but that's just my contrary opinion. Working is fine. Under NZHC rules, Anderson is unable to work in any trotting stable for two years due to his offending. All Anderson had to do was behave for two years and he could have resumed his harness career. That is unlikely now.

Thought the same, I know which one I think is worse

does 7 years disqualification seem about right ?

The woman basher got off lightly in the courts, in my humble opinion, but seven years disqualification from harness racing probably about right. You never know harness racing may not be around in seven years time?

Why? is it the stake money that hasn't gone up as Brodie worked out, so costs too high for participants?

or too many horsepeople leaving the game? or no betting as people get disgruntled with TAB, fixed races or both?

seems good crowds at all those weekend day meetings. they thought harness might collapse early 80's when LOTTO started up, and then we lost all the 'Old Ladies' to the Pokies with their pension money, $'s never to go on a horse again. (only Melbourne Cup Day here lol..........)

can they get Pokies on the racecourses? lol... entertainment for all !!!!! (would be 7 years at least since I last played a pokie , but if you go to RSL and footy clubs still a lot of folk spending their dollars in them) chance of the 'quick' win , whereas horses, are just TOO SLOW for most lol.......   Like to lose their money quicker !!!lol

I think for animal welfare reasons. Rodeos have had there day because of animal cruelty concerns. Greyhounds are being targeted now and calls for dog racing to be banned are growing. When it is, horse racing will be the next target.

NSW the greys were gunna be banned  2016 (ethical reasons) ,but got reinstated after 3 months out, by the State government as public outcry from the thousands employed in the industry was too great. Far Out-weighed the activists arguement of cruelty.

124 recommendations from an inquiry were recommended (to clean up the industry) of which 122 were implemented , and now they are thriving and they run a Million dollar race each year now !!! amazing turn-around.

Hoping NZ can get that NSW model of recommendation and prosper too. fingers crossed.

Don't cross your fingers too tightly. Your fingertips need blood circulation too.

The boards & management of GRNZ and the RIU do not have the skill set, ambition or the balls to take on cleaning up the Greyhound industry.

Both GRNZ & the RIU are riddled with conflicts of interest & favoritisms.

That's the reason integrity rule #1 has always seems to have been "It's not what has been done, it's who's done it".

Why else would we hear week after week on Peter Earley's on Trackside radio interview with Mr. Godber "We have to wait for the SPCA investigation to be completed prior to filing charges with JCA" over the alleged live baiting at the Cole kennels?

The SPCA investigation is long over and their evidence had been passed on to the RIU. Where's the charges the RIU was "ready to move on" now? If GRNZ or the RIU even remotely thought it wasn't live baiting, why was Brendon warned off during a portion of SPCA investigation?

Australia does not have a caring, kind government like NZ where well-being is paramount. The media here also endorse the government's every move with criticism absent. The government can do whatever she likes as she has majority support from the team of five million. Let's be kind to greyhounds!

In NZ there seems to be a large distance between the slogans and actual delivery.

Typical socialist Government spend, create more debt and deliver worse outcomes.

Which shows how gullible the majority of the population is.  Slogans are generally lies e.g. I'm not part of the "Team of 5 Million".  Slogans don't deliver outcomes as is clearly evident with this Government.

I see they are now trying to find a slogan to put some lipstick on the public sector wage freeze!  If they are concerned about public sector wage costs why are they rapidly employing more and more people?!  6,000 people are employed at MPI and MBIE at an average of $120k salary - what productive value do they return?

I think you have to acknowledge that many supported Labour because they were tired of National having no social conscience , prioritising money over the environment and sucking up to china, amongst other things.

But i just change channels whenever i have to listen to the media focus on calling everything by its maori name. Some of these government department names are just ridiculous. Its like they want to fix something thats not broken. But thats where the worlds headed and the youth of today is being indoctrinated with this thinking. And all these sports seem to follow suit.So it won't get any better.

Stick to form analysis Galah instead of political commentary.

You forget that National actual won the most votes in the election before last and it was only dear old Winnie that handed the coffers to Labour for 30 pieces of silver.

The second term was won on Covid.  Nothing else.

Think my dad had a picture of Mr 'Noodlum" on the wall growing up in NZ. A grand National leader.

The prime minister even used to go to the trots !!!  maybe Jacinda could have a 'night-out' at Alexandra Part too. and give the game a kindness boost. !!

Obviously the way the labour/nz first government had handled covid was the major part. But National was a weak opposition and had 3 different leaders leading into the election.

I have always been a winston fan myself. I've always thought  his values and take on things reflected the way i think nz should be run,and he had a couple of very capable mp's with him. Just a shame he lost his way with some of his comments in the run up to the last election. He was never into the political correctness that we have in todays society.

Basil would even be better than what we have as Prime Minister at the moment.

None of the current lot have any business acumen at all and yet they are making these absolutely stupid decisions!

They are gone next time even with Collins as National leader

JAKH, to be fair they have made me plenty over the past few years!

However, it would pale into insignificance to the amount that the country is haemorrhaging with them making ludicrous decisions!

The Commies want to reduce the socalled inequality of its followers by reducing the income of many of the workers and increase the money paid out by the taxpayers to those that do not produce anything!

Brilliant strategy and people are finally realising that “The Brodster” was on the money as always!
