  1. To be honest, I haven't a clue whether the person inside the bull ring is Sam or not. I wouldn't know Sam by his appearance if I had passed him on the street. When I inquired with a couple of people after the images became available, I was told in no mixed words by both that it was Sam. That said, whoever the three are in the images need to face the music and go before the justice system. Beyond what I see as animal cruelty, the damage it has done & continues to do too the code makes it more unrepairable every day it's avoided.

    Cawbourne Krusty

Maybe young Mr. Roberts was just unlucky, after a post of mine from a couple of weeks ago was read by the royalty of the capped crusaders & a light bulb went of in their head... <oh yeah... I remember that Foxton Fixing thing now and since someone else spotted it happening again, I'd better take it seriously this time & actually do a little something about it> I strongly suggest that if I hadn't made the post about it two weeks ago, the result which did happen last night wouldn't have happened & it would have simply been swept under the carpet once again.
  3. I agree 100% & hope other members will respect this request. Max has no part to play whatsoever in this saga.
  4. #1 - Who's this? #2 - Who's this & this? #3 - Where's the bichon frieze today? #4 - Cancel question #3, I have the answer. It seems to have met a bit of grief & became mangled.

  6. He also hasn't had an investigation dropped by the SPCA, the RIU & GA either. He'll be charged & have the chance to defend those charges when the time comes. With that said, the pictures do not lie & were taken at an identifiable time period (prior to being handed in to authorities & during the time Sam was a staff member).
  7. Well done Mike. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/13436/stewards-report.aspx
  8. It's been a disgusting couple of years now. Here's the links to TV3's take on the subject. https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2017/12/spca-appeal-for-public-help-in-alleged-live-baiting-case.html https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2017/12/man-accused-of-live-baiting-greyhounds-had-been-investigated-before.html https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2017/12/top-greyhound-trainer-being-investigated-over-live-baiting-allegations.html https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2017/12/several-former-employees-accuse-brendan-cole-of-live-baiting.html

    Dog Caller?

Clearly Brian had bigger plans for himself, a front row seat in the Addington calling tower, well away from the crooked officials in CD. http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/8086244/Impaired-greyhounds-caller-gets-collared "Neal said the Racing Integrity Unit had the power to replace any official if they were impaired, as Martin clearly was. Video replays confirm Martin's speech was slurred and he took so long to go through one field, the winner had crossed the line before he called it."
  10. He hasn't been charged, yet. He will be, along with Lisa as the registered trainer, Sam for his part in it & the other individual if he is an LP (for RIU concerns if the SPCA somehow drops their investigation). I haven't worked out why the black & white dog looks like it's being hung by its collar in the second image, but since what ever is holding it up is on the outside of the fence, its look very suspect as well. <enter the supporters to tell me it's a plush greyhound toy being delivered by Santa Claus.>
  11. I can't speak for others but I can speak for myself. I haven't had a go at Janine. I have nothing but respect for her & have heard from very reliable sources that she is a wonderful woman. It very well may have been a freak accident, they happen. My concern is in the way the JCA decided the case & handed down it's verdict. Fact - Trailer wasn't warranted Fact - The need for a rego & WOF are clear within the welfare code. Fact (so we're told) - Welfare is paramount. Fact - JCA admitted this was at the high-end of the breach. Fact - The JCA handed down a wet bus ticket as a penalty. Hopefully the JCA will be hearing another welfare case revolving around the Coles soon. From what I have heard, in that case no Greyhounds were injured or killed. It appears that a Bison Frieze & a rabbit were likely killed. Since no greyhounds were injured/killed, no crown laws (other than the welfare side of things) were breached, can we expect that the Coles case penalty, if found guilty, will ultimately end with a less than $1K fine? Welfare is paramount, unless it doesn't fit conveniently into the case before us. Really?
  12. Now I can see why you don't put your name on your posts. Is the RIU aware you've used this unwarranted trailer? Are the police aware? Maybe you should turn yourself in & accept your very own wet bus ticket.
  13. Ironic, I've noticed that "Goldstar" doesn't put his or her name on their posts. Charles would like to know how the re-training of Goldstar Hudson is coming along.
  14. At the end of the day, the accident could have happened if the trailer was warranted or not. That said... $50(ish) for a trailer WOF? $1000 fine.... I think the JCA is missing a zero (typo?) Injuries to 5 greyhounds... $? Death of one greyhound (after extensive treatment) … $? More un-needed negative spotlight on the code ….$? A BOAY member swore at some race day officials.... loss of licence & can't seem to get it back.... Another BOAY (I presume) sent a couple of "vocal" emails to RIU & GRNZ... loss of licence & can't seem to get it back.... What the hell is WRONG with this picture?
  15. Another wet bus ticket handed down. http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/non-raceday-inquiry-riu-v-j-mccook-penalty-decision-dated-27-february-2019-chair-mr-r-mckenzie [24] Weighing up all relevant factors, including the high-end consequences of the breach and, against that, the mitigating factors referred to in paragraph [21] above, the Committee has determined that an appropriate penalty is a fine of $1,000. Huh? High end? The JCA must be severely underpaid & living in poverty, if they believe $1K is a "high-end" fine under the welfare code....

    Idol Tom

I understand your sentiment, but because a dog performed well on the track, that doesn't give them any more entitlement to special treatment after injury/retirement than any other dog, in my opinion. Also, I haven't looked the dog up as to who the current owner is, but isn't the ultimate call of a dogs outcome up to that person/persons? I do know that a lot of dogs are still fully "owned" by the original person, with only the trainers name added to get around the public/private trainers license issues. I'm not here defending this trainer in any way, but I am pointing out that the ridicule a trainer can get sometimes isn't always the best place to target the energy. Sometimes they are simply innocent bystanders.
  17. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/13423/stewards-report.aspx Top dogs preferred team was back in action on Friday night... Top dog allowed another 5 dog distance race to be run, unquestioned.... Did top dog even bother to look at Krusty's race record? Seems Krusty hadn't had a run for nearly 3 months prior to last night, yet was scratched after she was used to make up the numbers for the event. But what about Gray Bale? Well surprise surprise, in what was a 7 dog field at the draw had magically become a 5 dog field, after two dogs from the same kennel had been scratched. No questions asked, no accountability, no nothing... Just another $4K in stakes funnelled in to the same family responsible for the two dodgy scratchings from the same family. I used to call this sort of thing the Foxton fixing.... But now it seems to have spread well outside of Foxton, under the same watchful eyes of the same group of people (officials). I do remember that Mr. Austin did try to sort out Foxton fixing once, but he filed the charge under the wrong rules so Foxton fixing is still flourishing, now having spread to both islands. http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/non-raceday-inquiry-riu-v-a-turnwald-decision-dated-21-december-2017-chair-mr-p-williams/?searchterm=turnwald*
  18. Sorry Aquaman... I didn't post the picture, I had only commented on it after some else had posted it...
  19. Looks to be a school age kid... Interesting classroom.
  20. Interesting read... http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/non-raceday-inquiry-riu-v-g-bate-decision-dated-20-february-2019-chair-mr-p-Williams Aussie examples - max fines & stiff sentences NZ example - wet bus ticket, even though a future board member, at the time of export, played a supporting role... That's justice in typical kiwi fashion!
  21. Not much more I can add... Corruption & collusions at their finest...
  22. Well done Top Dog... you got the ruling right this time. However, I fully believe if Buddy was in kennelled PN as opposed to Wanganui, the kennel cough wouldn't have been apparent on the re-check & it would have gone on to run a personal best time in its next start & gain entry into the PN version of the not so amazing chase. I wonder why even thought the dog still had signs of the ailment, top dog didn't clear it to run anyway under the injury provisions like the last time a similar scenario presented itself. BUDDY LOADED which was a late scratching at the Palmerston North meeting on Monday 18.02.19 with kennel cough was represented to the Vet on Tuesday 19.02.19 but was still showing definite signs of the ailment. BUDDY LOADED was not cleared and is required to sit out the 21 days stand down imposed the previous day. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/13419/stewards-report.aspx

    Not a Good Look.

It's been move to the Vent board & locked.... Thomass got his digs in & now other members are not being allowed to give it back to him... Maybe a bit of reverse discrimination there Chief?

    Not a Good Look.

This would be a great look, if the security guard was actually a police detective & the 3 handlers were the three people in the alleged live baiting image.
  25. In my view it is a HUGE problem. It is the RIU's responsibility to enforce GRNZ rules as they are written. The RIU doesn't get to choose which rules they enforce & which ones they simply ignore, do they? The problem for me isn't whether any dog is wearing muzzles or not. My problem is that the RIU isn't doing what they are tasked with doing.
