Hmmm, The RIU have already proven they are well skilled at being derelict in their duty. 11/12/17 is still hanging over the Greyhound code while the RIU's head is buried in the sand.... https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2017/12/top-greyhound-trainer-being-investigated-over-live-baiting-allegations.html

Everyone has their own morals & standards about what should be the life of a racing (or would be racing) greyhound after it is done on the track. That doesn't make my beliefs or anyone else's belief right. What is happening with the farmers is simply wrong by my morals, but with that said, it's still legal within the rules. What needs to happen is pressure being applied to GRNZ to get the rules right, for the future of the sport. Obviously pressure on the farmers doesn't work. Winning $1M + a year allows them to fund a Vet that will do what they say & not what's best for the greyhound or the sport as a whole. Public opinion is strongly in favour of a long & happy life after racing for a greyhound. Without that, we all know where things will end up. If the farmers can't heed the warning & look outside of the box of which they call their business & change they way they do things, it will play the leading role in the end of the sport. The only other way to stop them is a rule against their practice. The choice of the continuation of the sport comes down to the farmers and/or GRNZ. Either the farmers changes their way on their own, or GRNZ forces them too. If one of the two doesn't happen, lights out.

I haven't formed an opinion whether GRNZ rule 47.10 is right or not, but it is another that seems to be continually ignored by the RIU... 47.10 A Greyhound must at all times whilst on the Racecourse wear a Muzzle acceptable to the Stewards. Simply have a look at any of Peter Fenemor's articles on the GRNZ website & spot the non-compliance... https://www.grnz.co.nz/News.aspx?NewsID=3038 https://www.grnz.co.nz/News.aspx?NewsID=3036 In todays day & age and after the recent Wanganui saga, what does anyone think will happen the day some kid walks past the podium at Manukau, Cambridge (or the like) wearing those sneakers with squeakers in them & a dog has a go at the moving white thing that the noise is coming from. How hard would it be to a member of the public to open up a huge lawsuit against a club or GRNZ because a place winner in a race had a chomp on a kids ankle? A Greyhound at a racecourse not wearing a muzzle is against the rules, it's not enforced by the RIU and to boot, GRNZ provide all the evidence needed to prove that it hasn't been enforced for many, many years.

I feel your pain Brodie... Why not opt for the greyhounds instead? The Stewards are just a crooked but at least the starts are much more predictable....

There are a few things I've seen that she has done. https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Downloads/Rules and Documents/Use of Alternative or Complementary Medicines Policy (1).pdf https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Downloads/Rules and Documents/GRNZ Late Litter Registration Policy (1).pdf https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Downloads/Rules and Documents/Breeding Female Policy.pdf https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Downloads/Rules and Documents/GRNZ Vaccination Policy 2018.pdf https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Documents/Ear branding Update.pdf https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Documents/GRNZ Welfare Standards 1 August 2018 FINAL.pdf So in 2+ years since coming to GRNZ, she has written about 20 pages of policy. That's quite a workload, so it's easy to see why she wouldn't have the time to deal with live baiting or reprimanding Top Dog because he rescinded an illness stand-down using an injury clause.

Yes, it is a big deal. What is a big deal about it is that the same Steward, who is supposed to be the best the RIU has to offer the code, is either severely inept or corrupt IMO. What would happen to a checkout clerk in a store, if at the end of every day, the till was short of cash? The CCTV security footage clearly showed that about half the time that the person gave change to a customer, the clerk obviously returned to much change. After a bit more analysis of the footage, it showed a clear tendency that the clerk almost always gave to much change to women with brown hair, yet every time he gave change to grey haired men he was spot on.

Couldn't be much more... FPT... For the sight challenged like Top Dog seems to be.... #1 - 100% guilty, but wasn't charged by the top man at the "Rules Inconvenience Us". He also would have had access to the head on footage which would show the head turn even clearer... #7 running true with ears orientated north & south.

Sorry Paul, I've only got the one user account, so calling me rude names because of what someone else might have said is simply childish. I gave up calling other people names sometime around second or third grade.

Typical Friday night. I think it might be time for someone to go back to looking at the keyboard when they type. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/13414/result-detail.aspx

56.4 Subject to Rule 56.5, an Owner or Trainer shall not permit the Greyhound named in a Certificate of Incapacitation under this Rule to compete in any Race or Satisfactory Trial during the period of incapacitation. 56.5 Where a Greyhound is prohibited pursuant to Rules 40.10, 44.19, 44.20 and 56.1 from competing in any Race, the Trainer may: (a) subsequent to the day that a Certificate of Incapacitation is issued pursuant to Rules 44.20 and 56.1; or (b) in the case of a prohibition under Rule 40.10 or 44.19 subsequent to the day that a Veterinarian or Authorised Person’s gives his/her opinion that a Greyhound is In Season apply to a Steward(s) that the Greyhound be examined by an officiating Veterinarian or Authorised Person in the presence of a Steward in order to determine whether at the time the Greyhound is free of injury or is not In Season as the case may be. A Trainer shall be permitted to make only one such application.

What's the rule number requiring this?

The judge couldn't have been any less competent than the JCA normally is.... Here's a reminder... http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/nzgra-request-for-review-j-dunn-v-riu-decision-dated-5-november-2015/?searchterm=jason dunn*

Which dog in the lead voluntarily ease free of interference in the last 20 metres? What lure is the #1 looking at in this still (note the direction of the shadows of the dogs heads on the ground)? C'mon Paul, surely with all your years of experience you can work out when a dog eases & turns it head.

Stewards reports, up until today at least, listed the race day vet. Today, for some strange reason, no vet whatsoever is listed. The vet in the image is the "usual" Wednesday race day vet... Yes? I'm questioning why today there wasn't one.

Has there been any requests to remove any material I have posted under the Harmful Digital Recording Act?

Race #1, I think your weight might be a bit off... Race 5 … what do you reckon the #1 was doing in the run home.... (have a look again at the video again if you need reminding) also in race #5.. your weight seems to have gone adrift again... Well that's the first third of the card... I can't be bothered looking for the rest of the stuff ups that I'm sure it will contain.

So has the top dog awarded one of the crooked vets name suppression? https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/13410/stewards-report.aspx

Greyhound racing had a great race caller...

Per the rules, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter whether the actual ailment was kennel cough or not. What does matter, is that on Friday night it was diagnosed as "Kennel Cough"... On Saturday morning it may have become apparent to connections that the problem was actually "Kennel Cough", but that doesn't change the fact that the dog received an "illness" stand-down for it. Once a stand-down is declared for an "illness" then a whole different set of rules come in to play. Surely the professionals know this, that's what they are paid to know & enforce. Even if they are not sure, I'm sure they all carry a rule book with them when on the job. It seems this corrupt steward still doesn't understand that other can read the rule book too & at least I for one, am not afraid to call them to task when the get it so wrong. If I sensed things were on the improve, then maybe I'd start cutting them a bit of slack as they too are human. But things just seems to be getting worse & worse... This incident is very near the top of the list of those I've done "My" investigation over....

This will define what Godber is made of... Harness race fixing - over the RIU's head & referred to the police. Greyhound race fixing - ??? He really has no choice other than get the police involved if he has even a sliver of integrity in him... Anything else... he's as corrupt as those that he oversees.

What has happened between Friday & Monday is Race (match) Fixing... INCA investigators should become involved at once!

Ok... So Jeff was scratched Friday night under rule 44.20 because of an "illness" (kennel cough), which seems legit. 44.20 Any injury or Illness detected by the Veterinarian or Authorised Person at the time of kennelling shall be notified to the Stewards by way of a Certificate of Incapacitation, which shall contain a recommended period of incapacitation. Such Greyhounds shall be withdrawn from the relevant Race and subject to Rule 56.5 shall not be eligible to compete in any Race during the recommended period of incapacitation. "Ask King Jeff Rule 44.20 from 08 Feb 2019 to 09 Feb 2019" Saturday Jeff was cleared to race ASK KING JEFF which was a late scratching at Wanganui on 08.02.19 when found to be suffering from kennel cough, was represented on 09.02.19. On that occasion, ASK KING JEFF was again examined by the Vet who found no evidence of kennel cough and under Rules 56.5 & 56.6 the original stand down was rescinded and the dog was subsequently cleared to continue with his racing program. Rules 56.5 & 56.6 read as follows... 56.6 If the Greyhound is found not to be suffering an injury or is not In Season upon an examination pursuant to Rule 56.5, the restriction imposed pursuant to Rules 44.19, 44.20 and 56.1 shall be removed immediately. Clearly rule 56.6 is not the correct rule as it only covers "injury" or "being in season" Jeff was scratched because of a respiratory illness (kennel cough)... Therefore, the correct rule to rescind the stand-down is 56.8 & 56.9. 56.8 Where: (a) A Greyhound is examined by the officiating Veterinarian at a Meeting and is found to be suffering from an illness or condition which affects or may affect its central or peripheral nervous system, its respiratory system or any part of those systems, or which in the opinion of that Veterinarian may cause erratic behaviour or unsatisfactory performance of the Greyhound in, or otherwise affect the true running of, a Race; or (b) The Board is notified at the hearing of an information or an objection or appeal that the Greyhound has such an Illness or condition; the Stewards shall order the Greyhound to be prohibited from competing in a Race until such time as a Veterinarian is satisfied that the Greyhound ceases to have any such Illness or condition. 56.9 Where a Greyhound is prohibited from competing in an Race pursuant to Rule 56.8, the Owner or Trainer may apply in writing to the Chief Steward for a further examination of the Greyhound by a Veterinarian. Before such examination, the Greyhound shall be required to complete a Satisfactory Trial in the presence and to the satisfaction of a Steward. Upon completion of a Satisfactory Trial, the Greyhound shall be examined by a Veterinarian approved by the Chief Steward or another Steward authorised by him/her. If the Veterinarian’s examination indicates that the Greyhound is in good health, he/she shall issue a certificate to that effect and the prohibition under Rule 56.8 shall cease to have effect immediately. Jeff did not take part in a satisfactory trial, therefore it had not right to be re-examined. Jeff had no right to be in the race & I hope connections of other dogs in the race file a protest of the results. Making up the rules as you see fit again Top Dog? Retire before your time runs out to do so.

Breaking news to come when time allows (at work now)... Watch this space before dinner time! GW has made what might be his "fatal" mistake.
