  1. No I had been thinking along similar lines. The sales will be interesting in years to come if they stay in the game.
  2. Bit underwhelming price wise? The broodmare band Yulong has is incredible!
  3. Doh! https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/350287844/deep-south-poor-cousins-nz-thoroughbred-racing-criticised It's been that organisation's open intention since at least the M Report!
  4. Unfortunately the abandonments have become an absolute bore. Is there any point in even being concerned about them anymore? Nothing but a written report gets done about them & that's only to cover butts.
  5. I'm not suggesting it happened, it happened.
  6. It's happened I can assure you.
  7. Go on FB & read about it.
  8. No competition in club land , means standards have dropped. Preferenced clubs get away with everything no matter how bad (see Ellerslie,Awapuni,Riccarton for examples) they perform, therefore they don't care most also have little skin in the game. NZracing gets what it deserves.
  9. Ex racehorses in Pony Scurry races being ridden by trackwork riders against legitimate pony club horses and riders... nothing more than a circus.
  10. It's lost it's way very quickly this pony series.
  11. Could have been there , anywhere they had the flexiblity to shape the course and weren't at the mercy of the clubs. i.e. Ellerslie etc
  12. Which it probably should have been all along, the jumps trainers probably should have got behind centralising the racing at a venue solely for winter or jumps racing , but that was never going to happen self interest takes centre place in all aspects of NZ racing.
  13. They do what they can copy or outsource simple as that(Animal welfare, stable audits,CPD,Venue Plans, thoroughbred rehoming etc) what they can copy can either be fabricated from a measurement perspective or simply glossed over with corporate BS ... simple as that really, what can be outsourced is never their responsibility or something they are accountable for. They will never attack anything of significance as they simply don't have the expertise to do so. (see the IT project as an example)
  14. Surely the dogs go then quickly the jumps. A sad part of the industry to lose but they've let it get into the state its in .
  15. You certainly can't take the above organisation seriously, pretenders from top to bottom.
  16. Like I say the fools reckon they can get rid of tracks.
  17. Yeah but the NP race with 4 starters had the CEO horse in the race so it had to be run.
  18. Yeah heaps of control telling your trainer to aim your Preferment colt for the KM 2yo race.
  19. Unfortunately that is the plan, to choke the smaller trainer out of the industry , of course the other thing that does is close down local race tracks by stealth with little or no resistance so they can sell up.
  20. is that at the annual Ellerslie meeting ?
  21. Nothing more than an attempt to control .
  22. Cannot afford to get rid of a single track , the clowns haven't learnt already. More corporate BS from the circus.
  23. TBF it's not just them that don't understand that.
