Rough call NM ,plenty of the larger clubs have had some embarrassing track situations of their own (some on numerous occasions), the neglect of small clubs by the likes of NZTR is a major reason for the prolonged decline of the industry imo. Not that TA is a club that has been neglected though.

They probably know if they did attempt to compete that TA would have 5 in the race and the riding ranks in NZ being what they are they'd have to put a 4kg claimer on , after the jock who won a maiden on their 200k horse opted to ride the TA 5th choice in the race.

Absolutely , most certainly owners do and thats why its great to see the continued focus on the above.

If you look at the legislation you can understand why, I think there is something in there about racing clubs having race dates assets can't be disposed of in under 2 years, something like that at any rate. It's all very planned out, as the location of several race meetings borders on the absurd, its more important they get their hands on assets than present a decent product to the world and that sums up the running of racing in this country. As many of us have pointed out there was no analysis whatsoever in which tracks should have dates and which shouldn't, it all unfortunately depends on who is in the club and that will be what really destroys the sport in this country , self interest and nepotism.

I guess the thing I like most about the Tangerine hugouts is the focus on KFE and their staff its great to see, really shows owners what how much fun they could be having if they were the centre of attention -great racing theatre!

Even better was the pXss trip they got on the WS boat after winning the Cup with an Ocean Park, absolute class from Mark Chittick massive hats off to that!
