  1. Exactly, she might also have a number of slow ones, that can happen and can be significantly magnified when youre in a small stable .
  2. Agree on the mares, not so sure on TA keeping blood in the country , I'd prefer to see a greater spread of the top bloodstock in the country than what there currently is. Also I'm not convinced TA are keeping anything in the country the Australians don't want, i.e. they usually get what they want.
  3. HAve you thought about giving her a call and telling her where she is going wrong? Better still why don't you go to the sales and buy her a few Savabeels for her to train?
  4. been retired hasn't he , heading to stud, Newhaven???
  5. Yes I know, my statement is obviously based on the potential of a number of runners which I think are quite exciting. The KM will be a larger field so obviously more depth, but which horses cause you to get excited in the KM 2yo? You'd have to think the Sires Produce will be a helluva a race if everything goes there in the 2yo category.
  6. I think most of Fillies & Mares races still hold up to BT form, which is something to be hopeful for the future.
  7. The calendar is responsible for that and to a degree the KM also. I think we might be seeing a couple of really nice ones on Saturday, well I hope so. Lets face it , its just a continuation of where Black Type racing in this country has been heading for a while.
  8. Share your enthusiasm with me? What am I missing? https://www.nzb.co.nz/sponsorships/karaka-million/2yo-2021 For $1m it hasn't got the heart racing imho.
  9. Agree, but given the KM its still a fairly interesting race, despite the KM being a bigger field and with all the hype and hoopla that goes with it, I don't expect the field to be much better than this.
  10. Ah no I don't , my impression given the outcome is pretty clear.
  11. The Wellesley looks an interesting race this week with Titled , Ansu and the TA horse all lining up. I thought both Titled and Ansu were impressive at their first starts.
  12. I agree completely, the calendar is appalling and killing racing not enhancing it. But the calendar is no longer being used for the benefit of racing , it has an ulterior motive mostly political in nature.
  13. We can assume we both don't know, given the related party I think you are referring to is spouting on about it , my money would be on someone else being the main driver behind it. You seem to have far to much faith in NZ racing & the judicial procedure. I still believe its a poor look for the sport, its not really about racing now is it , its about money , power , breeding , the sales the list list goes on. Of course I could be completely wrong and what is really happening here is the recipients are seeking out justice for all ...LMAO
  14. You're assuming they aren't driving it. You'd have to be somewhat naïve to think TA aren't the main push behind it , if you have any idea about NZ racing, which I'm sure you do. As an aside how do you see this benefits the stakeholders in the future?
  15. What I'm saying is how many other stables would be able to go to these lengths to get their rider available ? I'd venture none in NZ, everyone else would suck it up and dip into the pool of other jocks (of which this stable would have their pick) , this situation is looking sillier by the day.
  16. Time to return to the Beautiful Game Jason ! To ease the soul!
  17. Money & Influence , a further poor look for what is the inherently bias landscape of NZ racing.
  18. Like they would admit to that -get with the program Thomass!
  19. Indeed a very obvious one ; 0
  20. Or to muddy the waters .
  21. Broken dirt today at Riccarton I see, NZ Racing on an unstoppable roll now!
  22. Exactly Mark! I think the CEO role in racing clubs in NZ has to be the most overrated role in racing. I've advocated for a centralisation of that function and cannot see why it wouldn't work , the savings would be enormous and the knock on bureaucracy would also help the industry. Te Rapa, Hawkes Bay Racing ,New Plymouth Racing , Tauranga Racing, Awapuni Racing,Wanganui racing ,Ruakaka Racing , Otago Racing,Otaki Racing and possibly a number of other clubs all have full time CEO roles as I understand , surely with the change in legislation the number of roles is not required, its more an event management function than anything else?
  23. I think there are another couple , but perhaps professionalism lets them down somewhat.
  24. Never thought for a second he wasn't !
  25. They ask (lip service) but they do not listen. I don't mind if they have something to back up their below average listening skills, but they do not.
