  1. I think the other issue is the criminal under usage of several better tracks around the country , that have suffered at the hands of the venue plan etc.
  2. Oh C'mon now CS! The Tangerine Hug Outs are now a part of NZ Racing Folklore! Not my fault you don't enjoy great racing theatre!
  3. Yesterdays Hug out wouldn't win any Emmy award , she needs to bring out her Karaka Million night hugs they seem a bit more realistic and wholesome....no?
  4. I looking more and more like yet another "sign" of the racing times if you will.
  5. Would be great if they could at least have the NZ & Aus gallops on the station, in particular Saturday. But while the TAB are at it , why don't they save some $$ by putting a halt to the embarrassing form comments on their form guides, read some of the Slipper ones are just cringe!
  6. Tycoon Lil was a heluva a filly , I know her rider spoke in glowing terms of her, probably didn't fulfil the potential she had.
  7. Exactly right, there is no point in even thinking about what's wrong, those in charge don't care, dont know and don't listen! You can do all the fb lives and bs stories you want but when the leadership keeps making f@@ked up decisions based on absolutely nothing ...there is no hope for a decent future. Racing in NZ biggest problem has always been self interest and an inability to see the bigger picture, that wont change. The base of the industry is being crushed at the moment and has been since M report and BS coming on board . Unfortunately I fear it is only going to get worse!
  8. What is amazing is that the trainers achievements for winning big races in this country are lauded by everyone yet , yet the horse(s) winning G1s in NZ(and I don't disagree with that perspective) are questionable by many, very odd perspective imho.
  9. What a carnival it was... Yawn!! A cashed up stable won the NZ Derby with an expensive Aus Bred ... Yawn! Another cashed up stable quinella the 2yo G1 trial...sorry race with 2 expensive Aussie bred horses ... Yawn! TA won 4 or 5 or 57 races in a day on one of the days or every day of the carnival , can't remember .. Yawn! 2 more Aus bred horses fought out another G1 from one of those cashed up stables mentioned before... Yawn! Bill Pomare a battler from Rotorua way won the G1 Auckland Cup! How has this been allowed to happen and why hasn't NZracing gotten ridden of his ilk yet?All those policies and initiatives introduced by NZracing are clearly not working as efficiently as needed to turn the big ship NZracing around! do they know he is a battler or have they mixed him up with another more prominent stable? I'm also hearing the horse was by a Kiwi based Sire? - Wonderful story and some reality that most of the industry can really aspire to. Go the Tang....er..in.. Yawn!
  10. Not often I can say this, but not one single race at Ellerslie interests me on Saturday. Having said that there were some great races there on Derby day. I can see it all changing , in that I can see it all falling apart, its hanging by a thread at the moment only most people don't realise it. As for a holistic view , I couldn't agree more, but there are too many agendas, too many self interested , too much amateurish administration, too many changes for the sake of change , too much hype and BS that doesn't stand up to scrutiny and too many that have forgotten about what once made the sport great in this country!
  11. Was always going to happen, call in the reserves but the fact there was only 4 initial noms says more about the real state of the sport. Particularly when the industry bends over backwards for Ellerslie on everything and I mean everything!
  12. Exactly and well put. Some in the industry are creating a problem so they can be the ones that are seen to fix it, much like has been done with the venues.
  13. This is just one example of whats wrong with the sport in this country, this in any form cannot be a good thing. The powers that be don't understand how the the industry operates, that all areas are required to sustain the pyramid scheme. Just another nothing race on a Thursday. https://loveracing.nz/News/32779/NewhomeawayfromhomeforMarlboroughCup.aspx
  14. Same hay supplier as that Matamata stable used perhaps? and a couple of bales contaminated.
  15. Hello! Because those are the lowest noms most recently out, much has been written about those other races without me having to comment on them. Stop beating around the bush and making excuses for it, don't tell me youre now a member at Ellerslie? The industry should be very worried by those initial nominations and you know it. Much has been said about the direction its heading in and most of it is coming home to roost , I have to say faster than I'd even imagined.
  16. Have to agree with Tesio on that one , absolutely 100% correct! also other facets to it, but certainly part of the problem.
  17. I'm not falling into that trap, I'm not running the sport and I'm one of many who are never listened to, 4 noms for a G1 2yo race at a so called carnival is a disgrace!
  18. 4 noms (yes I'm sure there will be more put in) for a G1 2yo at Ellerslie and some people thinking the sport is being run well FFS!
  19. I was thinking similar after watching it yesterday, particularly the step up in trip at Trentham. Highlight of the day was the performance of Entriviere imo , looks an amazing animal, I'd walk across hot coals to watch that one gallop!
  20. No administrators the whole sport would improve tenfold!
  21. Chief writes them love letters about their expensive yearling purchases, they must be good letters huh? Wouldn't it be great to have seen the process go to these lengths to prove several other innocents in the past, perhaps it could have saved some good people several unnecessary headaches.
  22. http://www.theoptimist.site/tab-cash-in-on-covid-but-stakesmoney-remains-static/
  23. I know youre TA biggest fan , but this is getting ridiculous!
