Ok Karrots,a fun challenge for you this weekend. Name Horses/Owner. During the past week,I have part owned Horses racing at Alexandra Park,Addington,& Gloucester Park. The Racing Gods have smiled, rewarding me with 2 wins,1 second.1 third. If answer correctly, you deserve The Brain Teaser Crown!

One would hope that The Telfer Venture into opening Twin Island Stables is more successful than "Micky Mouse" & his Northern Venture!
-
Gammalite, are you tempted to get a Syndicate of Mates together to buy The Spitfire, and get him trained in South Australia, where he could campaign around Globe Derby for several more seasons before retirement!😜

I've said it before, and i'll say it again.O M G SPITFIRE. Showed keenness to take a foward position from the mobile second row, ending up 4 back the outer. Midrace lead changes promoted Spitfire to a rare one/one position. Set alight near turn to come three wide into straight, was soon within a length of leader, then kept narrowing the gap, surging to the lead in shadows of the post. Showed his maiden win to be no fluke, and again, full credit to Amber Hoffman.

Karrots,Tim has been a regular at Alex Park since The Early 70's,originally keeping The Tote Ladies busy. Then from 90's,added Ownership Interests. Then New Millenium Era,became heavily involved in Amateur Drivers Movement, twice travelling to USA to compete. Then last decade turned his hand to training a couple of his own,and suddenly his Team Numbers Swelled to 20 horses or more. Last Year passed Milestone of 100 Training Wins. Tim has been an avid supporter of both Junior Drivers & Amateur Races, plus been generous with his Sponsorship Dollars. Within recent years,The ATC has projected Stakes Increases to $30k Minimum,so Tim became more active at Yearling Sales. However, the ill fated Apartment Developments have torpedoed the projected stake increases. Battling Officialdom regarding Handicapping, has been a big factor in Tim scaling back numbers in recent months, and now handing over his team to Sheryl Wigg,a very capable horsewoman. A recent 'stab in the back' by a jealous Waikato Trainer may have been the final straw for Tim.

The Board of Wanganui Greyhound Racing Club has welcomed FRANK BIRKS into his newly appointed Roll as Track Curator. This will appease those who were calling for 'The Head' of Mark Beeson.

On a weekend when Group One Glory had already been attained by Kiwis in Australia, namely Stylish Memphis & Majestic Man, then today at Oamaru came another momentous victory! Aveross Spitfire,at start 59,broke his maiden status with a dashing victory. Todays race eventually began after two false starts, and from a second row draw,it was not surprising to see The Spitfire settle at the rear. Then midrace driver Jonny Cox set the 7yo gelding alight with speed he has rarely shown on raceday before. He looped the field with purpose & strode to the lead.Turning for home, when most would have expected Spitfire to retreat,he in fact left his rivals gasping and Won Untested. For Amber Hoffman and New Owners, this must have felt like a "Group One Victory" also.

Wow,a brilliant burst from 2nd last on turn carried Stylish Memphis to Group One Glory.A$200,000 Stake. then with the half hour High speed carried Majestic Man to the lead from a second row draw within the first few hundred metres. Thereafter he was not seriously challenged to Win The Group One Trot at Melton,A$100,000 Stake. Great Result for Kiwi Connections.

Karrots, almost correct. - Taupiri Wonder was a reference to a grand thoroughbred trained at Taupiri during The 1970's. In retirement,he spent many years as Clerk Of Course Horse at Alexandra Park.
-
Brodie, whilst you make valid points,of course there were no online buyers a few years ago. My mate successfully purchased a Lot (after being passed in) from the comfort of his couch in Auckland.

Brodie,Karen Walsh wins her share of races, and is The Strike Rate Queen, rarely outside Top Three on National UDR Table. However on wins alone,Karen hovers at bottom end of Top Ten. Her main owner Gary Harding has cut back his breeding program from a decade ago,and he now enjoys much success in The Thoroughbred Game.

Hi Brodie am curious who the 2 kennels are you refer to! Team Cole the only dominant one in my eyes. Agree,The Greyhound Future next few years will be interesting. At the moment,Swarbrick and Her Vigilante's don't have much sway, thank goodness.(but of course that could change in future elections) It's pertinent to note that NSW Politicians a couple of years ago, decreed that they were closing down Greyhound Racing in That State, due to Live Baiting Issues as exposed on TV Documentary. The backlash from Rank and File Greyhound Supporters,& Joe Public saw this decision over turned, and The Politicians concerned given "The Archer" at the next election.

Andre has dug out his old black & whites to good effect. Led home The Winner of Last Race at Hattrick last night, for non other than Cole/Rendle.Trust Clarkie didn't throw his wine bottle at the tv.lol

The Commentator Rosso has just stated the winner R8 Bronski Beat has received a 5 Day Standdown for cramp. The runner up Von Strass has received a 90 Day Standdown (2nd offence),which could be appealed!!
