  1. Karma-to a degree! At least the skulduggery around the nomination of Thrilling Billy at Cambridge today was not rewarded with a victory in Race 10 by a Ferguson Runner, though this same combination snared a third placing, and a nice cheque of $669. I have enjoyed watching P Ferguson's rise within The Greyhound Trainers Ranks, since becoming a dual code participant, culminating with Group One Glory earlier this month,,winning time honored Waterloo Cup.Now it seems he wears his trotting cap that many see as the domain of Cheats.
  2. THRILLING BILLY Race 10 # 4 tomorrow at Cambridge.Racebook details.Trainer P Ferguson.Owners P Ferguson & I O'Neill.Same combination as Group 1 Waterloo Cup Winner Robson earlier this month. This Cambridge Race tomorrow has 8 entrants,no reserves.Tainer P Ferguson supplies 3 of these entrants, and I O'Neill also shares ownership of Trojan's Magic.Totally easy to see why Aussie Aussie Aussie 'smelt a rat' in his opening post here.So do I.(unless the posts and photos of Thrilling Billy being rehomed are mistaken identity!!)
  3. Good question Rockit.I am thinking Yankiwi was not referring to the fact that The Top Training Team Fahey had 3 x winners and 3 x placegetters on the undercard.
  4. Jenny,I saw for several years the affection you showered upon Vintage Red and great life he was able to enjoy in retirement, via your numerous posts/photos on Facebook. The same has followed with Brat,Quest, and Disco.Awesome to see that their Racing Owners/Trainers sought out the best in re-homing options.
  5. Yankiwi. This reminds me of The Glorious Summer of '13,when I won my first nine race day starts.Oh how we punted up large and enjoyed our breeding success.Fore runner of years to follow!
  6. You could write her in depth knowledge of the greyhound industry on the back of a postage stamp.
  7. Bloody Hell.If this news pleases and delights Sean & The Board,I would hate to imagine how catastrophic bad news would be!!!!!
  8. Looks like The Cole Juggernaut will be taking home another Bigtime Haul of Awards Season Wins *On track to break last season's record tally of 803. Stake Earnings*Set to break $2million barrier again. Most Wins*Top Two:Sir Dougie 21:Bigtime Pete 20 Dam*Top Two:Ocotillo 80:Night Pearl 75 Sprint*TopThree*Sir Dougie:Bigtime Pete:Bigtime Eve Middle Distance*Trojan Hoarse NZ Bred*Trojan Horse:Bigtime Pete*also 7 of top 10. Wonder if Coles or Rendle will Collect Awards in person!
  9. I remember many moons ago,a greyhound I always handled was wrongly pronounced by commentator.(It did have an ambiguous sounding spelling.)So one fine day,I climbed the stairs to Commentators Box,and politely informed Pete Earley pre-race of the correct pronunciation. He told me in no uncertain terms,"if the monkey wants it changed, don't send the organ grinder".lol
  10. Wonder what Blair's winners total would be if Dexter still driving here.Imagine Blair would still play Second Fiddle.
  11. I totally agree with gambler. If anyone took the time to give a written statement to SPCA in good faith,in the hope that it would strengthen their case, and SPCA couldn't even be bothered to get in touch or give courtesy of a reply, then sod it,sod them.
  12. Oh how quickly they forget!!!No mention of Radio Pacific Doyen in their early days Chris McQuaid.
  13. And don't get Aquaman started on The Tie Dress Rules at Addington.☺️
  14. Peter Earley read The Final Field out on Trackside just prior to the final race. From memory $1.60 Favourite Dyna Weslyn drew Box 5.I think odds should be $1.30 at most.
  15. Oh The Irony. Brendon standing on trailer outside the track watching his dogs run. Wind the clock back ten years, and another trainer warned off, watched Manukau Races over the fence up a tree by the first bend/lure finish, screaming his lungs out. About to be leading witness in case v BDC.
  16. Even stranger..The Winner Bigtime Pete, now winner of 12/25 races, and second favourite tonight,is only referred to as Boy Pete twice in this report.Surely Head Stipe Gavin Whiterod has seen most of these Races in person, and should be familiar with this dogs correct name.
  17. Saw Craig at Karaka Yearling Sales Ring few years back, and his first foray into Thoroughbreds won over $200 k in a couple of seasons with S.McKee,so I reckon he has 'cut it' in the sport of kings Four shaw!
  18. Another honest mistake BitofaLegend, but Geoff hates it when people spell his surname wrong ending with an 'S'. I remember many years ago,Geoff sponsored a Race at Cambridge via Pete Henley, and in Racebook his name was spelt wrong. The following year, when Cambridge sought re-sponsorship,Geoff obliged on proviso they spelt his name correctly, and low and behold, spelt Bates again!
  19. Hmmmn..wondering what your dealings were with Geoff Bate (Auckland),that would lead you to make such a comment. Personally,in my dealings with Geoff,he was nothing but honourable.
  20. Thank you Bob,that explains things.(Stipe spelling blunder) Yes,condolences to The Fredricksons.
  21. Stipe Report from todays Palmerston North GRC highlights that: Bigtime Leroy trialed before racemeeting, suffered a gastric dilation, and was euthanised by Vet. A look on NZ Greyhounds Official Site,Greyhound Profiles,Bigtime Leroy = No profiles that match search criteria. Someone at Head Office has been super swift in erasing any such history of this poor deceased racedog!
  22. To quote Oz from Auf Wiedersehen Pet,Lisa looks like "a tidy bit of tackle".
  23. Just reading Stipes Report now for this race, and Stand Down for Bender Truth is recorded as being 3 MONTHS. Owners Ashley Bradshaw/Peter Seque,do the honourable thing by all your fellow industry participants and retire this dog immediately. It can only ruin careers of rivals,or even worse cost lives! Current Trainer Jason Dunn, common Jase, don't waste your time and effort persevering with this greyhound any longer. All potential rivals in future will be grateful i'm sure.
  24. Merv,I understood that 'Benjamin David Francis' was a superb 'bush lawyer',rarely losing a case in The Enquiry Room. Surprised he didn't come to your aid!
  25. Ace Action = Profile Hard to imagine a worse case of 'marring' than in the video shown by Yankiwi above. This dog qualified 2nd of 7 @ Forbury, and made his Race Debut 3 weeks later @ Addington from the kennels of Steve & Bonnie Evans.Box 1,started $2.10 Favourite. Won this race, but marred several other runners, and earned his first stand down 28 days. My question, did he show such erratic traits when training,or did he only reveal this ugly trait when taken to the races!!! Fast foward four months,a change of kennel to John McInerney, and Ace Action lines up again as Race Favourite in the video above. Second Guilty Marring Offense, earning three month stand down. Wonder how he passed The Satisfactory Trial before being permitted to race again!! Not surprisingly,Ace Action was never seen on raceday again.
