  1. Whilst this may appear at first glance as a kind of rotation. The Reality Is: Dr Joan Hessell is Vet for Auckland Greyhound Racing Club. Dr Phil Morrison is Vet for Cambridge Greyhound Racing Club.
  2. Taken from NZGR Rules as per 6 April 2022. Rule 51.1 in a nutshell,Lure controlled at a distance not less than 5 metres/and no greater than 10 metres ahead of the leading Greyhound. However,Stewards may permit a variance to such distance if they are satisfied that as a consequence of such variance,No Greyhound has been substantially inconvenienced in running to affect outcome of Race.
  3. Hmmmn, and what's happened to Sammy Phillips : 21/22 Trainers Strike Rate Premiership Winner!!!
  4. Des Wyatt,an 'Old School' Gentleman.Had the pleasure of attending many Race Meeting with him.At Randwick 1977 SIr Silver Lad and Matamata 1978 winning his final ride. RIP Des.
  5. Also struck in: R11 1st $11.40 R12 1st $2.10 This must surely be a record * 8 Winners on 12 Race Card (plus a second)😄
  6. I assume Trainer notifies when nominating for first time!! Todays results illustrate that PBD's are having desired effect of reducing interference in races. That is,wide runners/railers drawn inside out & squashing runners in 'squeeze box's'.
  7. Box 4,Blue Rug certainly not most desired usually,but today:🤑 R1 1st @ $41.60 R2 1st @ $2.10 R3 1st @ $4.30 R4 1st @ $3.50 R5 unplaced R6 1st @ $2.40
  8. Mogul was in last weeks Gavelhouse Auction & SOLD for $3000.
  9. Yes.Smooth Deal,Winner of Group 1 2yo Young Guns Cardigan Bay Stakes $90k at Alex Park for Purdon/Rasmussen. Exported in 2021,recorded 5 wins running around Victoria for expat Brent Lilley. 2022 season,on winless streak of 12 starts before transferring to B Yole's Tasmanian Stable, where winless streak increased to 29 runs. 2023 began year Bang Bang Bang,Winning 3 x times in 15 day period,so obviously 'his turn' was long overdue.
  10. Oh Dear Oh Dear: Today at Manukau, all O'Regan runners scratched,as per Rule 25 (4A) This refers to Minimum vaccination requirements not met. So,13 runners drawn in fields, after being scratched, left The Club with field sizes of *3*4*5*5 and only one/or two divies win/place. Note the best 'over the odds' quinella dividend I have ever seen in Race 2. 3 dog field, only 3 possible combinations, hot fav @ $1.30 wins.Quinella pays $19.00 🤑(Trifecta pays $6.90)
  11. Bloody Hell. Some people seem hellbent on portraying the sport they supposedly love,in the worst possible light. Seems more than the winner of Race 1 needed swabbing!!! Did Ms Waretini end her two and a half year spell of 'being clean' perhaps! Regardless, such behaviour totally unwarranted. Will Mark Lin send Little Hero (and any others in this kennel) North to help boost our numbers I wonder!
  12. So,I have heard of Dual Sulky Races/but never Dual Drive Races. If Republican Party gains a start, who WILL Carter Drive I wonder!!!
  13. 14. As Ludwig pointed out, another winner today (his only runner),to improve his impressive record. Taking a look at record of today's winner SOPHIE. Previously trained by John McDermott.Had 16 winless starts, with 1 second,2 thirds banking $6k in career earnings. Since joining Tyler Dewe,6 starts have resulted in 3 Wins/ 1 Second & Banking $17,800. Perhaps he has hotline to Aussie with Jason Grimson, who also works wonders with hithertoo Ordinary Horses!
  15. Valid points you make Brodie. It remains to be seen what after sale deals are done! Naturally the Head Cheerleader Guerin is trumpeting what a great 1st Day Sale it was with $61k Average. Well,if half of those passed in had no reserve, then how much would this average have crumbled!!! Worth noting that Aussie Buyers did not seem too active. All those Captaintreacherous Yearlings (with exception of Agent Purchase unknown)seem set to at least begin their racing careers with NZ Trainers. This in total contrast to Karaka Thoroughbred Yearling Sales.
  16. During the recent week,I have read his advert seeking horses to train, with deals accepted. Says to bolster his team after recent sales.
  17. Karaka Sale: 128 Lots. 83 Sales under the hammer. 40 Passed In. 5 Withdrawn. Average Sale Price $61k
  18. Latest Boom Stallion, fresh from his two runners finishing 1st & 2nd in $250k Chariots Of Fire at Menangle last night. Crossed The Tasman last month, joining 'The Magic Barn' of Jason Grimson. Raced at Menangle last night (after Chariots Of Fire) and Won,making Oz Record 3/3. Has already banked $50,700.

  20. Well, well, well,Horses (& Greyhounds) can make fools of us all. On the back of a super freshup Win,Captain Ravishing was sent out red hot fav @ $1.15,led unchallenged, and got easily headed in run to line by horse mainly sitting parked. Looks like Mark Pitt went so quick in front, with opening quarter 26seconds,that 'The Captain' had no sting in his finish. Still,on this occasion, all honours with Gath Runner Catch A Wave.
  21. WELL WELL WELL *Wins @ $6 Fixed Odds @ $5 Tote.🤑 The magical winning run of Tyler Dewe continues!!!
  22. Ex Ocker Craig Rail. Now based deep south.
  23. Agree Gamma. To describe the quality of Ben Yole's Tasmania Stable as mediocre would be too flattering. Your Aussie Cobber Peter Profit (love or hate him) certainly paints an ugly picture of his character! Is there not a local branch of SPCA there! The fate of those that fail 'last chance to race' seems appalling.
  24. Manawatu Club Officials & TAB will be hoping Cyclone Gabrielle doesn't effect Cook Strait Sailings during next few days! Meeting next Tuesday Feb 14th sees a 7 Race Card with 60 Horses Entered. And Michael House has 24 Horses,Yes that's 40 percent of Starters.Imagine the fields if all scratched!!
  25. Tyler Dewe Debutante: BAILEYS ART has first run from Tyler Dewe Stable next Sunday at Riverton *RACE 2 # 6.
