  1. Have been told she's copped a 2 year ban, though nothing published as far as I can see. Was supposed to be driving in amateur race at Rangiora on Saturday but was replaced. Again, nothing in stipes report about that.
  2. Where did you read that?
  3. Addington racing on a Friday night - Rangiora on the grass, during the day on a Sunday - that's probably why.
  4. Because I have no idea what's going on - hence the question mark(s).
  5. 5 scratchings already at Cambridge - race 3 is now a 4 horse field All C Wigg and Hughes horses are scratched and in the nominations for Auckland. I'd lay money on an "administrative error" resulting in them being able to start at Auckland.
  6. How economic is it to pay a commercial transporter to bring horses from out of the Waikato region to race? Manawatu (x7), Thames (x1), Auckland (x23). Will there be enough drivers in the Waikato region?
  7. Can race at level 3, but only essential staff on course - no owners allowed. At level 2 owners are allowed back, but not punters etc.
  8. Another issue up North is staff. Josh was adverting for months for a stablehand/junior driver but apparently couldn't attract any interest.
  9. NI ranks gonna be even thinner soon with young Bublitz moving South in the new season
  10. Found the answer: 213 (1) A Stipendiary Steward at any time may scratch from a race or declare ineligible to start in a race until a specific condition is met any horse on all or any of the following grounds:- (c) that the horse has had or may have had administered to it a prohibited substance;
  11. Acting on a report provided by Racing Investigators who completed a stable inspection at the training premises of S Wigg this afternoon, Stewards ordered that GETN WIGGY WITHIT (Race 4), SAINT MICHEL (Race 6) and HAPPY PLACE (Race 7) be scratched acting under Rule 213(1)(c). An investigation was opened into this matter.
  12. I think you'll find most (if not all) the other available juniors are in Christchurch for the championship
  13. Same as for the South ... https://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/dochr/hrnz/Guidelines-2021-Junior-Champs.pdf
  14. It's great that the punters get looked after when things like this happen, but what about the owners - getting scratched if denied a fair start, or being declared a non-runner means they don't even get the "also ran" dollars.
  15. 319(1)
  16. No idea - just saw the horse being exercised for the vet not long after it arrived on course.
  17. Was inspected in the stabling area prior to the first race
  18. Apparently Hawera has been given a two day meeting 18 and 20 January 2022 (Tuesday / Thursday).
  19. Whangamata is another example of what a change in environment can do - last couple of starts have shown promise.
  20. .... and his fave horse Aveross Spitfire just bolted in at Oamaru too!
  21. The horses were transported to Addington and swabbed so will be interesting to what the swab results show in comparison to what was seized from his stable
  22. At Karaka
  23. There were plenty tested on the day. The stipes grabbed every driver that walked past from what I saw.
  24. There are only 9 junior drivers left in the North Island - sad state of affairs.
