NZTR Consultation Document: Favours "Elite" Trainers!

Too true , if only by manipulation of the bar being set to whatever level they deem required depending what their goal is in any given situation , or with any individual they are dealing with . -

Sounds like they've hooked another winner . -
It's like watching a once great boxer embarrassing themselves thinking they still have it . It's like doing up a urinal , doesn't change what's happening in it . It's not going to future proof racing in the CD , just continuing down the same dreary path . Where's the vibrant innovative ideas . Flushed down the newly painted urinal .

It's a beautiful day and hardly anyone in the public areas , not everyone hides inside .
-
If you went on crowd numbers you would shut Ellerslie down tomorrow , 8 races with a black type race and nobody on course , except the golf course . Perhaps they could have shuttled everybody from Kumara up to Ellerslie to give the place some atmosphere , embarrassing really .

Well Joe you will be pleased to hear that one of WRC big sponsors The Gillies Group has proposed a full redevelopment of the public areas at Trentham . The Race Inc board and the WRC committee have unanimously endorsed a joint venture concept . The Upper Hutt City Council have applied to the $2b Infrastructure Acceleration Fund , Race are now working with central govt and expecting anoutcome soon . So the few that do frequent the den of iniquity are going to be doing it in luxury . This information comes from the Race 2021 Annual Report , horses mouth so to speak .

Trackside/TAB NZ and their idiosyncratic programming.....
nomates replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
The producers have no idea , sometimes they have all NZ racing on the same channel and most of the rest on the other , then they have days like today , where the decision making of what goes where is decided by someone who's hungover from a week on the piss . Either that or they have forgotten to take their medication . It basically sums up NZ racing , all over the effing place with no real direction . -
Mikey , i have told you before they will be providing what the TAB pays for , not SENZ problem . No races on radio today because they are paying for 3 presenters on trackside . Only so much to go around .
-
Obviously not , they have applied approx 70 mils since last Sunday night , irrigated 6mm last night 12 mm on Thursday night , didn't think they were supposed to water within 48 hours of a raceday , well the consequence is they are racing well off the rail across the top and coming down the middle to outside of the straight . Bloody joke , they are effing clueless and never learn anything . Actually embarrassing as an industry .
-
Then you need to record him on mysky and replay an hour before bed . Personally most of them put me to sleep .

I don't get it , i thought our industry was cash strapped , obviously not . Today we have 3 presenters in 3 different locations , 1 covering Awapuni , 1 covering Kumara , and 1 has just come on board covering Australian racing . Do we as punters really need individual presenters for each location , i would say no , the guy covering Aus isn't really giving any insight into the Aus horses so what is the point , couldn't Rodders or Ems tell us that an Aus race is next up . So are the presenters finding it too tough to cover more than 1 meeting . What are the production costs associated with 3 different presenters in 3 locations . It used to be 1 could cover everything for set timeframe then hand over to the next . All a bit confusing when i thought the industry was trying to save costs . Perhaps i've got it wrong and things must be on the up .

Guess it depends on who is serving the "gravy" Mary!

Has NZ racing got enough blood left in it to keep sustaining these positions . -
One area of racing that IS being built from the bottom up , the very bottom . Biggest issue is some of them seem to get off the bottom when they should be heavily chained to the bottom .

They mostly head to Gavalhouse now . Some horses get more on there than they did if they went to Karaka for the K3 sale . NZB gets their blood any which way . -

Exactly Tim . As per usual , they are attempting to build from the top down . They have never got it , still don't . -

Many would have you believe it . This is the real science to training racehorses . If you can get that part down pat it then comes down to the horse' ability . -
Considering the numbers that have raced so far and looking at Kumara on Saturday and the fact they had to split 2 races would suggest there was an argument to be made that this circuit should be extended to another of couple of days next week at least . It's not like there is a lot happening elsewhere in the SI . I love the fact that the tracks are so tight the jocks can't really ride pretty races , so what would usually be considered average rides can't be bagged because they are just as likely to get the result . Have noticed some of the less experienced jocks who maybe haven't ridden these tight circuits much seem at a loss as to quite what to do in some races .

Good luck tomorrow Reefton , if it can match Monday's racing you'll have a cracker .

Sounds like most of stipes , usually there without a responsible adult supervising them .

Do we really believe these are the meetings where the big decisions or plans are instigated or decisions made , these are the paying the lip service meetings , cynical i know , but we have had plenty of experience . -
I'm sure O'Sullivan didn't have him in the top 6 in NZ , but personally i believe he has regressed in the last 2 years , which considering his mentor is surprising .

NZTR Consultation Document: Favours "Elite" Trainers!

For me it just reeks of a Singy/HK model , set number of "A" class trainers and set number of "B" class trainers , the rest of NZ will be bush class of racing , maybe not even that . I believe they have accepted our situation regarding horse numbers , so will start with their elite limited model and hopefully build quality of racing and stakes which then will build the quality of horses staying and racing . They want to get more overseas betting , so a tighter more reliable circle of form will bring increased betting confidence . If they move to an elitist model they will have a bigger fight than ever as clubs being squeezed out of any kind of quality racing will fight just on a point of fairness . Never going to happen , any meetings they have had , have been held and will continue to held under a shroud of secrecy and exclusivity . Let me know if you get notice of an impending meeting , would love to gate crash . As William Wallace in Braveheart said before meeting the English , " i'm off to pick a fight ".
