  1. i think that experience wins that debate , short as it was .
  2. She will have to improve a ton to compete in metropolitan Brissy , she is currently riding 1 in 23 this season , from 70 rides , finished last season at worse than 1 in 10 . If she doesn't get winnners early doors she will end up at Dalby or Esk . I assume from the move , she and S McKay are over .
  3. Programming , particularly in the CD and the SI are a shambles , but they would never put their hands up .
  4. Freda , Freda , WAKE UP , your having a nightmare , WAKE UP , you have horses to work , by yourself .
  5. I was thinking more from the lost domestic revenue , but saying that we have always said there is more to be made in stakes savings than the betting .
  6. OPB needs 3 in Auck and no worse than 3 in the Waikato , i think .
  7. I like the fact that they have given up on her staying here , come on Waikato , surely Ellis could put a syndicate together . Maybe then we could get together and get 1% for fun . 1% of say 2.5 mil = 25k , ok maybe not .
  8. Or owners just say enough is enough and send their horses over to other trainers , going to be interesting . Either way any kind of closure that is going to affect the spring racing isn't going to be good .
  9. Possibly the bigger stables will look to ship large numbers over to Aus .
  10. Can't see the Govt going for it myself , if racing is shut down again or severely hampered then we have to be up for some compensation , considering how much money has gone into keeping business and industry going then surely the racing " INDUSTRY " is entitled to the same . The bigger issue will be what it does to the calendar .
  11. The difference here Joe is if we go down the ones pulling the strings here would be no lose , but as usual they will be first in the life boats .
  12. Yeah but we are into spring and some big races coming up so they need more than last time , going to be interesting all the same , they are not known for forward thinking .
  13. Freda , i don't know whether you are laughing at my positivity be shot down or the twats having a plan , i putting my money on the lack of a plan .
  14. A few weeks on a light diet will soon sort that , the horses that go to Asia are kept light before they go up so they can handle the heat and then start to thrive .
  15. Yeah , but the animal welfare people don't look that deep or realise the intricacies enough to understand that tracks can be a welfare issue .
  16. Cheers , i was trying to be positive and you have shot that to shit , but yes i agree it could well the rest of the NI going back to level 3 . I'm still hoping the big chiefs at NZTR have a plan if they do .
  17. No way she doesn't go to a big Aus stallion , once she got to Aus she would thrive in the heat . Biggest issue is how much condition she is carrying , empty mares are better to be on the skinny side to start then get them improving and covering them on the up .
  18. If they close all of the Waikato racing is in deep shite in the medium term , if i was TA , Pike or any of these other big name trainers i would be getting horses and staff out to other areas . Down this way there is Trentham , Otaki , HBay , New Plymouth , they could all take horses . If it was me i would be ringing D Haworth , can box or shelter 30 horses with plenty of big paddocks and a short float trip to Foxton .
  19. It's the way of the world now " ARSE COVERING " , look at rugby and rugby league , both just a shadow of what they used to be , they have both become all but touch rugby .
  20. I get your frustration Reefton , but they think they know everything and continue on because no one and i mean no one that has any big profile challenges anything , these big trainers have dug this hole we are in as much as the administrators . The ones that are training at the 3 tracks getting A/W's are all happy as Larry because they get a first rate training facility . They have a weeee winge occasionally about the state of stakes but none have the bollocks to say enough is enough " lets get this sorted " , nah just mumble about stakes and waddle away .
  21. Well still early in the season and really depends how she moves on it , might not be giving her any grief walking , but plenty of time to get her covered so if they gave her a month in box and small yard should be fine .
  22. Couldn't have been a bad injury to be going up so soon .
  23. 1st bidder obviously looking for a wall hanging showing they put the first bid in on her , showboaters , will be interesting to see how many of those early bidders will be in at the end .
  24. You know we are , still waiting for another 2998 shares to be sold @$1000 , you and Freda will be in i'm sure .
  25. Exactly Huey , where are the regional plans or a National plan , everything is reactive and piecemeal , and when things are done it's in a disjointed way . Going to be interesting to see what they will do if the Waikato goes back into full lockdown today with these new cases .
