  1. Nice punting Huey , was impressive , no excuses as she came from last . As for Zouzarella she looked uncomfortable in amongst horses and didn't like the buffeting around the bend , looked like a tired horse up the straight going by the margin the winner put on her from the home bend , or maybe switched off , maybe at the end of her prep .
  2. Sorry chief , your stretching it if you are blaming the ride for this filly getting beaten , this filly was stepping up from to mid week city grade , JMac gave her a nice run in behind but was forced to go inside as they bunched around the bend , he was trying to get her off the inside oblivious that the other horse was closing in behind , took corrective measures as soon as he knew and IMO the inexperienced filly overreacted , end off . JMac will probably be having a word in his ear . The filly was beaten by a better horse on the day , had she won could well have lost it in the room , but you can't say it was a poor ride .
  3. Yeah me to , thought about a multi earlier then forgot till after the 1st .
  4. Hope your making plenty .
  5. Now 2 from 2 .
  6. You beat me to it , was going to post that he had won the 1st and that the rest of his mounts for the day are the fav for they're races . The Aus punters don't believe he is out of form . He sits on a horse like no other , so beautifully balanced . The one thing i have learnt is that jocks can't get off and carry horses over the line , some times the horse just isn't good enough .
  7. For those that got some off Kahma Lass on last Saturday at Caulfield , she is backing up on this Saturday in the Tristarc G2 for fillies and mares and has only gone up 1,5 kg's , has opened at 14s , way over for mine and nearly broke my fingers getting my money on . Only issue will be the rain if it comes as forecast .
  8. Hi Gamma , couple to keep an eye on today at Caufield . Hezashocka in R3 , ran on real good at his first start in Melbourne , that was his first run left handed and i noticed him finding the line well last 100 , up to 2000mts today , Caufield not ideal , will love Flemington , won over 2000 here in a stakes race . The other is R5 Il Affaire , ran 4th in the Derby here , looked a smart horse here with a good turn of foot , i don't think the 1400 will be too short , opened 6's but on the drift , but worth a couple of dollars and to follow , looked better than average here .
  9. And only 64 horses going around , only 1 race with an emergency , a sad state of affairs .
  10. Make that 7 races Thursday . Just seen acceptances .
  11. They wont be when owners start racing horses in the north because the rest of NZ can't compete stakes wise , struggling for horses in the CD as it is .
  12. I take it you will be taking a team up Pam .
  13. All a bit suss for me moving the meetings around , as for the 6 races , well the fact that we haven't actually got a tiered system as they would like to suggest , the same horses that can race at Tauherenikau can race at Hastings on Saturday , so where would you go , a S9 and 12k stakes or a D4 with 40k stakes , no brainer .
  14. It is a well known in racing that Caufield can be a tricky track for a horse having it's first run there , i haven't walked it , but have heard many top trainers and form analysts state it over the years and always factor it in when studying a race there . But as with all things it isn't a 100% reliable stat , as many horses get around it just fine first time .
  15. You would think that a business that relies on people spending their hard earned thru their operation would give those customers as much information as possible about the product they are selling , in the hope that the customer would then have confidence to spend more . But seemingly this business would rather rely on an outside business to try and give those customers some information . Our esteemed leaders seem to want to give their customers as little in formation as possible , no other racing jurisdiction in the world has such a dearth of information available for their customers . But some cretins continue to justify the stance , sycophant doesn't even start to describe these people .
  16. Wrapped for the owners Mark and Diane , salt of the earth people , hopefully the mare wins plenty they deserve it , have put plenty in over the years .
  17. I thought Elephant got a poor ride from the draw and toughed it out well, but it's hard to watch that ride in a G1 . Not only in NZ he.
  18. Just watched the race, all heart, i agree that she is length better than the other 2 mares,
  19. When Amarelinha gets a decent run she wins, absolutely no luck again yesterday but stuck to her guns to the line and not far away, she will have my money next start.
  20. Every one in racing has vested interests , some are just less scrupulous than others .
  21. Only 1 winner there Joe , MB never had the cruising speed the great mare had , Sunline IMO is the best mare out of NZ ever.
  22. Yeah but the committee men didn't drink their g and it's on the tracks . Priorities, priorities ffs.
  23. Well if we want a picture of how average our group races are the G3 for mares at Hawera shows us , a 9yo r75 mare wins it , laughable , sad .
  24. I actually quite like Sword of State today for them , much better draw and much fitter, can't see the mare beating Zaaki .
