Just had a friend email me with a whinge about costs getting out of hand in NZ........he mentioned the cost of feed going through the roof, this would explain why the northern cartels training fees are so high, wouldn't it? He also sent me the Coles new world weekly brochure, I needed the defibrillator, how do you buggers feed yourselves, never mind your horses, I know wages in NZ are well below Oz, how the hell can you pay 9 bucks. for 450gm beef sausages, non gourmet! and 60 bucks kg for lamb racks? WTF.........good quality beef sausages here 10/12 bucks kg, lamb racks 24 bucks kg.....FFS, he sent me a pic of NW flogging a watermelon for $28!........gouging, it has to be. We've had a 5 year drought, but you can buy good quality feed and forage at a fraction of the cost of NZ........it just doesn't make sense, it does explain though, certain people driving around in the latest model Merc, BMW and Range Rover up in Moo Loo land, it's a different planet up there obviously.

If they held a losers convention in Petone, it would be a sellout, there's not a brain between them, the owners should be revolting, but they don't, which begs the question, are they thick? apathetic, ambivalent or all?

Are there signs of cracks in the Cambridge AWT training ranks?

NZ's only living brain donors.........Cambridge / Riccarton brains trust, the train is gathering speed, the wreck is coming. -

Isn't it funny, Racenet is where the self confessed fraudster Callander ended up, and the other bloke charged Liam Prior who was Wallers racing manager was re-employed after he served his sentence. Waller knew nothing of the corrupt going ons, as he knows nothing of Shailer and Hammersley's little tete e tete.......isn't it just funny, the coast is rolling about. Job for life Paul, best job on the planet, lots of pressure, he was handling that ok, there's got to be more to this, will we ever know.......history says hell no........aint that a shame. -

We'll have to wait, the cops are in now, so many 'scribes' are in the camp, you can't always believe Archie Butterfly, mainstream media will hold off until the last minute. Like they did when Fatboy Callander and Liam Prior colluded and Wallers owners were defrauded.......hopefully we will know shortly the wash up. -

Yep, they couldn't keep the lid on this one, stand by. -
Not one positive recorded today, record sales of toilet rolls yesterday, the blokes a legend, a one man wrecking ball, he'll get back into power next month with an increased majority, what a flawed species we are, the amoeba must be pissing themselves.

Talking to a leading trainer about tracks, ''best track in the country [AUS] Newcastle. Best rack ever seen, Shatin, worst track ever seen, ''a few in NZ come to mind''....I didn't push him.......but the tracks he mentioned as 'best'.......both Strathayr. The Fwits in all probability didn't conduct a 'Vox-populi' I bet, if they had of polled leading trainers, they would have had all the answers they needed. -
The crowds are still down on last year, the bush meetings are getting better as the bookies are now allowed back, non tab meetings need bookmakers, they bring atmosphere and revenue for the clubs, oh boy do you lot need bookmakers there, on course, not the jokes sitting in the palace and espousing bullshit about the huge bets they are holding.
-
Wrong thread maybe, however, Kate Cowan has just outridden one Michael Rodd in a driving finish at the Sunny Coast [Metro meeting].......her riding has gone to another level, will she ever be seen back home, only for funerals and weddings I reckon.....go Kate.

I feel for the connections of Rock On Wood, did they save him? does anyone know, can you post on here please. Watching the head on up the back Bosson pushes out on the Belle and shortly after Rock goes amiss.....I hope it's not connected, Bosson looked as weak as kitten pulling up, wasting no doubt.

What a bloody good crowd that is, sadly the four foot nothing Aussie will be up there crowing about the state of racing and it's booming.......good luck to the punters that made it to the track, enjoy....and good on you all.

How Many Jockey's Will Sign Up For This?
Joe Bloggs replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
He's obviously a fwit, he's obviously never been to a riding for the disabled, if he had he might have witnessed the body language between horse and rider, they just know, that's why they are special horses for special people! -

You gallop them everyday, thats what you do, call a few trainers up Toowoomba way, engage them, they'll see you right. Maybe Tom Dabernig will take time out to clue a few Kiwi's up, BS stands for something else besides a blokes initials, when it all goes tits up he'll be nowhere to be seen........betcha. -
Bugger, you should still be here, Saundry's got it nailed over there, he was too good for Victoria, he needed a challenge!
-
Covid19 worked in the favour of some, I don't know why Tom Sherry or Robbie Dolan would ever think of going back, Louise has been here for some time but the riding scene here has so many foreign born riders it's remarkable. The Kiwi's have always been here, but journeymen jocks like Billy Cray from UK who rides in the country are earning treble what they would back home.......can you see James M ever going back to NZ? Young A Collet is getting heaps of rides now and her riding has gone ahead leaps and bounds. Pony club is thriving here in QLD, we have one just around the corner, will those kids want to go on and become jockeys? bloody hope so.
-
Ron may've had a few 'butchered' recently, but Louise Day for one is doing terrific, it's hard in SYD as the pool is very closeted, even the former 'Gun' jock Glyn Schofield has to go to the SAT provincials. They don't claim like they used to Waller runs his around with 60kg and doesn't bother using apprentices and he's not Robinson Crusoe. BNE and MEL are the opposite, ADL too, the kids are getting real chances..........we need a lot more coming through the system, the hours are the deterrent not the money.
-
Freda, we've got beaut apprentices scattered all over Oz, IMO it's because of the country racing system and the Non Tabs in many instances, nursery's for both rider and horse. Their ability is realised and they are nurtured, I've long mooted the school is the starting point, the academy in VIC is working and that's a benchmark. NZ needs to copy and paste, Saundry if he was interested should insist that all NZ apprentices need strong and disciplined tuition......with rewards, wheat from the chaff and let those not suited find another career path. Cruel to be kind, no, I don't think it is, it's going to be better for everyone long term and the riding ranks in NZ will get stronger. Having said that, the racing wouldn't inspire many young people would it? it needs to lift it's game, but that needs direction and professionalism from the top........they don't cut the mustard, so it's a conga line heading south, a lot of the up and comers will end up here, and they are welcome, but it shouldn't come to that, they should have the sanctity of a good, sound racing industry, I so hope that it can save itself as the boffins can't, sad fact.
