I think all raced kiwi horses are potentially Menangle level , because they are trained to run 'distance', much more so than Australian trainers train their horses. (2400-3200m) Menangle suits 'stayers' who can hold speed for an extended period, thus it very much suits 'distance' horses, even though the races are generally over a mile. Hezacrocwatcher running 1.58 several times at Cambridge winning and placing there 6 times last summer, ,He is undefeated in Australia in 3 starts now, running 1.56 at both Maryborough and Melton , therefore would run better than 1.54 Easily at Menangle on the big mile track. probably near 1.52.5 . He's pretty good.

Steve Irwin , the amazing QLD crocodile Hunter, would of been All Over this bloke in Race 8 at Ballarat tonight . HEZACROCWATCHER !! A terrific horse and great odds tonight. If old mate Steve was around , I would point out the 2 Bettor's Delight ex-pat kiwis off the Front row as being too hard to beat. Steve would say "Crikey ! looks like a kiwi trifecta !! get on it then. Although this 'Croc' is a reeeaaall beauty!! . and will have them for dinner !!!"

No chance of a 'Getaway' for you at the moment though mate ? I just had a few days at the Gold Coast before we get locked down ultimately in Queensland. very sad there on GC for all the tourist places. Is like a Ghost town now. Only a matter of time before hits QLD as they forgot about the hundreds of Interstate truck drivers. Two were cruising around in QLD while covid positive this week lol. wonder if they will be thrown out of trucks at the border from now on? , and the cabin 'Fumagated' and a 'Clean' driver put in the seat on QLD side of border ?? hahahaha

Brodster Needs the head gear too, so no vaccination is needed. Hang on. All good !! someone has fixed him up already !

One start in NZ Chief for trotter DOUG at Rangiora May 2019 for 6th. 10 wins from 38 Aus starts since. He's a bit of a rogue , probably owned in NZ by a Boay poster who looked for Inspiration to name him.

I find it hard to fault any of them. they do get plenty of drives every week to keep the skills honed. Pete Mcmullen and his three sisters are exceptionally gifted too. With the fields being smaller than NZ ones ,it is WAY EASIER to get involved in the finish . Today at Redcliffe just 9 runners every race on 10 race card. EVERYONE gets a chance to win. Much harder in NZ with those big fields !! those grass tracks huge fields are a nightmare lol..... I always had the opinion in the 12 horse NZ fields you had 23 RIVALS !!! you had to beat /out-point /out manouver the opposing 11 drivers. All them Planning to beat you home !!! THEN you had to factor in what their horses were doing. Some leading/ some stopping in front of you/ some carting you up/ some pushing you wide. You always had to have some idea of their capabilities. 11 horses trying to beat you each race too . AND your Own horse too is your main rival ??!!! Will it go when you want it too. ? Can I out-think this horse ?? That is the one trying to beat you the most , believe it or Not. The one you as driver are responsible for making a winning or losing move during the race??? The driver has to be very a-tuned to what his own drive can do , sprint from the quarter?/ burn the gate and have something left?/ keep plugging on when you need it too at the end? you ask endless questions of it . TWENTY THREE is a LOT of RIVALS in one race !!!!! it's bloody hard to win.

You'll be short of getting a winner then Mr Galah ? as no racing in NZ on I believe?. Chief could well be on a Albion Park Brisbane winner this week ????? I have a couple of 'Special's' for him. there's a couple in Saturday night with his 'name written All over them' lol.............. "DOUG" in the trot (race9 No. 7) is an old NZer with all the tricks from these lousy standing starts . If he trots away, he Wins !! Pete has shoved the missus on the horse he trains off the backmark 40m . DOUG is quite erratic, and manners need a bit of honing, just a feeling he will do it this week. "ONYA DOUG" (race 6 No.2 ) I backed last week , and he stomped home late in stronger field. Good draw now at 2? and weak field too. I think he wins this time. Chief will be saying ONYA Gammalite after that lol....... Think they both will be 8-1 ish odds so i'm in for a $10 double and lucky $666 dollars collect after All going well. Go Doug ! (and Go mighty Brisbane Lions too in a AFL final this week)

Well a great moment for harness racing would be for 2010 when Blackie defeated the kiwi Monkey King at Menangle . "BLACKS A FAKE becomes first horse ever to win the Interdominion Grand Final on 4 occasions, between NZ and Oz, for the illustrious Natalie Rasmussen !!" thanks for the compliment for 2021 Karrots re. daughter Fio (now with huge pay rise and begins working new job at Supreme court next month for the judges ) an amazing dream for us .......... BUT in needing a more equine flavoured theme for your time-line you need to change it to going with that Amazing Dream maybe?? .......................... and Copy That too. 2021 year of the AMAZING DREAM (well Auckland Cup was a few hours to midnight New Years Eve, but who's picky?? lol) and COPY THAT as well, both 'Cleaning up Big Group races' on both sides of the Tasman. ! -
It's always Hopples Brodster !!!! you buy a set of hopples for Pacers. Anyone hobbling along is generally a bit lame.

Everyone ready for level four! Covid 19... Again
Gammalite replied to Gospel of Judas's topic in Covid-19 and Racing
Well the younger ones will have a differing view to everything than us Karrots. We are more 'experienced' though so know Best lol !!! my daughter I just framed up , to work in the courts this year as a 'learned ' person, BUT I still know best lol !!!!! The greatest problem in young people is they want everything NOW, rather than work towards it over a period of time like the previous generation. New car at 20 ?? unheard of in our day, but commonplace now. The new generation certainly have new thoughts on things. The old boys (like $bill ) there posting, are very bitter it seems . Not much good on a thread Karrots , as just a political comment so give it the flick. not very constructive. -
Oh, the beauty of a "three-legged" Champion pacer!!!
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
Yes it was a World Record that night , to Lord Module. What an amazing animal he was. The Gammalite of NZ really ! Quite a brutal stallion though. Cecil trained him with 'Chains' at one part of it. He didn't play the game at times. Cecil was from Tasmania like myself, my grandfather drove against him down there near on a century ago. He had to leave Tasmania for some funny reasons and went to Canterbury , where it took him a few seasons to get established. Eventually winning NZ Cups with THUNDER and FALSE STEP to be an icon of the sport. -

Alan Matson FFA !!!! don't tell me about the 1981 one FFS . Greatest race ever . 3 x amazing NZ Cup winners in a photo for third !! (Armalight, Bonnies Chance and Hands Down) Gammalite was a length in front of them !!! after sitting parked last lap !! But bloody LORD MODULE storming home from last, to stop Gamma ever getting an Addington win , sad day !!! best race ever. -
2021 Winx Stakes - look at this field! Oh we dream!
Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
You should of been ALL OVER that $22 quinella Chief in the Winx !!! I had the Japanese runner and Brandenburg as the F4 with them , until disaster struck 120m out. I'd go 3 million for that yearling ? -
Everyone ready for level four! Covid 19... Again
Gammalite replied to Gospel of Judas's topic in Covid-19 and Racing
Isn't this virus a heap of CRAP ?? you guys are calling all and sundry people as fuckwits and blaming them for it all . Same here in Oz. The state premiers are fighting and Prime Minister tries to say it's their decision what they do in each State. In reality , it's JUST another FLU as everyone knows. A hundred years ago they had a particularly SAVAGE flu called SPANISH Flu that wiped out millions . every flu season brings deaths (Very unfortunately) just the way it is What good is Lock-downs gunna do ??? Certainly NOT going to remove flu from society. UK and USA are just getting on with it at present, even with huge daily Covid +ve numbers. You just have to get over the fear and get on with it eventually. ..... Aus and NZ will have to release the Lockdowns sooner or later Must admit we are 'lucky' in QLD at present, but anyway , best of luck NZ to see the light and be back in business soon !!!! -
She's a big State Chief , pretty dry most of the time , must be great track-people that keep grass on some of those tracks !! Beautiful NZ must have magnificent tracks. I grew up near Takanini training tracks . Lush green grass all year round. Can't believe they dug it up for houses????. whata tragedy...... start of decline for NZ racing then? Just for a laugh for the galloping folk , here's Map of the 545m track that raced pacers for 50 years every Saturday afternoon, in suburban Brisbane , that we were talking about named ROCKLEA . was on-course only betting . they sent 10 horses around in a race though even with 'limited' room lol. All standing starts like the gallopers !! (mobile barrier car wouldn't fit around it !!! lol.....) You couldn't attack 4 wide a lap out or you just ended up in the Mechanical shop bottom of picture hahahaha. But lspose you could get the wheel damage to your sulky fixed while there ? hahahah

You kiwis started all this !!hehe. Here is MY BROWN JUG (possibly raced as Little Brown Jug in NZ) savaging the great MANIKATO !!! heaven forbid ! trying to hurt the greats of the turf ! grumpy kiwis not liking getting beaten ! lol.... Manikato out-stayed him to win this Group 1 CF ORR stakes 1980. -

Gammalite replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
C'mon Chief , that was pretty tame ! Great News barely made contact . That was only fillies and mares race she was a bit grumpy for a mare in a race , i'll give you that much. If you want a real savage clamp on ,complete with some big teeth marks, you need a good Stallion. ! Some of those buggers are 'Particularly Mean' , especially if they are in eye-shot of a horse they don't like. They seem to have real 'preferences' about who (what other horse) they like in their vicinity . SO Si BON used to do it in races occasionally. Try to clamp on to whoever is closest if they see something they don't like at times lol..... bit like Boay lol. -

Tommy Berry rode a terrific race on this bloke , following the great kiwi mare VeeryElleegant all the way and timing his run past her brilliantly. I still feel a fatality is imminent in Sydney Group racing. They were both planted 3 wide the trip I think, and after watching stewards replays on Racing NSW website, the interference at the back of the field in the Winx stakes was Extreme IMO. They are racing so so so tight in Sydney currently !!! RIP poor Brandenburg in that race too. (and we're blessed no-one ran over Rachel King) as he broke down and fell inside the 100m post. Then lo and behold , I saw Tommy Berry in action in the Silver Shadow Stakes , another horse had fallen at that exact spot , just inside 100m to go from Extreme Interference as well , from Tommy forcing a passage (ran 4th) but cutting off Xtremetime , who fell and subsequently was destroyed, and Brenton Avdulla in hospital . (another miracle like King that he wasn't run over. ) Should these race riders be shown some NZ or UK big race footage , where respect (and care) for fellow riders is better than what was being dished up at Royal Randwick on Saturday ??? -
Not much of it makes any sense . Just have to give up worrying about it at some stage. Overnight in UK they had massive crowds at the EPL football matches as it re-starts (no crowds last year) even though there is 1/2 million positive cases in UK this month. USA has had 2,000,000 +ve cases this month, and I think the Government is keeping an eye on state FLORIDA with a similar climate and population as Australia. They are currently in the huge 3rd Wave of covid , as on Graph. At all the Florida hospitals they started off with One covid Wing , but now generally have 4 wings of every hospital dedicated just for the treatment of Covid patients. might as well use them I guess. They currently get more than 30,000 more positives per day and have 100,000 hospitilized and 20,000 Intensive care patients. I guess Australia and NZ are trying to avoid these scenes , but you can't just keep locking down a State or country everytime a person with flu turns up. ? can you? would never end. Vaccinate from one strain and a few months later a different strain turns up . mass vaccinate again ? You're right .... it all makes no sense.

Dare say they got it wrong. Surprisingly I would of voted Lazarus !!(after those 2 amazing NZ Cup wins, etc ) The vote done in Aus so , guess Lazarus wasn't going to get it. Of course he would of with an NZ vote though. ! The GF. Cast your vote in the H2H battle to determine the #Pacing Blacks A Fake v Lazarus Blackie 62.7% Laz 37.3%

Hope you took your favoured Quinella Chief !!!! sad for Brandenburg, but great return by your Ruakaka winning mare. Hope they set her for the Melbourne Cup !! she'll eat it up this year. (Verry Elleegant) -
No lack of form at all . Had a tipped out from stupid standing start (so can't count that) Then a win followed by a 3rd and 4th to KING OF SWING and COPY THAT . bloody terrific form IMO. If he was beating them , he'd be the Superstar of the Southern Hemisphere ? Actually AMAZING DREAM (formerly of Rolleston) was doing exactly that !!. beating the King of Swing and Copy That .............. wink wink . conspiracy is Brodsters demain Chief Stipey!! lol...., hope you aren't related . 03-Jul-2021 ALBION PARK APC03072101 4 $1,410 $25,000 2021 WONDAIS MATE OPEN K M RASMUSSEN 1660m FT MS 90-120 P LISTED CLASSIC 1:52.7 19-Jun-2021 ALBION PARK APC19062101 3 $2,190 $25,660 2021 LUCKY CREED OPEN PACE K M RASMUSSEN 2680m FT MS 90-120 P LISTED CLASSIC 1:58.0 12-Jun-2021 ALBION PARK APC12062101 1 $8,544 $15,210 GARRARD DIVIDED CONDITIONS K M RASMUSSEN 2138m FT MS FFA P 1:56.1 05-Jun-2021 ALBION PARK APC05062101 u $300 $22,810 THE FLASHING RED DH K M RASMUSSEN 2647m 20 SS D P 1:58.5
