  1. I think you would find syndicates are registered at HRNZ already, and that is how they appear in the racebook. The HRNZ would be No Chance of controlling the everyday components and finances of the syndicate operation. Fees, shares ,etc, the figures supplied to them could easily be false and rorted as Basil suggested. The Kerr case could easily happen again even with your central registry. you need Honest Syndicate managers. Friend of mine has 1/20 in his first horse a thoroughbred . Of course he has no say whatsoever in where it races, who rides it etc, but gets an e-mail every second day, video of horse weekly, all jumpouts sent to him, and monthly account breakdown of his share , with all the bills, taxes, winnings . IIt's up to the SYNDICATE MANAGER to Look after their owners !!!!! they are busting for them to Win really ! they love happy owners. (except Kerr) Kerr just a bad egg who was only about winning himself on the Punt. and made very poor reading at start of this thread. (and not even owning up) rotten. But surely No one else could be that rotten and do that to their owners?. so hopefully a once off? and 'happy racing' can resume for All those effected now.
  2. Well that sums it up well . Most owners cannot accommodate retired stock so have to look at things like riding hack for someone , or an old Macdonalds farm somewhere. alas some horses retire due to injury and/or unsoundness and with the cost of vet bills and agistment being high , the trip to the knackery is often the option used. The trainers have a lot of horses pre-racing , and in racing to worry about 24 hours/day. the owner has the responsibility post race career. In Australia , the bulk of racing is done at city Metro State capitals tracks , and a lucky 'Out' here for owners was to sell them off cheaply to the rural places that race (slower) like in the back blocks of NSW and SA usually . and those areas have farms too , where they can run out in huge acrerage when racing days complete. seems to work well.
  3. What ? and tread the lines of honesty. What about workers insurance, benefits etc. ? the employed berry picker injured by a horse on the trainers property ? how did that happen. Surely Trainers are Smart enough to ONLY employ people who are capable of holding a licence?? Owners have paid good money for some of those horses, and pay good money for their preparation. The trainer should have good reliable staff to achieve this.
  4. Well the Punters want to win Brodie, and the Bookies want to take punters money. Big time gamblers that don't care if they win or lose (just having fun) a well catered for as high flyers in casino's etc. Bookies don't care as you say about the 'small trainer losing big'. He turns up with money. they don't ask where did you get it? just give it to us thank you very muchly!. Do all those pub's and club's ask the pensioners (and others) where their money comes from each week as they shove it all in Pokies? No , it's just welcome back !! here's some reward points. ! see you again real soon .
  5. Well because as a harness racing fan , you have read it all, doesn't mean Everyone else has. Many might be reading it for the first time in these reports . you and I and Brodie could just skip over it. Repetition too, sometimes has results as I was saying, in warning others within the industry, that you will/ may or should get caught too. Like those annoying tv ad's . makes you aware more than a once off. For those outside the industry , I feel the articles show a willingness by harness racing admin, to weed out the fraudsters / cheats and their illegal activity is not tolerated . Spose you're right, and some will think the games rotten. This Kerr thing certainly is ?? really rotten. p.s I hope the domestic violence bloke got dropped from the repeating articles, as really that is nothing to do with harness racing. a serious crime on a personal level there. that was awful.
  6. Since racing first started people with horses have treated their horses with things to beat the opposition in races. These 2 being charged and 'Reported on' shows that the industry is attempting to catch the ones who use illegal and /or excessive treatments , knowingly breaking the rules and regulations. Doesn't reporting these things Deter others from doing the same thing? You just mentioned them Again? why the can't the reporter ???? These guys treating horses, are small fry compared to the Massive Damage this Kerr bloke has done to himself and the industry. 50 people have been effected greatly by this deception. cover-up shouldn't be an option. Is a Great Warning for all the people wanting to buy into a horse , to watch out for these sort of rorts. Congrats to the reporters for telling everyone about it. !!! Keep people Informed . a good thing.
  7. It should be Wrong ? these days Paid staff should be licensed to be handling horses? even at home. Nathan Jack and Mark Pitt (2 very high profile horsemen currently disqualified) have been caught a few times , trying to still carry on training horses at home. That is silly if Kerr can still do that ?? His penalty should be increased and others charged at the property, if they accommodate him around their horses. Afterall he states himself, he has Mental Health Issues ??? would be best for himself too then, to be barred altogeather from horses. Here's the Australian rule..................... AHRR 91(1) – A person shall not carry on an activity regulated by licence – (a) if that person is not the holder of a current licence. It is alleged that Nathan Jack and Mark Pitt carried on activities regulated by licence at the registered training establishment of licensed trainer-driver Russell Jack on 6 May 2020, and in doing so failed to comply with an order of the HRV Stewards. It is further alleged that Nathan Jack refused to answer questions of Stewards, and Mark Pitt gave false evidence to Stewards. Russell Jack has also been issued charges under AHRR 187(2), 90A(2.9)(a) and 119C for giving false evidence, failing to ensure persons carrying out activities of a stablehand are licensed as stablehands, and stabling horses in his care at a location other than his registered training establishment.
  8. Well I feel like I was just reading a vicious Horror story. No.56 just sickening on this report really. and then the despicable reaction to it all in No.58 !!! disgraceful beyond words......
  9. The question was " What makes Princess Tiffany special on the last Jewels day in 2019 at Addington?" answer: The Allstars had their last Jewels Day togeather (barring a comeback ) and PRINCESS TIFFANY is the Allstars missing Link in a Diamond and Emerald Clean Sweep !!! she was run down a nose (by brother Barry trainer and Zac Butcher) , divebombing her very late. So she is special for missing out on the day! lol, and preventing that lovely BIG 6 winning photo frame! 2YO Diamond Sweet On Me Mark Purdon M Purdon & Ms N C Rasmussen 3YO Diamond Belle Of Montana Zachary Butcher B Purdon 4YO Diamond Elle Mac Natalie Rasmussen M Purdon & Ms N C Rasmussen 2YO Emerald One Change Natalie Rasmussen M Purdon & Ms N C Rasmussen 3YO Emerald Jesse Duke Mark Purdon M Purdon & Ms N C Rasmussen 4YO Emerald Turn It Up Mark Purdon M Purdon & Ms N C Rasmussen
  10. Hey I seen that tent ! those boys are seriously good with their hands. no whips allowed.
  11. Jupiter , Peter and Bob have solved many a mystery. great investigators. RUI needs them!! lol... maybe with all that training you could be a steward Ranga? easy for you to solve those Mystery race results?? and the nobbling?. such an awful thing. Phar Lap a real tragedy . go that far away to Mexico and see what happens. My dad was in Tassie racing many years . Was very deeply Traumatised by a nobbling when a relative had all 13 of his horses killed by a bitter rival in Tas in the 60's .put Strychnine in his stable oats one night. awful death for those horses. so dad pulled up stumps and went to NZ with some mates, as farrier, with Halwes for the Interdominion at Auckland 1968. wish I was old enough to remember that great horse. They got up to some shenanigans too.
  12. Concentration Chief concentration and focus...... Is hard to believe you are so against them there blinkers ,when Jamie Richards, one of your fav's, whacks them on Probabeel and Melody Belle. their records should be enough to convince anyone. One of my fav's Lion's Roar (Brisbane Lions fan) came up just short in the Australian Derby on Saturday by a head. Bloody thing in blinkers EXPLOSIVE JACK came stomping down the outside to victory !!!!! rats.! better focus? maybe your fav Veery Elleegant will pull them on soon ?? and gain a length extra ? lol.... just kidding. Good luck with her for the Queen Elizabeth on Saturday . The Queen will reign !!! even though old duke is a goner.
  13. Hehehe , I thought you had put up an Alfred 'Hitchcock' mystery case for us to solve the mystery. lol. like a nobbling of horse or a horse-napping or something lol...... You kiwis are Persistent !!!! horse WHODUNNIT had 7 wins in career up till a 6 yearold 2004. all good. THEN, returned as an 8 yearold nearly 2 years later, to get from 23 starts over 15 months, racing at Invercargill to Northland , All to get just 1 x 3rd placing and $1000. That was a tough grand earned !! Must of showed a bit at home????? bugger all at the races for the old boy. lol...... Persistency pays ? or sometimes not ....
  14. Ailsa Maude , chestnut mare , trained by Doug Gale in the 90's? is that her? what happened?
  15. is such a tough one. Do you disqualify a trainer for something the staff do.? horse returns a positive , but WHO(DUNN)IT? In Phil Coulson's case with Juniors Image DQ , his Christchurch friend Bob McArdle said the stable area has caffiene everywhere like it was sprinkled about from a salt shaker. clearly a set-up against the visiting horse . very sad. but 7 years DQ he got Anyway. maybe lessons were learned after that harshness of that caffiene sentence? , and leniency given by stewards, if evidence against a wanker worker is given to show who really DUNN(IT)
  16. I don't know . should be same sentence for one and all for same things. human or horse in my opinion. WA champion Coulson got 7 years DQ for caffiene 1971 at Addington. he'd won 1000 races. professed his innocence. Coulson went out on crayboat for years. did make small comeback at the end of the 70's. actually drove Gammalite and Pure Steel to some of their wins in the west. Yet the Dunns in 2017 had 4 horses DQ at Nelson and only got $7000 fine each.???? SHOCKING (in)JUSTICE. Yes that 8 years you mention is a looooonnnnngggggg time .?????? crazy indeed.
  17. Very important for trainers to know the levels. You are saying exactly as Chief does 'Not happy with Thresholds' Fair enough. You obviously have to have them or you know what happens...... Champion West Australian horseman Phil Coulson got Seven years for Caffeine winning the 1971 Interdominon Final at Addington with Junior's Image. seven years !! and professed his innocence to his dying day. Now that was a sensational punishment!!!!. and a huge story then (and now) Leading QLD trainer Darrel Graham, just back from year off cobalt threshold exceeded. Insists it was horse chewing rail or post. Bicarb levels have adjusted and changed over the years, to stop the milkshakes , etc..... so progression is made. level playing fields achieved. We have to rely on the scientists to set 'realistic thresholds' as you and Chief are asking for. There is NO OTHER possible solution.
  18. was just thinking that. Yesterday at Redcliffe Brisbane the 'really slow' ones that can't break 2minutes get a crack at $1816 for 9 races of 9 starters. over 1700m. (they have these now and then) Lo and behold one race they went 1.56 ?? what's going on here. so turns out Darrel Graham had 2 horses in it including KING OF TRUMPS nz very heavily backed into $1.80. It had one start NZ and won at Gore in January. so Darrel attacked the leader with his drive (stablemate) because leader only serious opponent hahaha then sat parked, then gave it to the leader again down the backstraight !!!! excellent. of course King of Trumps swings home from back in the field to win easily in 1.56 hahahah. pure entertainment. good to see the team driving working out lol. after the excellent Nz displays. Darrel just did a year for an unlucky Cobalt charge so deserves something to go well for a change. lol.... sunday afternoon fun.
  19. And good on him for having a crack too. !!! (and his wife helping) All the 2 year old's going gangbusters in His name! . First 4 last Friday Addington too. paid $130. should of been on it?. Yeah Krug is cleaning up the three year old's , but he (Krug) has always been good?. and Christen Me did Allstar 'damage' as well from that stable? , so they aren't too shabby. lol...... Nothing changed you say? . excellent then !!. Let's enjoy Triangles instead of 'stars' in our dreams. Amazing Dreams.
  20. Sorry Chief I didn't mean to miss point. Mine was that stable staff are causing issues and trainers should be more wary of more involved with who they employ. Yes , to your questions . There are a thousand drugs you could use. some have zero level allowed. ICE would be one I think. Caffiene ,being from the heart stimulant family , has a threshold in performance horses. Dunn's DQ runners must of been over the threshold 2018. everyone knows the Bicarb levels by now, and milkshakes not allowed anyway , to stop lactic build up. Morphine , I do APOLOGISE as was thinking it must of been administered, as worked at Vet for a good while after harness and it is a very Strong Opioid that is used for pain relief , mainly pre, during and post surgery. and being S8 narcotic is registered for use by a vet only. wasn't thinking of feed contamination Very surprising to me of any use in racehorse. It numbs the sensory receptors so you feel LESS . esp Pain. But wouldn't a numbed horse actually perform poorly as opposed to better?? we slowed many animals up a bit at vets with morphine. digress. TeAkau was a feed related issue from poppy hay? not from rogue staff. Waller had 3 DQ's with contaminated feed in 2013 as well. It's a very tricky one for stewards to ascertain blame too. Posts and rails have been discussed too !! bloody hungry horses !!lol...... But horse CANNOT keep the race and trainer is responsible still if in the swab.
  21. I would like to think only a very TINY percentage of population would be 'exceeding limits' on the road , or to themselves , or administering to a horse any substance exceeding limits whatsoever. Most people have common sense , and No When to Stop. (even Blair now too probably) recreational drug use is a poor thing to do around horses. You have to be razor sharp and focused , during most horse activities , and usually you are being paid by someone to be responsible , and do your job properly (and in good coherence lol..) I guess it comes down to for Nat Rasmussen either using or selling which is much more serious. digressing. With the morphine TeAkau DQ, and the Ice for Waller DQ , and the Robert and John Dunn caffeine 2018 at Nelson DQ. Action WAS taken by stewards as WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE TO believe about 'Rogue' Stableworkers??????. The rule states a Trainer is responsible for a horse at the Races and responsible for presenting substance FREE. Yes the testing Is more sensitive as you say Chief , But a Negative SHOULD BE ACHIEVABLE ??? most can do it lol........... Any queries with staff should be WELL ADDRESSED by a decent (i.e bigtime) trainer Before the horse gets to races. Stables need to be able to Trust their staff . I was SHocked with capital SH with Waller having 15 out 60 staff irregularities. lol......
  22. Well that is a great fact or two , and very close . but no cigar or Diamond for that answer. Clue : Forget about ruby's, I'm Only thinking of Diamonds and Emeralds.
  23. Chris Waller was very lucky in 2016 to NOT be disqualified. A random check (sample) from 60 staff resulted in 15 irregularities.!!! that's 1/4 of the staff tested. wow. can't get good staff these days. Waller was fined $30,000 and "Betcha Flying " DQed from a 2nd placing in a race from Methamphetamine positive. (is probably why they were testing staff. ) 3 of the 15 'irregularities' were ICE , including the trackwork rider of "Betcha Flying". one staff member had cocaine in system. one staff member sacked, 2 suspended and one 'resigned'. just shows cross contamination to the horse can happen , when in close contact. (although you would think administration must of been deliberate) Probably best not to work around horses , with anything in your system (ask Blair) , things could go pear-shaped quite badly.
  24. Rightio , here's one for some Jewel s bonus points for a clever player. The last Jewels day was 1st June 2019 at Addington. What makes PRINCESS TIFFANY special on that wet day? Regarding the Jewellery on offer.
  25. Horses get very hungry Hunter ! As hungry as a horse . posts stand no chance. lol.
